Deer Park Brides and Brides On A COVID-19 Budget:
Be weary of Expert Tailor & Alterations
They were the first tailor who actually said they could work on my dress. All the others i had seen said that they couldn't. So even though the building was a house, and the inside looked like a tornado had passed through, I let them take my dress. Simply because I have had experience with other services being done in similar houses and businesses, sometimes they are a diamond in the ruff! This experience, however, was NOT.
It is literally the worst tailor experience I've ever had. With only a week out from my wedding, my dress and my daughters dress is still not done.
They've had it for months, since July 21st to be exact, and on several visits was told "next time, it'll be ready to take home." It has never been ready. The last time we were there for it to be picked up and taken home, they overstitched the bust and never bothered to add the bustle. My daughters dress only needed her sleeves taken in. That's it. Apparently that simple task couldn't be done by this team. The lace is fraying literally everywhere on my dress, but I refused to tell them because that is how scared I was for them to have scissors near my dress.
Finally, I couldn't stand it anymore and have picked up the dresses tonight to take them to a proper seamstress who can actually do the work and not have my anxiety through the roof. Even though my wedding is in 6 days! They did not care to do the work properly. THE CHEAP PRICES ARENT WORTH THE CHEAP WORK ON YOUR WEDDING DRESS.
***Also for my fellow Plus Size Ladies, if you want to feel degraded, this is the perfect place to go! The tailor will literally get on the floor and show you exercises that you "need to do at home." I am a very curvy woman with huge thighs to match my large bust. I was degraded for nearly 10 minutes when the appointment didn't even last 15. I could not get a word in and was on the verge of tears but my dress was "almost done," so I put up with it. Had she let me speak, she would've found out that I have lost nearly 60 lbs in the past 10 months. That may not seem like a lot, but for someone who has worked her ass off and has struggled her whole life with taking the weight off and keeping it off, I felt like a failure all over again. It had me hating my body, my dress, and my entire confidence that had been built up slowly was shattered. Queue the anxiety attack the very moment I got home and was in a safe environment to let my emotions take control.***
Highly unprofessional and DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more
