I'm not sure if it's just me but I think there should be a minimum three day response time. If that's not doable, I may accept one week but definitely not two. And there's more... Finally got a response so I go over the package and call them back with questions for all these "extra charges." Getting married outside of Honolulu? There's a charge for that. Having the ceremony and reception at different locations? There's a charge for that. Having it at the same place? There's a charge for that too. More than 75 guests? You guessed it!!! There's a charge for that too! Paying with a credit card so you can earn miles? Yes, there's a charge for that. 3.5% processing fee to be exact! But with all those extra charges, I was still going to book them because of their reputation. I mean look at their reviews! So, I told them to send me the contract and it never came. Two weeks later, I get a email apologizing for the delay and asking me where my venue was again. Are you serious? I need an organized coordinator that I can trust! I sent them an email saying I will no longer need their services. Guess how many emails I got after that? Like five in a row with more apologies and excuses of how busy they were and how they're working on hiring and training someone to make the contracts. Whatever, I don't care. You can't handle the volume of your business, that's your problem. I need someone that can handle. I'm so happy I didn't go with them. I now have a coordinator that responds to all my emails and there are no extra fees. One that I trust and that is something so vital for one of the most important days of your life!

We interviewed with 3 different planners, and ABC ended up being ultimately the perfect fit for us. We loved all the work we saw on the website/social media, and knew that we needed a comprehensive package of some sort since we were busy healthcare professionals working in NYC. We had our initial consultation call with Mackenzie, who was so great, eased our minds, and laid out everything we needed to know to help us make our decision. We made a decision before the end of the week, as we felt the involvement of ABC and their ability to both help design and contact vendors on our behalf with us being so busy would be helpful (and it really was!). We chose the elite planning package - we basically had bi-weekly video calls where we went over specific talking points and their orderliness and helpful input really helped us round out our tough decisions. Whenever we needed something more urgently, we were even able to text Mackenzie and Sammy and they were always so willing to assist. Sammy eventually came on to become one of our lead coordinators and we could not rave about her more! Even when we ran into some challenges in the months leading up to the wedding (unexpected vendor changes, inclement weather, etc) Sammy was always 10 steps ahead and really ensured that we had the best outcome possible even before we knew what was happening. We were being photographed outside by the water on the NORTH SHORE with a storm approaching (IYKYK) and Sammy was by our side with a platter of pupu's and cocktails ready to be blown away! Even with Tropical Storm Lala literally making headway for our wedding, Sammy (along with Natalie & Autumn) helped make our wedding perfect. We are so grateful and could not recommend them more. :)

For starters, Janice told us that she had another wedding the same day in the morning AFTER she had my then fiancé & I sign her contract. There were issues in Janice not coordinating clearance for my 91-year-old flower girl & her caregiver to drive up the special utility road for the rehearsal AND wedding day; resulting in my flower girl & her caregiver driving 40+ minutes TWO DAYS in a row, just to be turned around by security. The result was that I had NO flower girl on my wedding day & my officiant announced to my seated guests if anyone had seen ______ (my flower girl's name). Causing confusion and frustration to my guests, bridal party, my parents, and the groom, & myself. My mom was talking on the phone with my flower girl's caregiver trying to figure out what was happening & why security turned them around, while also trying to rush back to get her makeup touch-up. My mom tried to call Janice's phone to ask for help in coordinating my flower girl's arrival, however, Janice did not pick up. Later Janice said something along the lines of I don't keep my phone on me when I go to the ceremony area.....I couldn't help but think, "You're the VERY ONE who SHOULD have your phone on you in case anything happens or we need help. During the Reception, she was in the back by the DJ the whole time and when I was thinking that the DJ forgot a special family dance song...I, the bride had to get up from the sweetheart table at the front and walk across the side of the dance floor to flag Janice down (twice because there was an interruption) to ask her if they skipped/forgot about the special family dance. Her team also did not set up the game supplies to be under the sweetheart table, so I had to walk over to a maid-of honor and ask her to get the box at the pavilion labeled "reception." Since Janice had a wedding in the morning when my bridal party arrived to Kualoa Ranch, her sister and significant other came to help set things up. The makeup artist's scheduled time on the itinerary was off from what was communicated to the makeup artist...so we thought the makeup artist was late. The sister didn't know much about how to help set up things and even said she was tired and hungry...so I, the bride gave her a banana to snack on. I honestly could go on...but will just say that I would NOT recommend this company for your special wedding day.

A Coordinator is someone who coordinates and is responsible to get things in order and help alleviate the stress that happens at an event. I understand it's a difficult job, but it's your profession nonetheless. Janice was like a deer in headlights and seemed like she had no idea what was happening at all. Her commitment to her job was almost non existent. She's was supposed to be at our rehearsal at the church, but apparently didn't plan her day well as she was only half present during our rehearsal. She agreed ahead of time to be there and changed it up because she "forgot" she had another event to be at. It is your job to get your stuff together. If you can't make it, say you can't! Don't agree to it and cancel and assume you have a handle on the wedding when you obviously don't. She was also late on the day of the wedding because of her alarm! Oh my goodness! All our vendors ended up contacting the bride because Janice wasn't available! Worse yet, she asked the bridesmaid and groomsmen to do her duties because she wasn't there. The ceremony didn't go as planned, but we improvised. Poor execution on her part since she wasn't at the entirety of our rehearsal! Reception was also dismal! Information was given to her prior, but was never checked out to account for errors or changes, as we had to, again, improvise on our own! I've worked in the wedding industry as a photographer and videographer and have with many Coordinators over the years. Wedding Planner 808 (Janice) is one I DO NOT recommend as there is no consistency, zero punctuality and no integrity to her craft. As with any profession, it can be difficult, but at least show up to do it. Save your hard earned money and look elsewhere!

We began emailing quite a few planners via The Knot and Wedding Wire just to get a feel for what we could except from planning a wedding in Hawaii in general. Beyond worrying about our budget, we were torn on whether we could logistically execute something so elaborate being so far away....until that fateful Monday morning back in 2024, when Yanicke called me out of the blue. She quickly introduced herself, mentioning how she had received our inquiry, and immediately dove into her ideas for our special day. I just loved that she took the initiative to do that, especially given the crazy, 6-hour time difference! She explained how she had worked with a venue that could double as accommodations for us and our immediate family, something we knew would be one of the best ways to actually host and easily organize the wedding weekend of both Indian and Polish wedding festivities. For us, Yanicke REALLY shined when it came to tapping her vast network of vendors and and managing our budget. She advised us on what we should prioritize and invest in, and what we could do without, while still maintaining the overall vision and vibe we wanted to create for ourselves and our guests on the the big day. She was EQUALLY impressive on both our rehearsal and wedding days. She suggested we rehearse not just the Catholic, but the and Hindu ceremony as well, which was so worth it given the many rituals and parent involvement. The timeline she had started putting together months before our wedding, plus the finalized version accounting for vendor arrivals, additional notes and moments we needed to incorporate, was exactly what we envisioned and needed the most, and everyone was locked in and delivered once the big day came. On our wedding day, Yanicke managed every vendor, navigated any delays with grace, and even helped with family drama all while keeping us perfectly on track. We felt supported, celebrated, and completely stress-free with her by our side. Yanicke is a real gem with years of wedding planning wisdom and sharp networking skills that is truly hard to come by these days. She advocates for both her clients and her network, and will make you feel like family from Day 1.

From day one, they were flexible, accommodating and reassuring. A bride couldn't ask for any more, seriously!! They worked with me to customize a package to fit my needs, and priced it accordingly. Planning a wedding from 3,600 miles away is no easy task!! But it was made a lot simpler having their recommendations, opinions, organization and help. Maile made herself available to me anytime I need her. A random call with a quick question, a barrage of emails full of contracts, setting up an appointment to meet with them while we were in Honolulu... She made time for everything and responded to me within minutes most of the time. They made top-notch recommendations to me, and yet still helped me work within a budget. Her help with keeping track of who we've paid, how much, when the final payment is due, tipping guidelines, program, time line and contracts were all priceless to someone like me. On the day of, they took care of ALL the 'behind the scenes' stuff. Setting up, decorating, directing the florist, helping the caterers, gathering guests, getting me ready, keeping us on schedule, accepting the delivery of the cake, etc. All I had to do was enjoy being a bride!! I've heard horror stories from so many people about how they didn't get to eat any of their food, or have any cocktails because they were running around like crazy. Not us, hahaha. We ate our appetizers (a whole platter!), our dinner and of course our dessert, drank to our hearts content, danced, socialized, and really got to ENJOY our wedding day. They all magically happened without me even waving my wand. The magic of a perfect smooth day was possible due to the help of Maile and Tammy at One Fine Day. We got the Day-of Service but Maile and I started working on the wedding about a month prior. She made vendor recommendations, kept track of my contracts, contacted all the vendors and even helped us pull tissue pompoms the day of the wedding. She also made a meticulous wedding itinerary and vendor contact sheet. The day before the wedding, my mother-in-law mentioned having a Tea Ceremony, which was not planned. I frantically called Maile and she told me she was going to take care of everything. Did I also mention that I was planning this wedding from Seattle and I am super controlling? Maile handled all the details and my 'special personality' perfectly. My number one advice for brides who are planning a destination wedding is to hire a planner. Because of her, we had far less vendor communication to manage ourselves, which made the entire planning process so much less overwhelming. She has worked with them countless times (it seems like everyone in the industry knows her) and knows exactly how to get the best outcome from each relationship. One of Steph's greatest strengths is keeping you focused on exactly what matters at the right time. If Steph tells you it's time to do something, do it. If she hasn't brought something up yet, trust that you don't need to worry about it; she'll let you know when it's the right time. That level of organization and confidence was such a gift throughout the planning process. Steph also has exceptional composure under pressure. No matter how busy the day became or what unexpected situations came up, she remained calm, professional, and completely in control. I meet her and some other colleagues a year and a half before my wedding date. She's very personable and her website is great but this reflects nothing to her knowledge of wedding planning abilities. She's a great person and is very sweet but bottom line is she has not clue about what it takes to plan a wedding. I'd give her organizational skills a D-. I was so furious after my wedding that when I came home I did some research on her to find out that she was in college while she was helping me plan my wedding. Which means she's a part time coordinator and explains why she wasn't fully tracking with me. I found her myspace, facebook and some references on her college website that helped me to determine that she was a full time student during my year and a half of planning and that she graduated the same month that I had my wedding. There were so many details that we had discussed that she did not do at my wedding. I'm not sure if she thought I wouldn't of noticed or if she just solely forgot. Every vendor she recommended me to was horrible to work with. The day of the wedding she showed up with basically a bunch of friends (all about 25 yrs old or so) and they were her setup and break down crew. They didn't do a mic check before the wedding and the pastor couldn't even say my name right (which she was suppose to go over with him). It seemed like a bunch of college kids who go to college in Hawaii and decided that they're going to do a wedding planning company for people who do destination weddings. After all, how hard can it be right? I imagine that your able to get away with it so long as the party doesn't exceed 30 people but after that the flaws truly start to come out. Supposedly when I met her a year and a half before my wedding day there was another older lady who was suppose to be mentoring her but for unknown reasons the lady left. Martina is the only wedding planner I believe and there's another guy his name is Nathan Bingham or something similar, but he's just the boyfriend now turned fiance. I did some research on him and it looks like he runs some type of moped rental company on the island as well so they might just be in the business to make money but I assure you that she/they have no idea what they are doing. Even more fishy...when I paid my balance I got an emailed receipt that said it was from Oahu Wedding but the email address wasnathan@hawaiianstylerentals.com I checked that website Hawaiian Style Rentals - Honolulu's Moped, Motorcycle and Bicycle Rentals Specialists on Oahu, Hawaii. and sure enough it looks like the payment system is tied to his business. It doesn't pay to try and scam people especially with the world wide web. I read she got into a college in some state on the east coast so I'm sure she'll just move her business over there or still continue to give the illusion that she can operate out of Hawaii since she still has friend there. Whatever it is...I believe it will all come back to you eventually. I wasn't going to post my review of her initially after my wedding because I thought it would be spitefully of me to do that but if I can save just one person from telling my story than that's one person that can go on and have the wedding of her dreams since it's too late for me. Your wedding day is only one day in a lifetime...don't gamble with someone your unsure about. I say to find someone who you can get good raves on from people who are neutral and have nothing to gain or lose from telling you their personal experience.
