Good photography session, but we had a little one and studio did not have any toys or props to get our child's attention to look at the camera. We did it all on our own. Most frustrating was the turn around time it took for us to get our photos back! We wanted these family photos to be produced, completed and sent to relatives on the mainland by Christmas but it took 2 weeks. We asked our 5 x7 photo sheet to be re-done as the company they use to make these photos had cut my husband's forehead off, and yet 3 weeks later we have no 5x7s to show for.. very disappointed, to say the least! read more

I can remember going to this place back in HS days. LOL. Damn that was a long time ago. Anyways I definitely recommended going here for family portraits, couples photos, or just getting together with all your friends. The staff made the process very easy. I decided to switch to Expressions for my infant and toddler center. They came to my school and set up for picture day. Everything was professional and they were very patient. If a child wasn't ready, they would try again later in the day so that they made sure to get a good picture of each child. Jon and Chelsea were both very nice and followed up well after picture day. I called to scheduled for an appointment and the person on the other line had a welcoming voice, answered all my questions, and put us in for a 2 o'clock appointment right away. This was our first time getting our kids pictures taken so I thought the prices was reasonable. When we arrived 30 minutes prior to our appointment time, we were welcomed and I signed some stuff and we picked the backgrounds and the photo packages Within 15 minutes, it was picture time. The photographer was very helpful, my 6 month old daughter began to get fussy but she maintain her professionalism and snapped away. Overall, we are visiting Oahu by way of St. Louis, Missouri and getting our kids pictures taken was one of our to do list. I would come here again and I would recommend this place to all my Hawaii friends and family and definately mention them to all my mainland friends as well. We had our newborn session here on 4/3/16. Shelby was our photographer and she worked with an assistant. They were both great to work with from the start. Our photo session took over 2 hours because my son kept having accidents and needed to eat. They were very patient and never tried to rush us in any way. Shelby was very sweet and even talked story with us while we took breaks. She captured the most amazing pictures of my sons. She rolled with it and went above and beyond with her energy and time. She really wanted us to enjoy ourselves and the shoot and not to worry about a thing. My family went to Expressions Studio at Pearlridge. The hair and make up artist, Nicole, did an amazing job on me and the photographer made it a fun experience. The whole experience was quick and very pleasant, they're a fun group of people and are professionals at what they do. We arrived over a half- hour early and were promptly serviced by Brittany. She was very helpful & knowledgeable. She gave suggestions on backgrounds, helped us to select the best package to meet our needs and budget. She also happen to be the Photographer. She made my Son feel comfortable... An important asset when photographing someone so that the smiles and body positioning look natural. The overall experience was AWESOME! I would recommend them to everyone I know. STAY AWAY at Christmas! We just had the absolute WORST picture ever taken with Santa at Windward Mall. Expressions Portrait Design was the photographer. We have taken pictures with Santa for the past 16 years and never has our picture quality been this poor. Expressions Portrait Design has a store at Windward Mall and was the company in charge of Santa pictures this year. Not only was 1/4 of the picture taken up by a banner on the bottom of the picture with large logos of Windward Mall and Expressions Portrait Design, but the picture was also VERY dark. What a disappointment and a waste of $25, which was the least expensive package! read more

I understand if the gift card was discounted or maybe they could do something for us, but I was told that they do not accept these gift cards anymore. I paid for my daughters 6th graduation pictures on April 4th and told them I would pick it up. I called yesterday (Monday) and the lady said that there must have been a mix up because it was not printed‍ she said she would print it and I could pick it up that day. I went today (Tuesday) to pick it up and the girl there said there was no pictures. So she called whoever and the lady did not print it ‍ the girl there could not print it either. So still no pictures and the girl offered to mail it to me, I told her no I want to pick it up because who knows when I receive it. I mean how hard is it to print 1 simple package!! I work at an elementary and am in charge of the yearbook I'm so glad we don't use them for our photography services!!! read more

So I went in with my toddler who just turned 2 years old. My son would not sit still and our shoot would take at least half an hour for 3 different outfits. I felt very frustrated because my son would not sit still but we somehow managed to get some photos of my son and it still turn out great. The photographer in the Pearlridge location was so patient. She was telling me about how her son was the same way so she put me at ease. But she kept putting different props for my son to see if he would sit and she was very helpful. She even told me about the different specials so that I could save some money. I would definitely recommend them. I've never been to the other location but she was very patient with my son. My husband loved the photos as do I. Hoping to get my son's photos as well this year. read more
