Kiddie Up Nannies

Kiddie Up Nannies

I owe my sanity and my career to Maggie at Kiddie Up Nannies and the amazing nanny we found through…read moreher! After deciding to start a nanny share with another family, we initially thought that we could save ourselves some money and hire a nanny ourselves by advertising for the position on websites like Care.com and Facebook. However, this proved extremely time-consuming, yielded few qualified applicants, and resulted in someone we tried to hire backing out last minute, leaving us with just two weeks before our current childcare ended... with no nanny, no additional qualified applicants, and no time or energy left for the search (since it was a busy time for me at work). At that point, we contracted with Kiddie Up to help us find a nanny for our nanny share. Just one day after signing the contract, Maggie set up a conference call with me and the other mom and posted the position posted right away. Within four days of signing the contract, Maggie sent us four qualified applicants and we started interviews right away. During and after our nanny search, Maggie was extremely communicative via email, always answering my questions within 24 hours but usually much faster. The nannies who applied to our position through Kiddie Up were of a MUCH higher caliber than any we found on our own. All of them had already passed a background check, completed an interview with Maggie, and had their references checked before we received their applications. I feel extremely thankful that we found our amazing and experienced nanny among those applicants. She has been working for us for four weeks now and has far exceeded our expectations in every single way! Without Maggie and Kiddie Up, we never would have found her. Maggie also helped us with contract negotiations and set us up with a wonderful, experienced temporary nanny who worked for just my family during the two weeks before our permanent nanny could start. If you want to hire a professional nanny, I highly recommend contracting with Maggie and Kiddie Up Nannies. Their services are well worth the cost and much more reasonable than other agencies. The negative reviews are the exact opposite of my experience with Maggie and Kiddie Up. If in doubt, I suggest you email Maggie yourself to see what kind of response you receive. I trust that you will find her to be professional and communicative in every way.

I regret not putting my son into her care when I first had the opportunity, because I can see a difference of discipline in my son compared to my daughter. JillMatie loves having external teachers come and teach the kids. There was a music teacher, and outdoors teacher, and right now they have a Spanish teacher, which just helps motivate my daughter when I'm teaching her at home! I'm sure there have been more teachers, I just can't remember them off the top of my head, right now. All around, JillMarie loves her families. I can attest to that. I feel like an extended part of her family. There's a little garden she and the kids work on. The kids do cute artsy projects, and more. I feel like she is a top homecare-provider. C.V.C. feels professional, and clean. JillMarie puts so much effort into making sure the kids are getting quality care. She's the real deal. I'm glad C.V.C. and JillMarie exist!!!

Knowing that our daughter was in a place that provided a such a loving, comfortable environment made the transition a breeze for our whole family. There is a great mix of learning through play, music, art, and time outdoors. Above all, this was our daughter's second home. A place that we always knew she was safe, secure, and loved. We will truly miss JillMarie and CVC.

After…read morebeing at home with Mom and Grandma for the first 7 months of my daughter's life, I was nervous and stressed about the transition of taking my baby girl to day care for the first time. After doing research on the best facilities across Broomfield, Louisville, Lafayette and Erie, I decided on Little Sunshine's and am SO GLAD that I did. Miss Gini (Asst Director) made the process from enrollment to first day attendance feel comfortable and simple, easing my worries tremendously. Miss Lori and Miss Brooke (along with the help of Miss Adrienne) in the Infant 2 room have been the BIGGEST blessings! My little girl loved them from the first week she started. Making it so much easier for me to drop her each day and go to work knowing she is in good hands and loves her teachers. They are always engaging and have done everything they can to help ease my mind and keep my little girl happy. They are flexible and communicative and very sweet with all of the kids. Cannot say enough positive things about this dream team! Also, their proprietary phone app, LuvNotes is AWESOME! The teachers post pictures and notes of my daughters activities throughout the day, when she eats, naps and has a diaper change, which definitely helps mamas like me get peace of mind and reduce the mom guilt. SHOUT OUT TO MISS LORI and MISS BROOKE - ya'll are the BEST! Thank you for being you!!

After that, we received no communication for 14 months. When we finally reached out, Little Sunshine reneged on their promise of part-time care and had no opening available as originally assured. When we asked for a refund (given that we paid the fee based on inaccurate information) we were told the fee is non-refundable, even though staff acknowledged that multiple families have expressed similar frustrations about misleading waitlist practices. We were promised a follow-up from a higher-up, but no one ever called. In our view, the $350 waitlist fee was paid under deceptive and misleading circumstances, and the lack of communication and accountability has been very disappointing.

Our au pair also said she felt like they were very difficult. They talk very disrespectfully to us once they take our money and make it difficult to communicate with them. I have actually been hung up on and avoided for months. I am so glad I switched agencies. I realized what a big difference there was in professionalism! We love our new agency and I wish I knew this years ago.

Au Pair International is probably the worst agency out there. First, look at how they advertise or…read moremarket: They require a $650 fee just to apply (no other agency I checked with has an application fee more than $100), but on their website, they induce you to apply by saying the fee will be waived if you apply be the end of the month. Next month, and every month after that has the same "promotion". Our local coordination, Michelle Hom, is lazy and lies. She never bothered to check our house until after we paid and completed the agreement (the agency is supposed to check before in case your room does not qualify). She then comes to our house and start telling us bad things about Au Pairs, for example, they come here either to play with boys, learn English, or make money - nothing to do with enjoying taking care of children. Other Au Pairs told me that she plays the Au Pairs against the host family as well. They only care if you sign the contract and pay the money because once you pay the money, if you decide to cancel later, you are mostly SOL. No matter what complaints they have received of the Au Pairs, they do not care, but want to rematch them as quickly as possible because the data on the Au Pairs is reported to the State Dept as required by law. For example, if they have a high percentage of Au Pairs who have to return to their country before the end of their contract, it will raise concern among the State Dept. Ilka and Katrina are also complicit. Most of the Au Pairs they have are from South America (such as Argentina). My advice is to stay from these Au Pairs. They are rarely here to babysit or learn English. They come largely for one reasons - you can guess what it is. Our former Au Pair, Valentina, is like that.
