Can't rely on their schedule. Had a 4:30 pm booked from ohare to Hammond . My flight from Cleveland was delayed. Tried to book the 8:30 shuttle from O'Hare earlier that day and was told it's been cancelled. Had to Uber instead for $120. Same thing happened once before, but they were accommodating , and made arrangements to pickup myself and another stranded passenger. I have used their service three times and had problems twice. Gosh, they have a yelp!? I am surprised but would love to share my 2017 story of using this service back when I was going to Purdue. This was a service I stopped using because of an incident. The driver was nice and very good at driving. The problem was the company last second let a drunk violent man on the small shuttle last minute. Let me tell you, this guy lunged at me because he was in the mood to be violent after a long screaming phone call he had on his phone. When I called to complain about the ride, I was told they NEVER let drunk people on the shuttles and that it is always on video in every shuttle. They dont tell you they have cameras on every shuttle and I asked if I could obtain the footage with a lawyer to sue the man who attacked me. They danced around that question. So disappointed. The shuttle didn't come without the notice in advance. The customer service explained to me they sold the ticket for the shuttle was not scheduled in the first place and I need to find another way to go airport by myself. Because of this, I missed my international flight and needed to pay $650 more to book an alternative flight. If I could give them 0 stars I would. I made my reservation more than 24 hours in advance. I never received a confirmation or cancelation. I arrived 30 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time of 12:40pm and waited 40 minutes past the scheduled pick-up time. They never came and never called to cancel. I would not recommend this airport shuttle. My experience with this company has left with a resolve to never book with EAC again. I booked a round trip ticket and all went well on the way to the airport. Unfortunately, on my return trip from O'Hare to West Lafayette, the shuttle left without us. My travel partner and I arrived at the designated pick up location at the designated time but somehow missed the the shuttle bus. There was no number to call and we did not receive a call from the bus driver. Every other airport shuttle I have utilized has always called to inquire if I was still going to make the shuttle. It was quite devastating to return from a long trip only to be abandoned at the airport in the evening when no other shuttles could be booked. I was forced to spend $250 on a rental car just to be able to get home. In addition, the customer service representative was not able to offer me any insights into the reason for the shuttle leaving without us nor was she able to offer me any kind of concession or credit for the missed shuttle. She said that credits were only given if an email was received within 24 hrs of the missed shuttle. This information was not available anywhere. I had waited longer than 24 hrs to deal with the matter because the phone messaging system indicated that customer service was only available M - F during normal business hrs and the incident occurred on a Friday evening. It made sense to me to hold off on my inquiry until I could speak with a representative. I would absolutely never book with this shuttle again for fear of being abandoned at the airport. Not to mention, the unreasonable and unaccommodating customer service policy. That missed shuttled ended up costing me $300 (price of shuttle that I was unable to use & cost of rental car to get home). Never again. read more

I am a Purdue student. I was on my way to Chicago ORD. I missed my international flight because of the delay (2.5 hours) caused by their shuttle service. The bus had an engine overheating problem. They repeatedly pulled over and put water to cool the engine down on the highway. I asked them several times how much delay they could expect, so I could change my flight depending on their estimation. But all they said were: "I don't know," "we are trying our best," and "we will leave as quickly as possible." They never announced to the passengers to explain what exactly happened to the bus and how long the delay would be. Although I missed my flight because of the delay, this shuttle company is NOT in charge of anything. On their tickets, they print "EAC is not responsible for delayed arrivals or departures due to unforeseen mechanical mishaps..." I understand something bad could happen in life and this company is not an exception. But, they have to at least let the people know what is going on and how much the delay would be, so the passengers can take actions to minimize the bad impact. They can't just say "we are doing our best." Also, they should have a legal statement on their tickets like "if delay caused by shuttle service is more than a certain period of time X, we take responsibility of Y and Z." Our Fraternity recently contracted with Express Air Coach for an big event in West Lafayette (to celebrate 100 years of our chapter at Purdue) which required the transportation of over 200 guests between local hotels, our Fraternity and Ross Ade Shively Stadium Club. The drivers were on-time, professional, provided excellent customer service and safely transported our guests by ensuring they were picked up and dropped off at the designated locations. Really disappointed in the customer service I received after my fathers flight was canceled due to blizzard Nemo. Wish they would be like other companies like united airlines and Amtrak that gave full refunds without any fees even though it was outside of their regular policies. Unfortunately, I don't know how well the rest of the company runs because I only had experience with the lead customer service rep. Since graduating from Purdue I've moved to Boston and have my parents go to Chicago ohare often. Apparently the bus silently parks there to pick up people then silently leaves, if you weren't looking out the window at the right time you miss your bus. No phone call, no notification of any kind. I missed the bus at the O'hare shuttle center after waiting for hours. It would've been easy for the driver to take 30 seconds to come in and call for people (as so many other buses do) or give a quick phone call to those missing on the reservation list, who may just be sitting there waiting. If they really want to do this silent thing, then at least make a significant note of it in the ticket so customers watch out for it. Any of the above tiny things can save the hours of trouble a missed bus can cause. There's also no customer support during that time, no way to know the status of your bus. read more

I was a bit confused as to where the bus was picking me up - the pickup location was printed to be "Altgeld Hall" but was more accurately the transit plaza by the book store. Close enough, but in the middle of the night I couldn't see any buses from where I was waiting. Just when I started panicking about not seeing any buses the bus driver called me up and told me exactly where he was waiting. It was a small shuttle van with only 5 passengers, me included. The driving was great and the bus was comfortable. Other pros: direct to airport (no stops in the suburbs) Cons: expensive (about 50% more), fewer scheduled times, wifi wasn't working at first but the driver fixed that as soon as we let him know. read more

Took the shuttle from Hammond, driver Chris took the time to call to advise he was ready and his exact location. On return trip Dave was at door 4/bus center (Ohare) ready for pick up. He also called passengers to advise he was coming. Will definitely use the service again. read more

Worst experience of my life. I took a shuttle from West Lafayette to O'Hare on 10/8. 30 min away from the airport, the shuttle broke down in the middle of the freeway. The bus driver got out of the bus and left us for 15 min without saying a word to diagnose the problem which ended up being a broken pipe(very dangerous) and told us that we have no way of getting to the airport and cannot leave but there would be another shuttle arriving in an unknown period of time. I ended up forming a group with a couple other people and we took an uber that had to navigate to the middle of the freeway and pick us up and somehow ended up making my flight by running through the airport. I understand that these things happen, but this company handled this situation terribly. The bus driver did not try to help a single time, and I never got refunded for the 70$ uber. Instead they gave me a free shuttle ticket and did not cover the difference between the uber and the shuttle. This is so disrespectful of the stress caused by the situation and the fact that I don't feel safe using this shuttle company ever again as they obviously don't take the maintenance of the buses seriously. The customer service rep explained this to me as they confirmed that they are not responsible for any delays which has me extremely confused because then I have no idea what I'm paying for- if not a shuttle to get me to the airport ON TIME for my flight. Most to all of the people on the bus were on the way to the airport- how is a shuttle company not responsible for them missing their flights? I arrived at the pick up spot 30 minutes before it leaves, there's no sign, no phone call and no notification of any kind. I checked all the bus outside and none of them has a sign showing its from EAC. I called them when it was the time and I didn't get on the bus but the custom service told me that it might be late. I waited another 20 minutes until I finally figured out that the bus already left, wasted 2 hours waiting for the next one. The customer service doesn't even know if the bus left or not. read more

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYSSS COME LATE!!! From 15min to 45 min would be your waiting time for their delay, especially from OHare to Purdue. Yeah, I know that traffic is bad (even Saturday morning?) or the wind is too strong (summer nice non-windy days?), but I'm sorry that I'm a very impatient person! However, sometimes I appreciated that the lateness helped me to catch the shuttle bus even after a major flight delay, therefore one star for that. We've used their service to Chicago ORD several times and were always happy. They are roughly on time (if weather permits), the buses are fairly new and in great shape, the drivers are friendly and helpful. While the price is a little on the higher end of what I'd like to pay (especially if multiple people are travelling) the price is great for what you get. I warmly recommend them. read more

EAC Shuttle = No Service!!!!. I had a confirmed pick up at 5:40PM last Friday. There was no show up, and waited for additional hour as thought there maybe traffic or accident that slow their arrival The main issue is there is no one to call. Their customer service number switch to an answering machine after hours. I was lucky to find another service available and willing to take a walk in. However imagine of this was my college kid instead of me stranded in the airport at night in the cold with limited options. THE WORSE part is calling them on the following Monday. THEY SIMPLE SAID THESE TICKETS ARE NON REFUNDABLE despite acknowledging I was not on the bus. A NICE WAY TO RIP OFF PEOPLE !!!! read more

Express Air Coach had a bus break down not far from Purdue University on Friday October 5, 2012. The 6:00pm bus to Oak Brook. They told us that it would be around 4hrs. for another bus. I wonder how often this happens? They will not refund any tickets. Some of us had to find another way home. Did not feel safe the bus was smoking and they had us stay on board. My flight was delayed, and not surprisingly, the driver did not wait for me. Then I took a one way rental and drove back to Lafayette. I called them to see whether I could get a refund. They said, no, because I had missed the 24 hour window. I understand that they have rules and so on and so forth, but some of these rules simply do not make any sense. I would never recommend anyone around me to choose the service. This was really an awful trip. I waited the bus for almost an hour and it did not come. I didn't receive any call about why it was delayed ( then why are we filling our phone numbers when we book the tickets?). Then I called the customer service, the man who answered the phone was very rude and when I asked questions he was like not care at all. When I finally got onto the bus and on my way, the first thing the driver did was driving to a petrol station.. (huh.. why weren't they do this in advance???). My daughter attended a wheelchair basketball camp at U of Illinois, Champaign. She and her friend needed to get from O'Hare airport to U of I. After calling a company called Illini Shuttle/ Suburban Express (DO NOT USE Illini/Suburban Express!!!) and telling them that my daughter and her friend have three wheelchairs between the two of them, I booked a ride with Illini Shuttle which ended up being an incredibly nasty affair. So for the return trip I called EAC and the rep on the phone, Natalie, said that off course they will accommodate wheelchairs. (!) She was nice, sweet, and easy going. What a relief! This is the company to use! The girls were picked up by EAC on time, by a very nice driver, Tony. Then my daughter forgot her wallet on the bus... By the time she realized she was inside the terminal, the shuttle gone, and the EAC main office was closed... But then I got a frantic phone call from Tony, and then from a guy named Henry. Turns out that Tony tried to go back to the terminal when he found the wallet. He really made an effort to locate my daughter. Both Henry and Tony were wonderful!!! Since my daughter was already on the plane when all this happened, Henry offered to mail us the wallet. He mailed it NEXT DAY service and refused my offer to pay for the shipping. THIS COMPANY IS GOLD!!! When my daughter (hopefully) goes to U of I, I know which shuttle company she'll use!!!! I REPEAT: DO NOT USE ILLINI SHUTTLE COMPANY/ SUBURBAN EXPRESS.
