We had the best dinner here today! The outdoor patio was so pleasant during the pink moments. Art, our server was attentive, kind and helpful. The food was phenomenal. I had the Pad see-ew and it was great. Nice fresh veggies of all type and great taste/texture. My husband had the spicy duck and mealed the whole plate along with a side order of brown rice. We usually order our food to go. We have eaten in a couple of times and received good service. The ambiance is nice as well.

Sat outside and the view was lovely as the patio was filled with large plants. Our server tended to us right away and we were able to order promptly. The egg rolls were delicious with the peanut sauce and the Thai mein was our favorite. We paired our dinner with some sake to end our evening and made our trip out to Ojai a pleasant experience. Visiting my daughter and she wanted to try this Thai restaurant that she hadn't been to yet. I love Thai food so I was looking forward to it. They have a lovely patio as well as an indoor eating area, we opted to eat outdoors so we could watch the pink moment as the sun was setting and it was nice and warm on an early fall evening. The indoors was air-conditioned so you can choose which you prefer. We arrived at 5:30 and we were one of the few people there, but the restaurant patio started filling up rapidly while we were eating. Art was our waiter and he was excellent. The menu has quite a few options so it took us a while to make a decision on the many appetizing offerings. I finally chose the scallops and shrimp curry with snow pea and mushrooms and bell peppers and it was unbelievably delicious. My daughter had her favorite pad see ew and thought it was excellent. My son had the spicy duck and it was delicious as well. We ordered a large bowl of brown rice to enjoy with our curries. It was a delightful evening with great service and wonderful food. The price was right and the quantity and quality was great. We will definitely be back for another wonderful meal here. Thai with a lovely outdoor seating area and friendly staff. The veggie fried rice has fish sauce in it! Don't assume any dish is vegetarian or vegan; be sure to talk to your server. The food is really hit or miss and the curry had crunchy, undercooked potatoes. It's a little hard to spot the driveway to turn in for this place but there's plenty of parking in back. read more

Ive been here a lot, absolutely adore this place, some changes have been made but it's mostly for the better. Best order in my opinion is Kiri Gai no potatoes with bamboo chutes and combination fried rice, best of all worlds. First of all, this place has plenty of parking space. I came in with a group of friends on Sunday afternoon. We were greeted by a tall young Asian hostess/server. She sat us down and gave us time to look at the menu. Obviously, none of us are Thai. So we asked for suggestion. The server patiently gave us recommendations and explained the foods. While eating, she came to ensure that we were satisfied with her recommendations. Foods was nothing short of delicious and the fragrant aroma in the air. The seafood hot pot was loaded with seafoods. The roasted chicken was extremely soft and flavourful. Before eating, one of our friends accidentally knocked his silverware off the table. Quickly our server came with a new set of utensil. Furthermore, our server brought us extra napkins, and refilled our drink as we pointed to our half emptied beverages cup. Overall, the atmosphere, decoration, location, food and especially our sever gave us an experience hard to forget. I sincerely recommend promotion to the server without reservation. read more

After not being in Ojai for at least 4 years, I drove past Exotic Thai today and remembered eating there in the past and enjoying it. So I called in an easy to-go order without looking at a menu. When I went to pick up, I was stunned to see the bill. Shrimp Pad Thai + eggrolls came to over $36!!! Much more than expected. The 5 egg rolls were good but cost $12. And the Pad Thai lacked bean sprouts, sauce and flavor and cost $22. Tossed in the ever-so-lightly coated noodles was chopped peanuts, scrambled egg, a few scallion slices and a few medium shrimp. I was so hungry and the portion seemed generous so I thought I'd have enough for two meals but I barely ate any at all. The noodles were stuck together and it was just so underwhelming. I left practically the whole pile of Pad Thai for my roommate, who will undoubtedly flavor boost it with hot sauce. I don't know why the prices are so high but I will choose another restaurant next time. read more

This used to be my "go to" place for Thai food in Ojai, but my last few visits have been disappointing. Most recently we seated ourselves on the patio, waited a while, and finally had to go inside to ask for menus. Our orders were taken and the food was delivered. No one ever came back to check on us. Had to go in again to ask for salad dressing. Waited for the wait person to bring the check, and had to go inside for the 3rd time to ask for the bill. The prices have increased over the last couple of years by about 30%, which is understandable in the current economy, but the portions have decreased by about 50%. How much do bean thread noodles cost? Not that much! And more importantly, the bathrooms were ""out of order", couldn't even wash our hands! Will try the Thai restaurant on the highway next time. read more

Was in the area and we were looking for a lunch place with outdoor seating and reasonable pricing. Look no further (thanks Yelp!) we stumbled across Exotic Thai. Plenty of parking on the side and a large patio with socially distance seating. We were surprised to see they offered a lunch menu for $10 which includes two entree choices plus white rice. For the area the price was extremely reasonable. I ordered the pad thai and mixed veggies. The portion was on the smaller end. If you are looking for more food, skip the lunch special and go for a regular size menu item. The overall flavor of the food was okay but nothing extraordinary. Service was fast and efficent. 5 PM early dinner no crowds, no rush,no wait. Had two entrées, cashew chicken and pepper steak. Both very good! Service was polite, professional and prompt. Entrées were a little pricey at $15 a unit, à la cart, paid extra for white rice. Hot tea, if ordered, was extra. I guess, that's the way it goes now in California à la cart, money money money money. We had lemongrass chicken soup and it was a little bit on the sweet side ... a bit peculiar..not bad though there was a good amount of chicken standard quality and mushrooms so that was a positive, but the main problem was when we ordered the spinach broccoli sauté with tofu and peanut sauce it came swimming in peanut sauce like a soup almost which was a watery peanut butter sauce with bits of peanut, it was supposed to be spicy but it was not spicy, so I asked them kindly to please remove all the excess sauce and bring some spicy sauce so when they brought it back it was ice cold! I have been overseas half of my life this is very authentic Thai food. The owner and the staff are amazing the only thing I have to say negative about it if you're getting takeout you really need to double check your order there's nothing worse than having to drive back just to get your soup. Since everything closes so early here-there aren't many great places to go and most places in this area have so so ratings. We ended up here one night at this point after looking for just dinner anywhere after a nice outing. They have a nice large patio with a lot of social distancing. Service: Service is fabulous the people who run the establishment couldn't be nicer. The food came out a hair slow. Food: I want to say everything was beautiful but I really can't. -The fresh Spring rolls with tofu were my favourite! The peanut sauce is so good and nothing like I have tasted before. -The entree that I had was ok...It was a noodle dish and there was more filler (looked like iceberg lettuce it reminded me of something cheap you put on the plate-like garnish) than noodle or peppers or tofu...So the serving is actually really quite small. but the taste of the sauce was delicious. Also, be careful when you ask them to take something out-they do not listen. I asked them to take an ingredient out and it came to me with an abundance of the ingredient I wanted to be omitted. For people with allergies really inspect your food before consuming it. We also ordered the vegetable fried rice to share...the only vegetable in it was Nappa cabbage and broccoli...I just assumed that there would be an assortment but it was rice, eggs, broccoli and Nappa...that is it. I would come here in a pinch (the food is decent) but wouldn't openly recommend it to people. I have had fabulous Thai food before and this misses the mark. read more
