He then spent time getting accurate quotes for each option. I compared one to the dealer and his offer was $2000 less. They had my car for three full weeks, which was far longer than I was originally told. When I finally got my vehicle back, it was in the exact same condition as when I dropped it off--despite being told the spark plugs had been replaced and the issue had been fixed. Not only did I waste weeks without my car, but I now have to take it somewhere else to actually get the problem resolved. When confronted about a refund, the owner ignored our concerns and decided to keep our money even though we didn't agree to replace the spark plugs when we simply wanted a car scan. The lack of communication, the excessive delay, and the fact that the issue wasn't fixed at all made this whole process incredibly frustrating. Well shocker after a couple of hours the car is ready and the bill is $423. Not sure why it didn't end up closer to $300 as he made it seem like $400 would be on the high side. Not sure what it would have cost elsewhere but I probably should have made a couple of calls to find out. It appears the job was adequately done though so 3 stars. Would have been 4-5 if price wasn't the high end of the numbers estimated. Also a very difficult place to get in and out of.

The person that you definitely want to speak with is Marco, he's the owner. Well over a year and a half ago I was experiencing hesitation problems with my 2014 Ford Focus. Other transmission repair shops said that the problem was related to the transmission control module and that I needed to take my car to the Ford dealership. The mechanics at the Ford dealership said that the transmission control module was working okay and that I needed to do a transmission rebuild or overhaul ($3000 plus) including replacing the engine mounts. My car barely had 32,000 miles on it. I paid Ford their diagnostic fee ($200) and I left. Fortunately I discovered Lomita Transmission and it's highly knowledgeable owner. Marco did a thorough check of my car transmission and verified that the transmission control module needed replacing and that a transmission overhaul or rebuild wasn't even needed. He got the people at Ford to replace the transmission control module at no cost, since it was covered under an extra warranty program. I paid Marco his diagnostic fee ($200) and I had him change out the transmission fluid for an extra ($200). My car has been running fine ever since. Thank you, Marco.

Three weeks ago I bought a used Ford Explorer to utilize in my mobile business. I noticed it had some shifting issues. I took it to AAMCO to get diagnosed. They right away let me know what it was and how long it would take and how much it would cost to fix. As previous times, I trusted AAMCO with my Explorer and told them to go ahead and correct everything that needed correction. They rebuilt the transmission, 4 X4 & transfer case. Best thing is that they kept me in the loop. Informed me of the progress and let me know ETA of finished job. All I can say is that it is very nice to have a repair shop like AAMCO , where you don't have to babysit them. I have had other auto mechanic shops misdiagnose a symptom that later cost me more to fix. The bottom line is that nowadays it is hard to find a reliable, knowledgable, honest & dependable auto repair shop. AAMCO Harbor City is all that and more. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Don't settle for anything less when it comes to your car!

I have a Toyota Sienna 2012 and the timing case seal developed a oil leak and they have to remove the motor to reseal the timing case cover. After oil change was done, they did a free multi-point inspection and sent me a comprehensive report - including pictures to prove the inspection was actually done. They told me about an alignment that needed to be done, and was very honest about the situation. They said it's not a huge emergency to fix yet, but I decided to do it anyways to save another trip to the mechanic. They did the alignment in another 2 hours and picked me up when it was done.
