Terrible service. Save your $$$. They don't know what they're doing. I've always highlighted my hair. I booked to explicitly go blonder. After 4 hours of application, my hair turned out grey! Like wet cement color grey!". They, the owner, Kelsey and the stylist, Jessica tried to fix it saying "Oh the toner was left on too long - over processed.". The color was terrible and I've lost a ton of hair since. They know nothing about blondes. Kelsey said it might take a couple times and she rebooked me for mid April. I recently relocated to the Meridian area and needed to find a new salon. After scouring through Yelp reviews, I came across A Beautiful Reaction. I was pleasantly surprised to find a salon here that uses non toxic products. What really convinced me to try A Beautiful Reaction was when I saw that the colorists and stylists received on-going education. I believe it's always important to improve one's skills. I also liked the mission statement on the website which says "We want to set ourselves apart by what we call the "BRe Experience." That means from educating our clients about the chemistry in our consultations, customized appointments built around your desires and budget, to the scalp massage at the bowl, and personalized follow up from our guest relations department guaranteeing our work." So I had high hopes going into my appt. Rather than going into detail for the sake of keeping this review on point, let's just say that I walked out of the salon with an experience that left a lot to be desired. I wrote to the owner Kelsey and expressed my dissatisfaction with the services provided and not only did she offer to make things right, but she offered to fix my hair herself. It really says a lot about a business when the owner is not only open to criticism but accepts responsibility. What a night and day experience I had this time. I was given five star service treatment from the offer of complimentary beverages to the warm towel and scalp massage at the sink. I am extremely pleased with the results. This was a lovely experience. The salon is bright, cute and very relaxing. My stylist was great and it's close to my house. So many wins! I was able to make an appointment the next day. I saw Alex and didn't have to wait for her at all. I just got a regular haircut (which took seriously 6 minutes) but the whole process was about an hour because Alex took her time to give me a wonderful shampoo, head massage and beautiful blow out. My haircut was simple but well done. I was very pleased with it. My favorite part of the experience was how Alex showed me how to style my own hair just like she did. She showed me all the product but didn't try to up-sale me on any of it. I like that. The space is open but not so spacious that it loses intimacy. The decor is traditionally feminine with chandeliers and pink walls and ornate mirrors. They offer a complimentary mimosa or wine (yes please!) and when getting shampooed, you'll get a hot towel wrap and a few minutes of a head massage. It felt like a true spa experience. read more

However, she was interested in a color/highlight and such and it was easier to have this done at a salon. I looked at Yelp reviews for our area and went with this salon based on high ratings. My new favorite place to get my hair done! I've had such bad experiences with hair appointments over the past couple years (at other salons, mainly Ulta). I was so excited when my cousin told me about her experience here! I book immediately (literally booked my haircut the next day). The salon is so beautiful. It's feels so luxurious, from the beautiful large mirrors, comfy chairs, the sinks they wash your hair in (which are actually comfortable), etc. They are super friendly. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by Matthew (one of the stylists). He made me feel sooo welcome. Offered me something to drink and let my stylist know I was there. They know what they're doing. Kendra (the stylist who did my hair) did an amazing job and definitely knew what she was doing! I've never had such a perfect cut. It's exactly what I asked for. Their products work so well and smell amazing. I couldn't stop smelling my hair because it smelled so good! The shampoo also really hydrated my hair and made it feel soft and frizz free.
