Incredible place! I needed to check my car engine light, and I was having issues with starting my car as well. I had been to a few other places and both were charging me insanely high prices for the repair (other places were charging me 4x as much, I am not exaggerating). I was very happy to go here where they clearly explained the issue to me and made sure I understood what was going on. I also do not have much experience/knowledge when it comes to cars, so the fact that they answered all my questions very politely and thoroughly and did not try to upcharge me as other car places tend to do was great. I needed a light bulb replaced in my car's headlight array. Which on any other car is an easy job, but this one killed my spirit. Rather than water my whole Saturday fumbling, I called to see if they could manage it. It took 5 minutes to replace the headlight bulb, five minutes more to replace the daytime running bulb that was also dead, and they topped off my coolant for free. A fair price for the service as well considering it saved me hours of frustration. Can't ask for better than that! read more

Always seemed to be a reliable auto shop, which is seemingly hard to come by in this day and age. My car failed smog so I trusted these folks to let me know what I would have to do to pass. They let me know I needed to buy some sort of engine switch and that they would be happy to do the job for approximately 200/250 dollars. I told them thanks for letting me know but that I would need to consider my course of action before paying them that money. The woman who runs the shop was understanding but told me that I owed her 60 dollars for letting me know what I would need to fix. She had not told me that upfront or else I probably I would not have given them my car in the first place. I paid her in order to regain possession of my car, contacted the CA Bureau of Auto Repair and explained the situation, they informed me that she had no right to take money from me, and they allegedly contacted her and ordered the shop to refund me. The woman responded by contacting me and screaming that I (the customer) was wrong for contacting the bureau and that I was not getting any money back because she's going to do whatever she wants. She is shady, dishonest, greedy, lacks integrity, and honestly is borderline criminal with her business practices. I don't say this often, but this shop deserves to go out of business. 60 dollars at an auto shop is not too much money but it is more about the principal than the sum. This woman needs to be stopped before they steal money of greater value from the next trusting customer. Ps. My car ended up passing smog because I got the job done elsewhere for under 100 dollars. read more

I am so glad I found this place. The woman who responded to me was extremely helpful and got me in same day with a reasonable price. I had to have my car towed up there due to my broken axle, but they had me in and out in about an hour. Shoutout to the guy who fixed my car!! I didn't get anyones name. I was able to drive back home. Any other issues with my car I will definitely be going back to them. I recommend you give them a call if your looking for a shop in this area. I had two not great experiences. First time, they had a banner that said a price for a brake job, but when I paid, it was like double the price. Figured I had an suv, so didn't question it. Took to someone else for something else a couple weeks later and he said they used cheap brake parts. Fig you're so would try again, because they are close to my house. I had a check engine lights and they said it was $120 to diagnose, even though i told I had the code. I was In a hurry so, let them diagnose. Came back to me about 40 minutes later and said it would be $440 to fix (including the $120). I had also told them I had, the part ($90), and there price did not include parts. I was pissed at myself for giving them a second chance and told them forget it. I paid the $120 and left. I Took to my regular mechanic, and even with two Uber rides, it was still only $230 to fix ($190 for repair (parts included) and $40 for Uber). Will not make the same mistake three times. Again, I blame myself, but don't use them. read more

Short version: Just take your car in here. Say "Hi!" to Carla. My friend mentioned this shop to repair a car that I was selling to him, and several small but confusing problems were repaired quickly. The old truck that I bought at the same time had a couple issues which were also quickly repaired. My wife's car was serviced here quickly and efficiently. AND, I saw a 60's(?) Divco truck that was being repaired - which tells me that they can fix most anything you bring them. read more

We sent our son to take his car for an oil change because the sign there says it is $44 including a free car wash, but for our surprise he was charged $99.36 the owner said it was the price for the labor to change the oil and check other stuff in the car that we didn't ask for! How you put a sign on your place that says one price but charge your clients more than double?? It very disrespectful to say the least! We felt cheated and it felt like the owner wanted to take advantage of our inexperienced teenage son! Never going back to this place again and telling all our friends and groups to not go there! Got a "thump thump" from somewhere in your "trunk trunk"...roll yourself right in here. Need a bulb changed and you're not bright enough to fix it yourself...done! Got an irritating squeak that's driving you bonkers..c'mon down! Luis and his staff are so nice and trustworthy! This is the place to come for anything, really: oil changes, repairs, and more. It's a small shop with 2 auto bays...so for a larger job...you may want to call ahead so they're expecting you and can plan accordingly. My Mom has been coming here for years, and I've used Express Auto 5-6 times whenever I'm in Torrance to visit...and they're always fair in price, and fast in service. Had took my Jeep to another mechanic shop and supposedly they "fixed" what ever was wrong with it and the check engine light kept coming back. I decided to bring it here to Express with Karla and her two mechanics and they found the actual problem into why my cars check engine light kept coming back on. After talking with her I was pretty sure the clutch was toast, leaving her and the car stranded in Torrence. We were able to contact my brother-in-law who recommended Luis at Express Auto. Luis confirmed the clutch was a problem and said he could order the parts and have the car ready for pickup the following Wednesday or Thursday. ( Not bad for a 20 year Import ) I called Luis several times to discuss work in progress and he always took the time to talk options and was very knowledgeable about what needed to be done. Added to the original repair was a new clutch master cylinder, (It had a small leak which I already new about) slave cylinder and the two rear brake wheel cylinders were leaking so they were replaced, along with an oil change. The car was ready for pickup the following Thursday and we picked it up and drove it back to the Bay Area without incident. Next day I opened the hood to check the oil and to my surprise the transmission which had been removed to replace the clutch was cleaned and painted. Engine oil was exactly at the full mark. I am very happy about the quality of work and service by Luis and his team, great communication they delivered 110%. read more

I really like this place. I've been coming here off and on for years and whenever I go back I always wonder why I ever stopped. From time to time I used to go to the Toyota dealer because for some reason the fact that it was the "dealer" made them better in my eyes, I was wrong in that thinking. The guys here are so nice and really honest. It's family owned and run and every time I go they are total straight shooters. They don't pressure you to do anything and I never feel taken advantage of. Went today for an oil change and I was out quick. The owner told me to wait and then gave me a calendar and pen, I know its not a pot of gold but little things always make a difference. I recommend to anyone in the Torrance area. read more

He also explained the parts and did not add anything that was not truly needed to the quote. I brought my MINI to them, and then realized that I was able to get the repair covered by MINI at the dealer. Express Auto was very nice when I said I was not going to have them do the repair, and they did not put up a fight or try to convince me otherwise. They quoted me very fair prices. read more

Was having a problem with my '01 S-10, took it to the dealer, they couldn't figure it out, said it was this, that, the other thing. Brought it to Express auto repair, after a friend recommended it. They found the problem, along with some other things the dealer missed and, or probably caused. Needles to say, better service, cheaper than the dealer, and a free car wash. Soooo..... I'm kind of a procrastinator. Even with things that I shouldn't be. Like my car. My change oil light has probably been on for 3 months. I know, I know. Not good for the car. But I got it fixed today alirght???!!! Stop your griping! Anywho, this little place is right by my office. I brought my car in around 11 to have them change the oil. Same price as Jiffy Lube I must add. Left my car there and around 3:00 I realized I still hadn't gotten a call to say the whip was ready. I contacted them to learn that another car had taken much longer than they thought it would and they were just getting ready to work on my car then. Grrrrrrrr......now it's my turn to gripe. Half an hour later I got the call saying that it was ready to go. What made this experience go from a 3 star to a 4 star was that when I got there they explained that I had a special air filter that cost an xtra $10. I knew this, but was hoping it would go unnoticed. Because of the wait they decided to give it to me for free. Yay! You also receive a free car wash from the neighboring car wash with an oil change and they gave me an extra golden ticket for an additional car wash also because I had so patiently waited. Definitely made me a happier girl! It's hard to find a nice mechanic. I've given up on finding one you can trust. But I will jump at the chance for a nice one any day.
