When asked for feedback -- any feedback -- on my child's school activities, I was told, "no news is good news". When I requested once again for a two-minute stand-up conversation once a week when picking up my child, I was told that if they did it for me, they had to do it for every parent. Is that such a bad thing? As a parent paying a significant amount to send a child to a private montessori, I didn't feel it an unreasonable request for a teacher to talk to me and tell me about my child's day. When dropping my child off or picking her up, I was rarely acknowledged by the staff (not even a, "Hi"). The month that I volunteered to read with the children one day a week, the two owners never greeted me, acknowledged me, or thanked me at the end for my time. Thankfully another teacher at the school recognized that I had no idea what my volunteer duties were, and showed me what I was to do. At the end of the year, I couldn't wait for school to be over. Needless to say, we won't be returning. This was by far the worst scholastic experience...ever! I would never, ever recommend Blue Mountain.

I have two kids here and we started over 4 years ago -- I've had a kid in every single room at this school, from early infant to private kindergarten, and many of the same teachers have been there the whole time. My kids love it. They are happy to go to school in the morning, and typically not ready to leave at the end of the day. I am so grateful for Primrose School of Erie!

Our younger boy started in the same school when he was 10 month old in 2014. Now they are 7 and 4, and our older one is in elementary school now. We love Primrose! Our boys always have wonderful time with Primrose. With caring teachers, wonderful staff, great curriculum, our boys have been growing into very confident, caring, and loving kids. They love their teachers. They love to make friends. They grew up with some good friends from infant classrooms to Pre-K or Kindergarten and they still have play dates and miss each other outside of the school. They love circles times and small groups everyone. They have learnt so much in school and often amazed us! Primrose has been an important part of our life in the last few years. We trust this school so much because we know our little ones would have great time there everyday. And if they have any issues, there are someone caring in school who is going to take care of them and to discuss issues with us. We are glad we made great choice to send our boys to this school a few years ago and strongly recommend this school to new parents! Thanks

A Warning for Parents of Neurodivergent or ESL Children…read more My experience here was traumatic. If I could give zero stars, I would. We attended before my son's autism diagnosis, and he was treated with a shocking lack of empathy. The owner actually called me to claim my son had a 'medical tic'--which was actually just a self-soothing raspberry-blowing behavior he only did when he was extremely stressed by their environment. I witnessed systemic neglect: children who spoke English as a second language were left to sit alone without interaction, and toddlers were left to sob inconsolably after drop-off with no comfort from staff. I actually had to step in and hug a crying child myself because the teachers wouldn't. Most concerning was the lack of respect for parental boundaries and age-appropriate care. When my 3-year-old was nervous about potty training, I requested he wear a pull-up for one day to build his confidence. Instead, the staff spent 30 minutes of his school day forcing him back into underwear against my explicit instructions. Unless your child is neurotypical and requires no emotional support, stay away. This is not a safe or inclusive environment.

I love the balance of outdoor time, art, music, social emotional learning, and gentle exploration of academic learning. To top it off, there is a great community of kind families each year!

I'm supposed to assume that credits without clear labeling on my ex's statement are my amount owed. "Hey, you should have asked for clarity"...I agree, so I did...REPEATEDLY. And, none was given. The Director of this "school" couldn't be bothered to take the time to actually respond to me for 6 weeks. She just kept resending the same invoices with no context provided. "You should have noticed a building balance on the invoices"...totally, only there's no balance on the statements that they sent in my ex's name, literally $0 on the balance line, so there's no past-due amount to settle - despite me repeatedly asking to do exactly that. When the school's director requested that we meet to untangle the mess, she couldn't be bothered to attend the meeting that she requested. No notice. No apology. Instead of meeting with me, she just sent out another invoice in my ex's name with a $0 balance as if that clarified anything. Her assistant verified that and expressed confusion as well, said that she'd have the Director follow up, and...that never happened either. Find a better facility for your children, this one ain't it.
