My references shared that the process was very time-consuming, and I truly appreciated the effort they put in to support me. During this time, I was transparent that I was actively looking for my next nanny position and that finding a new role was important due to changes with my current family. After completing the process, I did not feel supported in my search. I was rarely contacted about opportunities that aligned with what I was looking for, and when I proactively reached out about positions listed on their job board, communication was often inconsistent. There were multiple occasions where I did not receive a response, could not reach someone by phone, or was told that positions still listed as open had already been filled and needed to be updated. When I needed to begin my search again after my previous nanny contract ended, I reached out once more and provided updated information, but unfortunately experienced many of the same communication challenges. While they did eventually reach out about a couple of opportunities, I never progressed to an interview or placement through ABC Nannies. Ultimately, I found my nanny position through another local agency, and the experience was completely different. They took the time to understand what I was looking for, communicated consistently, and made me feel supported and advocated for throughout the process. I understand agencies work with many families and candidates and cannot guarantee placement. However, nannies are also relying on agencies during important career transitions, and clear communication is incredibly important. After completing the steps required to join the nanny pool, I was disappointed that I did not feel supported throughout the process. I hope ABC Nannies takes feedback like this seriously and continues working toward improving communication and the overall experience for nanny candidates.

However, this proved extremely time-consuming, yielded few qualified applicants, and resulted in someone we tried to hire backing out last minute, leaving us with just two weeks before our current childcare ended... with no nanny, no additional qualified applicants, and no time or energy left for the search (since it was a busy time for me at work). At that point, we contracted with Kiddie Up to help us find a nanny for our nanny share. Just one day after signing the contract, Maggie set up a conference call with me and the other mom and posted the position posted right away. Within four days of signing the contract, Maggie sent us four qualified applicants and we started interviews right away. During and after our nanny search, Maggie was extremely communicative via email, always answering my questions within 24 hours but usually much faster. The nannies who applied to our position through Kiddie Up were of a MUCH higher caliber than any we found on our own. All of them had already passed a background check, completed an interview with Maggie, and had their references checked before we received their applications. I feel extremely thankful that we found our amazing and experienced nanny among those applicants. She has been working for us for four weeks now and has far exceeded our expectations in every single way! Without Maggie and Kiddie Up, we never would have found her. Maggie also helped us with contract negotiations and set us up with a wonderful, experienced temporary nanny who worked for just my family during the two weeks before our permanent nanny could start. If you want to hire a professional nanny, I highly recommend contracting with Maggie and Kiddie Up Nannies. Their services are well worth the cost and much more reasonable than other agencies. The negative reviews are the exact opposite of my experience with Maggie and Kiddie Up. If in doubt, I suggest you email Maggie yourself to see what kind of response you receive. I regret not putting my son into her care when I first had the opportunity, because I can see a difference of discipline in my son compared to my daughter. JillMatie loves having external teachers come and teach the kids. There was a music teacher, and outdoors teacher, and right now they have a Spanish teacher, which just helps motivate my daughter when I'm teaching her at home! I'm sure there have been more teachers, I just can't remember them off the top of my head, right now. All around, JillMarie loves her families. I can attest to that. I feel like an extended part of her family. There's a little garden she and the kids work on. The kids do cute artsy projects, and more. I feel like she is a top homecare-provider. So far, we love: - getting photos, updates, and teacher communications via the app - he's napping SO much better here than at his previous daycare (sleeping baby = happy/healthy baby = happy parents) - he's really comfortable with his teachers and fellow classmates already - lunch is provided (we pack his lunch, but I like having the option to switch him over in the future) - the kids, parents, and administrators are so friendly and happy (D'Arla even texted me pictures of our guy and checked in in him his first few days!) - it's VERY safe: I love the checkin/checkout policies and procedures (they are SUPER intuitive and safe) - the hours are flexible: as a dual working-parent household, we love that the center is open for ~11 hours/day. We would never want him to be there for that many hours, but we LOVE the flexibility the hours provide. AND they don't shame parents, no matter what times you pickup/drop off (our experience at our previous daycare) - bonus: they take credit cards (yay, points) and you can set it up to pay tuition automatically (as parents, we have so much on our minds already)! Yeah, they've been up and down over the years, but the consistent trend is constant improvement. For the money, there isn't a better deal for hockey anywhere nearby. Members get drop-in hockey at no additional charge and league games at very reasonable prices. I brought my son out to the learn-to-skate program when he was three. When it turned out he wasn't quite ready (which he proved by sitting on the ice crying for 30 minutes), the skating staff cheerfully offered him a free session when he was a little older. Most of the staff is very friendly and helpful. I've always felt secure leaving my son with the child-watch staff. They even were kind enough to watch him for an extra fifteen minutes once when I didn't realize my hockey game went beyond their closing time. The weight room is also very nice with a fair assortment of free weights complimenting a solid number of weight machines, treadmills, stationary bikes ellipticals and such. There is also a good sized gym and indoor running track. Of course the Y offers a number of fitness classes as well if you're interested in a little motivation. In all, I'm very pleased that I found the Y after playing at other venues for years. I was disgruntled by the way programs were run at nearby rinks, but I wouldn't have found the Y if they'd done a better job.

Including having a child who qualifies for speech and language services but is able to say "cheers" in Serbian and Irish as well as basic greetings in both languages. We so appreciate this program and the candidates that we have had that matched with our family. We have had an opportunity already to go to Ireland (last November) as well as an open invitation to Serbia! We have gotten to celebrate Orthodox Christmas and Easter and found a whole subculture (Serbian) literally in our backyard that we did not know existed until Our family participated in this program. This agency has been very easy to work with, and because it is relatively small I feel like any concerns we've had, or our AuPairs have faced, they've worked with us willingly to help. We would (and have) recommended both AuPairs generally, and this agency specifically to others in our area. It truly can be a cultural exchange and for that we're thankful.
