These people are the best of the best! I have been coming to Experience since they opened and, I recommend their services to all of my friends and family. I love the personalization and the comfort at knowing that they know my name, learned what I like, and ensure that I am always taken care of. Whoever rated this salon at anything below a 5-star rating needs a reality check. read more

I've been coming here for several years now and couldn't be happier. Every person is so nice and the staff is all talented. Becca is a bubbly hair genius and my son sees Josh and tells everyone how he's the best. The place is cute and cozy with all the amenities you need. read more

I wrote to request an appointment on Monday. It is now Friday and no contact. The ratings for the shop are good. One would think they would want the business. read more

I'm not the type to get haircuts often but i decided to stop in here for my recent chop and I was not disappointed. The whole shop smelt and looked very nice. The woman at the front desk was very sweet and attentive offering myself and family many drink options. Lauren cut my hair and was friendly and did a great job! read more

Fantastic experience! I was hunting for a new "go to" salon in the Southport/Greenwood area. I'm so glad I found this spot! It's located in a house-like structure, so it has its own parking and is away from other foot traffic. I was greeted with such a positive attitude and offered a cup of tea while I waited. A mini facial was offered, and my hair was washed in a very lovely separate area. The head massage was so, so nice! My stylist was very polite and personable, and we achieve the exact results I was looking for. They have an open house coming up soon in March 2023, which I plan to attend for some discounts! I made another appointment before leaving, and they even gave me my tea to go! Can't recommended it enough. read more

Hurray, small local businesses that think globally! Great service, great products (Davines creates superior products in a sustainable way), pricey but you get what you pay for. It took Josh about a year to understand exactly what I wanted with regard to haircut -- I don't doubt a bunch of that was insufficiently clear communication on my part. But he's always been a star when it comes to color. (My red hair is fading into grey with age, and I am stubbornly refusing to let go of my ginger-ness.) My hair loves the products, too, and is healthier than it has been for years. The facilities are elegant and comfortable, and all-electronic everything is available (yay! I hate paper). Currently, the business is limiting the number of people allowed in, to make social distancing easier -- hurray, common-sense protection for staff and clientele! Anyhow, I recommend looking into the programs they have in place for regular clients (they can offer substantial discounts). Thanks for keeping my hair looking great, y'all! read more

I rarely write reviews but this needs to be put out there. I called the salon saying I wanted to get my hair dye, and was going to ask all the questions beforehand but they just asked my phone number and not even my full name only my first name and they told me they will call me later but it's been more than 3 days and still haven't got the call. Which makes me very frustrated because if they couldn't accept me or done what I wanted they could've told me so that I can go to another Salon but they never did. This is honestly so embarrassing and unprofessional for the salon, I really thought I picked the right salon! read more

I go to Experience A Hair Spa to get my hair cut by Aleshia. She always does such a wonderful job and it is always such a wonderful experience. I also had them do my wedding hair and makeup. Maggie and Aleshia did hair and Rachel did makeup. They arrived on time, were fun and bubbly and helped bring our vision to life. My hair and makeup lasted all day long. I even wore a veil and when I put it in and took it out my hair was fine. I am so happy I chose them to be a part of my big day! read more

I've been a customer at Experience for just over a year and have NEVER been late to an appointment! I had haircut appointments for my two teen daughters at 2:30 p.m. My daughters physical therapy appointment ran over. Experience called me at 2:36 p.m. to verify we were still coming. I told the receptionist our previous appointment ran over and that we were on our way. As I am driving in my car Angela, their receptionist, is blowing up my phone. I am driving, trying to make it to our appointment so I cannot safely communicate with them. Angela sends me a text message at 2:43 p.m. stating "We have a 15 min cancellation policy. If the girls are not here by 2:45 p.m. we will need to cancel and get them reschedule," Immediately followed by "I'm going to have to cancel their appointments for today." She didn't even wait until 2:45 p.m. to cancel the appointments. Again, I am driving so I cannot respond. I arrive at Experience at 2:47 p.m. I am told our appointment has been cancelled and I am being charged a $25 cancellation fee. I asked to speak with the owner, Maggie. When I spoke with her, she was very unprofessional and rude on the phone. I tried explaining my situation. She had no empathy and did not care about me as a customer. She just kept going on and on about how customers don't show up for appointments and how much time they spend on reminders (this is the price of doing business). She stated I should've been in constant communication with them (Experience) and she did not care that I was driving. She didn't care about me as a customer at all! Experience has lost 3 customers! read more

I absolutely have found my permanent hair salon! Becca was my stylist and was so fun to hang out with. By the time I left not only did I feel like I had a new best friend, but I felt that she gave me a ton of professional recommendations for my hair that really paid off. I came in with hair about halfway down my back that was brown/blonde ombré. In the past I had tried multiple Indy salons and was paying so much ($350+) for cuts and color that underwhelmed. I told Becca I was ready for a change and she totally blew me away. I cut nearly nine inches off my length and never once had that "what have I done?!" moment looking in the mirror. The final cut and color is a showstopper and easy to style! Plus it was nowhere near what I paid at other salons I've tried. I also loved their *natural* product line- it smelled amazing and left my hair very touchable. They also had this swanky shampoo room with dim lighting and spa music. I didn't accept any but they offered drinks (water coffee) and light snacks. Very appreciated if you are there for a few hours! I absolutely recommend and hope Becca doesn't book up too quickly! read more

Best experience I have ever had at a salon. I was immediately greeted by the lovely receptionist and even offered a drink while I wait! I felt very welcomed and comfortable. Josh was my stylist and did an incredible job. He took the time to listen to what I wanted done with my hair and talked through the whole process about what to expect, even how to care for me hair afterwards. The shampoo experience was amazing with a scalp massage and a mini facial. Josh was also very fun and made great conversation about some of our shared interests. I had a very enjoyable experience and would recommend this salon to anyone! I felt appreciated and welcomed as a client. read more

I had a good experience here. Haley was amazing and did a fantastic job. She answered all my questions appropriately and gave me good advice on how to style and care for my hair. Rest of the staff were all nice which made the atmosphere welcoming. On a side note, I even received a thank you card in the mail from the owner! Goes to show they really care about their customers. Will definitely stop by again! read more

Maggie is amazing and always knows exactly what to do with my hair! Would recommend anyone in the salon for any service!

I cannot brag enough about how much I LOVE this place! it's an upscale salon with hometown prices. Aleshia is amazing and I would highly recommend booking with her! I get my lash extensions here and refuse to have anyone else touch them. The staff is friendly and has expert knowledge! read more

Haley was my hairstylist. She was absolutely wonderful. The minute I walked in the salon I was greeted by friendly staff and everyone had smiles on their faces. Haley was very friendly and we had so much in common. I referred my sister, Jenny Blevins, and she had such a great experience as well. I'm so glad I found the right salon for me. read more

Was not impressed at all. Recently relocated here from another state. After researching YELP & reading their website. I was excited for my first time appointment with this salon. I went in for a haircut. After consulting with the stylist. She stated. " All you had to say was a short pixie cut." I thought it was rude. I proceeded to tell her that there are different styles to a pixie cut. She did an awful job. I felt she rushed the appointment. I even told her I wasn't really satisfied. Still unhappy the next day & heading out of town for a week. I called to see if she could fix some problem areas. Give another chance. Nope. She did not have "time" to help me. The price definitely did not reflect the experience, professionalism, & finish product. They do have a clean space. I have found an amazing new salon & stylist. read more

I had my first hair cut experience at this location and I was impressed. Greeted very kindly and offered a beverage. Then I got my haircut and I was offered a facial! I had never had a facial before and it meant the world to me! I like how the shampoo area is private, dark, and a relaxing experience. My haircut was nice, love my bangs, but I did have a little piece of hair that was longer on one side so I had to fix that home which was not a biggie. Then I received a thank you card from the owner and it was a really nice touch! So keep doing these little things, they mean a lot and I will be coming back again! read more

Have been coming to Experience for about 2 1/2 years now. My stylist is Josh and I truly trust him totally! He takes time each visit to see what I want or need to change. But honestly I just sit down and trust him! Have NEVER been unhappy with any service. It is the most honest and professional salon. read more

My first time at this salon and I am so happy I chose it! I have been trying new places, after my usual and trusted beautician stopped working. I picked this salon with Siri and this is it! The ambiance is nice and relaxed, the people are all very friendly and Rachel did an excellent job with my hair, despite all my requests :) . Awesome. Never have I gotten a haircut and color that was so well done. Josh is fantastic. Really listened to what I was looking for with a style. I was so excited to come home and implement all that he showed me, and all of my new Davine's goodies! Amazingly, my hair looked like it did when Josh did it after I did it myself! Very happy. I will be a return customer. read more

I picked Experience due to location and Yelp reviews. I definitely made the right choice! Josh listened to what I had in mind, made some suggestions and off we went. I love the color and the cut. Experience is simply fantastic! I HIGHLY recommend going! I went to Aleshia for a haircut, told her what I wanted and she did an amazing job and got it spot on. I'm usually very picky at hair salons and even if I like the cut, I don't usually like how the it is styled until I go home and do it myself, but this is the first cut I've loved from the moment I looked in the mirror. On top of the amazing haircut, the salon has a great atmosphere. It's light, airy, and relaxing. I really did feel like I was at a spa. I would give them 10 stars if I could, they nailed it. I will definitely be back! read more

Very nice shop. Experienced stylists willing to work with client's indecision. In preparation for a wedding Becca styled my hair two ways--with and without curls. It was a great hair day. Will return to her as a new client. read more

Experience is everything you could hope for in a high quality hair spa! First off, I truly appreciate that i receive an email with scheduled appointment date and time that links to my phone calendar. I also love that i get a reminder text about my upcoming appointment. It's Much more convenient than getting a phone call, and it helps remind me of my appointment because honestly sometimes i forget if i book it far in advance! When you walk in the door of this salon, you are greeted with smiles and the most wonderful fragrances fill the air! Not to mention how beautiful the inside is! The staff work together like a well oiled machine, always making sure you're comfortable from start to finish. They offer drinks, snacks, etc and always take care of moving my purse, phone, cup to the chair while I'm getting my hair shampooed. I never ever feel like Maggie is rushing during my appointment. She takes her time and makes me feel super pampered! I love the Davine's products used in the salon! They smell heavenly and FEEL luxurious! Every time I leave this hair spa, I feel beautiful!! I highly recommend Experience, a hair spa. read more

Love everything about this place! I had my first appointment there last week and they took great care of me from the moment I walked in the door. Hannah did my cut/ color and she was awesome! Such an amazing experience! I went to Josh for a cut and highlight. Not only did he do an amazing job with the cut and color, but he also gave me a detailed explanation of the color system they use. I had an idea of what I wanted when I came in, but with Josh's guidance ended up with a cut and color that were a much better style and color for me. I've never had anyone take such care when cutting my hair. I had a great experience and I highly recommended this hair spa! read more

My favorite part about the Experience Salon is how small, relaxed, and beautiful it is. The decoration, music, smell, and overall look of the salon makes you feel immediately at home. As for the people that work there, they are not only friendly and accommodating, but they have so much knowledge to share. Both Maggie and Josh are certified teachers for the Davines program and share all of this information with their clients. Every time I go in, they have learned something new that they want to try out or tell me about. I am getting married soon, and Maggie suggested their "Long hair club." I was weary about cutting my hair because I want it to be long for my wedding and she assured me we will do frequent small hair cuts and treatments to get my hair longer than it's ever been while looking HEALTHIER than it's ever been. I cannot say enough good things about this salon! read more

This was my first experience at the salon but not my first cut and color with long-time stylist and friend, Josh! From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed by the entire staff and immediately felt at home. Josh's extensive knowledge of color and Davines products (my favorites include the sea salt spray and texturizing dust) are the very reasons why I would make the commute to his new salon. I've always left all of my appointments with more confidence and a fabulous professional look - and now, have another "home" that puts the client first. Both Josh and Maggie are client-focused and what better way to spend an afternoon knowing that you hair is in great hands! It's not every day you find not only one but two people you can trust your hair with and have great prices and rewards. I'm looking forward to my next appointment!! read more

I am new to the area and chose this salon because of the good reviews it had. I am so happy I did because it is one of the nicest salons I've been to! Josh has done an amazing job coloring my hair and educating me on how/why he does things a certain way. I brought some pictures of the color I was aiming for and he helped me match it. The salon itself is very clean, modern and comfortable. They offer snacks and drinks, too, which is a nice extra touch. Overall very happy to have found a good place and hair stylist! read more

One of the coolest parts of this salon is the opportunity to see more than one stylist. I typically see Maggie but couldn't get in before leaving for a trip so today I saw Josh for a cut and color. The salon is aptly named, as it is an experience. From the moment you walk in, you feel calm and at ease. The salon is stylish, but comfortable, and you can tell they put a lot of thought into making their guests feel welcome. They give first-timers a tour and offer beverages and snacks. Josh knew what I wanted, and executed it flawlessly. The color is wonderful, and I left with silky, sleek hair. They use Davines products, which are top notch. The salon isn't cheap, but I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for. I will definitely be back, and I highly recommend this salon. read more
