I look for 2 things: a consistent, skilled barber that understands hair patterns and what looks good - and then how to achieve it and someone I enjoy talking to as I'm there for an hour once a month. Chris nails it every time. He's open to feedback and I truly enjoy our conversation. We don't agree on every topic but he brings educated perspectives and is also a great listener. Anyone looking for a great cut and conversation shouldn't look any further.

Said walk in was good around a certain time, I came a little after the time was said and proceeded to be yelled at by a lady for 15 minutes. Doesn't make a haircut very enjoyable when the lady deciding the fate of your haircut is complaining to you and making you feel bad for "walking in." Clarifying what I wanted my haircut to look like ended with her saying "I know what I'm doing" and the worst haircut experience I've had in my life. On top of that awful experience they don't take card or any sort of mobile payment other than cash or checks even though they state on their Apple Maps that they accept credit cards, and doesn't say anything about it being cash only, also they do not have an ATM in the shop. The lady did a phenomenal job making me feel awful for not bringing cash in 2023. Would have been fine with waiting if she had haircuts lined up instead of yelling at me and making me feel bad for an extended amount of time in the middle of my haircut. She could have easily told me an appointment was needed and this situation wouldn't have happened, when you tell someone they can walk into your shop at any time around a certain time it's presumed to be casual and a stress free situation. Especially if your shop doesn't close for another 2 hours!

The Beardsmith is definitely a place that caters to men and with all the nonsense about toxic masculinity, the Beardsmith is a breath of fresh air.

Ray was my stylist who was friendly and a vet (plus). Good haircut with a straight-edged razor finish. This is a full and thorough "wet" beard service. Can't remember all of the treatement balms, conditioners, and creams but it was great. Warm towels to open up the pores and another straight-edge trim. A real treat. Lots of product and as a new customer, they give you a welcome kit with discount offers. I normally don't spend this much on myself but this is worth it.
