I can't express how grateful I am to have had Nichole Shin as my wedding planner for our October…read more2022 wedding. From the initial consultation to the last dance, Nichole was amazing. Her servies were worth every penny! We talked to 3 wedding planners in Jan 2022, but chose Nichole. She helped us (in California) plan our dream wedding in only 9 months! She is warm and kind, and answers any question without making you feel dumb (even if I felt like it was a dumb question to ask!). Nichole does not do many weddings per a year (1-2 weddings a month). Some wedding planners do 50 weddings a year! Those wedding planners don't have enough attention to give your wedding. Because Nichole limits the weddings she does, she can focus on you and your wedding, which we valued. She is super responsive to our communication. She also sent us a sweet welcome package when we signed the contract with her. Nichole was also not pushy and non-judgemental when it came to decisions. She provided us the info to make a decision and let us decide. From the start, Nichole set us up on Aisle Planner. This had a VERY helpful checklist of what we needed to get done by when, and a budget section to track spending. She worked with us to create an initial budget. I loved that she could help us with deciding how to much to spend on different parts of the wedding. For example, she sent us example photos for each price point for flowers. It was super helpful! Based on our budget, Nichole recommended us a few vendors that fit our style and budget. It saved us so much research time to get a pre-vetted list and all the vendors were amazing. She helped us set up times to chat with all the vendors and we quickly reserved all the vendors. Nichole is so knowledgeable and experienced with the vendors as well. She knows which linen rentals company on the island is the best and which caterer's staff would be willing to help move chairs/furniture (from ceremony to the reception). Nichole also shielded us from the drama that was happening behind the scenes at the venue. There was some back-and-forth with the caterer at the last minute and Nichole helped with that. She worked with me to generate a design concept for the wedding. I already picked out a venue that I wanted (Dillingham Ranch). Luckily Nichole had done several weddings there before, so she knew the layout. I told her where I wanted the ceremony and the cocktail hour, and she figured out the layout for the venue (which tables go where, photobooth, DJ table, etc). She knew exactly which rentals we needed, so I didn't have to worry about it. She gave us a nice PDF of all the rental options and price points. Nichole made sure to review all the contracts we were signing as well. She helped me with the design of the table places and they turned out so gorgeous! She also helped us figure out a timeline for the wedding day and book a hotel block. When we came to visit Oahu pre-wedding, Nichole joined us at the venue to look around and confirm our layout worked. She also helped us book the caterer tasting and accompanied us (the cake tasting was the best part!). We also wanted a welcome event and post-wedding brunch. Nichole recommended venues for the post-wedding brunch (which we planned ourselves). She helped us print our stationary for the wedding and set those up on the day of the wedding. We were also able to ship Nichole packages via Amazon that we needed (i.e. frames, etc). We were able to borrow some of Nichole's items for the wedding as well. The only minor lapse on our wedding day was that the makeup artist did not follow the schedule Nichole created. They took too long, so my mom's makeup wasn't done in time for getting ready photos. But that wasn't Nichole's fault, and she later mentioned if I had told her earlier, then we probably could have gotten a partial refund! Her assistants were very helpful during phototaking since they helped with my dress (so my bridemaids could go enjoy cocktail hour). Out of everyone I know who has had a wedding planner, we are the only couple who likes their wedding planner Everyone one else I know did not have a good experience with theirs. Keep in mind, even with a full-service wedding planner, you will still have to make a lot of decisions and do work yourself (i.e. invitations, managing RSVPs/wedding website, designing stationary, picking music/outfits, etc). But trust me when I say that you will not regret picking Nichole to help plan your wedding!

We filled out the contact form and Malia got back to me very quickly. She was very nice, understanding and was very thorough with all the information. She helped us narrow it down to their Orchid Package which consisted of 1 Hawaiian musician and 1 hula dancer with a sound system add on (recommended if your ceremony is outside). We got everything squared away within a few days which was great because it was less than a month before our reception. I had no idea how to throw a wedding reception so I wasn't sure how it would go but on the day of, Jeremy and Leilani were absolutely PERFECT. They couldn't have been more engaging and entertaining. They both worked with the crowd perfectly and the music and dancing were both beautiful. I can't emphasize enough how worth it their performances were. I have no regrets about booking them and I would book Hula Hula Entertainment for any other events I would have. Big thanks to Malia, Jeremy, and Leilani for making our day special!

We were a California couple, planning a destination wedding so having a LOCAL and EXPERIENCED coordinator was a must. After picking our Kualoa Ranch wedding venue, she came highly recommended and we are so grateful to have had her guide us, support us and hold our hands through it all. From the start of the interview, my husband and I immediately clicked with her and our main takeaway was that she was 1) legit, 2) super experienced and 3) knew the ins-and-outs of Kualoa Ranch (especially our venue at Palikū Gardens). Trying to plan a destination wedding is stressful enough -- planning while navigating the pandemic was a whole another beast. Pili handled all our communications with vendors, which was a HUGE relief because everyone's on island time and she had the magic touch to get things done. Communication was stellar, through all the video calls, phone calls, texts, emails and DMs (not to mention my millions of questions) -- alleviated so much stress to have somebody on the grounds, updating us with everything and keeping us on track. The only time that communication was understandably slow was when she was in the hospital, pregnant with her third child (yes, not only is she the best wedding coordinator, she is also an incredible SUPER-MOM). Another bonus of hiring Pili was the discounts we received from other vendors, a fantastic perk of hiring somebody who's been in the event planning business this long! Fast-forward to the wedding day (because I have a max letter count). I am panicking about the weather because the weather app is telling me that a thunderstorm is expected during our ceremony. Thankfully, the rain held off during the ceremony and poured for a bit during half of our cocktail hour with clear skies afterwards. My parents told me afterwards that Pili and her team seamlessly swooped in to gather and move items out of the rain and ushered all the guests to the reception area to keep everyone dry (tg we had a tent). Endless praise from both our parents, family members and friends about how great Pili and her team was. Throughout the wedding, she kept us on schedule, encouraging us to eat during the reception (oops), and at the end of the unforgettable night making sure to shoo-away guests so we could savor our last dance together. Even after the wedding, she helped with getting a refund from one of the vendor's missing items. My husband would like to add-on that Pili was also great with stress management. Something about a wrong item on the day-of and Pili telling the groom "DON'T TELL HER I WILL FIX IT". So thankful I was blissfully unaware of this going on in the background. Truly an amazing wedding coordinator -- unmatched experience, stellar communication, incredibly down-to-earth, kind and caring human being. We started our wedding journey in 2019 by booking Hau'oli Hiers as our wedding coordinator. Hau'oli was with us every step of the way and was nothing short of exceptional! When I say she went above and beyond for us, that's a gross understatement. She pivoted with us at every twist and turn, regardless of what crazy, unexpected hurdle was thrown in our path. Literally 2 weeks before our wedding, we had to replan our ceremony and reception AGAIN, at the last minute, due to new restrictions mandated by the Mayor of O'ahu. Hau'oli once again strapped on her boots and led us safely and successfully through the metaphorical jungle, and there was a gorgeous beach wedding/reception on the other side! Not once did she hesitate to adapt with us during out-of-the-box brainstorming sessions-- daily calls (sometimes 3 a day) and running to venues to give us virtual tours while we sat on pins and needles here in NY, consistently providing innovative ideas (to work around roadblocks), and going with whatever we green lit to get it done. And when we finally arrived in O'ahu, she met us at Costco and Target to help us stock up on items we'd need for our after party, which she lugged around for us in her car and delivered after our reception. She did not have to do any of that, but had graciously offered. Yes, we paid her for a service (which, by the way, was a very reasonable price). But this treatment shows just how much she cares about her clients and her business. It's a passion project for her and exemplifies the absolute Spirit of Aloha! We were sad to say goodbye to her after everything was over, feeling like we were saying farewell to a good friend. After we returned to NY, she called to check in on us and see how we were doing, and we were so happy to hear from her! At the end of the day, there are no words sufficient enough to express our gratitude to Hau'oli for all that she's done for us these past 2.5 years. Their prices and packages were exactly what we were looking for...a simple ceremony for 29 people with a picturesque background. I was in contact with Eric the entire time and he was patient and prompt in all his responses to my silly emails and last-minute changes. We chose the gold package, but we also added a few other options - private passenger bus, on-site coordinator, ukulele player, haku lei, and maile lei. They were super receptive when we said we wanted to also have a friend officiate the second part of the wedding (vows and the pronouncement of man and wife). Sarah took our photos and was so friendly and great at suggestions. I especially love that she let us have a few private moments to just enjoy the sunset after taking all our photos...it was beautiful and special. Eric was not only the office contact, but he was our on-site coordinator, which was a nice surprise to meet him in person. He was great at wrangling all 29 of us together and guiding us to the ceremony site. He was awesome at keeping me informed of what to expect for every step of the way....before and after. I especially was appreciative of him reminding us about the marriage license....I filled out the application, but I almost forgot to schedule an appointment! The ceremony site itself exceeded my expectations....majestic Diamond Head in the background! So beautiful!! The ceremony officiant, Lindsay, was sweet and patient with us. The traditional part of the ceremony was beautiful and so meaningful. She explained every component and I loved the lei exchange and the traditional Hawaiian vows. I'm so glad we also booked the ukulele player to add ambience. Definitely patting myself on the back for that one. Overall, we had a really great experience with the Honolulu Wedding Group!!!! 100% recommend!!!
