Reza was incredibly patient and helpful. He helped us find the perfect rug for our space.

I've been back to Exotic Rugs many times since my first visit a year ago, and each time I've managed to find something beautiful and one of a kind to take home. We now have five rugs from this store, each one bringing something a little different. The prices are as good as any I've seen, the selection is amazing, and the owner Reza is an absolute pleasure to talk to. I've been to well over a dozen rug stores in the Chicago-Evanston area and in my view Reza's remains the best, hands down. read more

Update: 11/11/19- I went back to Reza to buy some rug pads and mentioned that, even though I adore the heriz I bought last year, I thought it was too small (8x10) for the living room. So he started showing me larger rugs and I fell in love with a 10x12 (another heriz? Not sure!) which he delivered along with my rug pads. He brought his young strong guys with him to help move last year's rug into the dining room and they laid out the new one ... even my husband was like, "Wow. This is gorgeous. Now we need better furniture." I love working with Reza. He's already got my tastes totally pegged. Reza is a great salesman! I purchased a beautiful 8x10 heriz for my living room, and when he delivered it, he brought in a runner from his truck for my hallway ... which I promptly purchased. Perhaps I'm a sucker, but the rugs are spectacular, and I have no regrets. They'll be gorgeous forever. His prices are reasonable. His store is tiny and completely crowded with rugs, so be prepared to spend a little time. He also told me how to properly care for the rugs and to call him for cleaning. Which I certainly wil read more

It can be overwhelming to walk into a rug gallery and try to find the right/best piece for yourself. Reza is one of the kindest, most patient and helpful merchants in the business. I bought rugs from him over 10 years ago and he could not have been more capable, informative and professional. I needed Kilim Pillows recently and he was the first person I thought to go see. Not only did he remember me and my rugs, from over a decade ago, he was incredibly determined to find the best pieces at my price point and to make certain they were cleaned, repaired and perfect. Exotic Rugs have on tremendous collection of unique and beautiful rugs with fascinating histories and Reza has something for everyone, He will help you make a fantastic choice and valuable purchase. read more

I had a wonderful experience at La Maison/Exotic Rugs. Reza, the proprietor is a veritable walking encyclopedia of Classic Oriental rugs and carpets. He is friendly, witty, and a wonderful resource. As for the shop, he may have one of the most extensive collections I've seen in the Chicago area- something for every taste, preference and price point. I have real interest in these objects, and he answered all my questions patiently and with real insight form someone who truly loves the items he is offering. I bought Indian Mahal that I really like, and he was great to deal with from start to finish. Sure to be back in the future, as I know that I'm being dealt with honestly. read more

Really creepy! In about 4 years reviewing on Yelp, this is the first time a business has had one of my reviews removed by the website. They repeatedly remove any negative reviews. I did not hear any response from the business about the concerns raised, just trying to hide the poor feedback. Maybe this is why they only have 5 star reviews? I had a remarkably poor customer experience at this establishment and the proprietor used intimidation tactics in person when selling goods not as described, I guess I shouldn't be surprised that they use the same strategy online. Let's see how long this review stays up. read more

I am so bad at taking time to write reviews but absolutely felt I could not miss on this one. I wish I could give 10 stars!!! I purchased both an area rug and runner. They are absolutely beautiful & very well made. The owner couldn't have been more honest & polite. We are so beyond thrilled at the quality of these pieces as well as the personal commitment Reza made to us. We purchased online which always can be a little scary. But he explained everything so thoroughly, walked me through the transaction & literally less than a day later I had these beauties in my home!!!! If you are looking for a top quality rug for your home, business, etc, THIS is the place to go!!! Thank you so much for everything!!! Dawn Siegel Crown Point IN read more

Reza is wonderful to work with when you're shopping to buy a rug. He went above and beyond to help me decide on the right rug. He emailed several options and was always happy to continue to correspond with other options over many months. He brought several over to my house to view and make a decision after we had picked some at the shop. He has a selection of a variety of rugs for all kinds of tastes. A very kind man and very hardworking. You will learn more about rug weaving by talking with Reza! read more

Returning to write another review of Exotic Rugs following the purchase of two more rugs, a number of rug pads and a rug repair. Needless to say, we are happy customers. The rugs Farsheed helped us select are perfect for the spaces they occupy, and they even get two thumbs up from our three little ones. Farsheed is a pleasure to do business with. I am so glad we stumbled upon his store last year. read more
