This was, of course, our first time planning a wedding, and having someone with Steph's expertise guiding us through every step made all the difference. Because of her, we had far less vendor communication to manage ourselves, which made the entire planning process so much less overwhelming. Her experience with the venues and the local vendors is so key. She has worked with them countless times (it seems like everyone in the industry knows her) and knows exactly how to get the best outcome from each relationship. One of Steph's greatest strengths is keeping you focused on exactly what matters at the right time. If Steph tells you it's time to do something, do it. If she hasn't brought something up yet, trust that you don't need to worry about it; she'll let you know when it's the right time. That level of organization and confidence was such a gift throughout the planning process. Steph also has exceptional composure under pressure. And with Mounia's help, it was just that...it was everything we wanted and been planning for over a year. Our wedding was on July 25, 2015 and the planning started immediately after our engagement, March 28, 2014. I contacted Mounia, all the way from Utah, a week after our engagement and we went over some of the steps to planning a wedding (of course, I was new to this whole thing). We were constantly emailing, texting, and talking over the next few months. The first thing we needed to do was "secure the venue." So of course, she was able to visit all the venues I was interested in and of course, me and my husband were on facetime for this venue search. Mounia was really good with not only keeping me posted, but also my parents and my husbands family. She included them on every email and met up with them as needed (being that we were in the mainland). She, my mom, and us facetimer's were able to secure a venue that day, July 2014. Once the date was set, everything flowed (for the most part). Mounia provided me with a timeline of when and what needed to be done. Yes, this was very helpful. This whole process went smoothly. It was very difficult planning a wedding from the mainland, but with Mounia's expertise and networking, we were able to get everything done with minimal STRESS! Mounia does a good job taking on that stress for you..lol! I've known a lot of brides to be extremely stressed during planning and that day, but for me, I think it was more nervs than stress. I would be lying if I said I was NEVER stressed, but of course, with Mounia's help...that stress was not bad. The day of the wedding went smoothly...if their were any hiccups, I couldn't tell...lol! We actually did much of the legwork ourselves (booking vendors, doing the invitations and RSVPs, managing our budget) since that's what we wanted to do; we asked Mounia to take care of some of the details/tasks leading up to the big day. Mounia kept us on track with the ceremony and reception timeline and took care of the logistics/details we had not thought of (for example, loading up our getaway car with the gifts and leftover party favors). I had…read moreoriginally been planning my wedding at the Kahala and was going to just use a playlist off our ipods and hook it into the Kahala's sound system and have it overseen by a friend the day of the reception. I was kind of stunned at how much the vendor the Kahala uses was going to charge just for providing a sound system and an ipod hookup (having a tech person there to supervise would have been an additional high fee). So I decided to check around and ask for recommendations for someone else to handle the sound. I'm so glad that I did. Jason responded immediately and not only did a great job on the DJ side but had a lot of useful suggestions about finding out what kinds of songs we would want, providing wedding checklists and questionnaires for the bridal party to get fun information that our MC could use to fill any quiet spots in the program, etc.. He and his assistant were there the whole time, ran everything perfectly, followed the queues in the program for the different special songs for different events and just all around helped make it a stress free, fun event. We decided to plan a 50 guest wedding in Hawaii, and picked Honolulu as the spot. While we picked our event venue (Modern Honolulu) we needed someone to really help us in organizing everything at the location, as we had not checked out anything before. Also, as sister of the bride, I was not going to be planning every detail (no thanks!). From the immediate first interaction email, Cortney was a true delight to work with. She handled everything with professionalism and helpfulness, not to mention being such a friendly and reachable person.
