Wow! This may be the best cocktail bar in the city. It is a full vibe that must be experienced…read more Craft cocktails in a charming, warm, inviting space similar to a Victorian era home back in the 1900s. Service is impeccable. They do a tremendous job of explaining the menu and food options in detail, and ensure you have a great experience from start to finish. The drinks? Nothing short of amazing. They vary the featured cocktails menu every 8 weeks, so most likely you'll get a different experience every time you go. However you can always get your classic cocktails like Margaritas, French 75 and Martinis. They also can do any drink NA which is the first of its kind in the US. They have an option called dealers choice, where you can pick the spirit and flavor profile of the drink you want: spicy, sour, floral, smoky etc. no limits! You write down on a card what you want and they craft you a cocktail based on your selections. They also offer a variety of food pairings to go along with the select, featured drink you order. We got spring rolls, a braised, pork infused doughnut, and an incredible bone broth that still has me in a tizzy. Fair warning: it's small and difficult to get a reservation - don't try your luck walking in, this place is a hot ticket and you won't be able to get in without a resy, which could be weeks or months out. This is a true gem of a cocktail bar, and is as good as anything you would find in New York or Chicago.

We stopped here after dinner, so we stuck mostly with the cocktails. Unfortunately, nothing on the seasonal menu really stuck out to me. I stuck with the "traditional" cocktails (spicy watermelon bubblegum, and then banana daiquiri). Hubs went for the halo halo food (which was so cute! All the typical ingredients but served in cubist fashion), and the paired drink. The paired drink was supposed to have different layers of flavor, but they all mixed together quite a bit. Tasty, just not the "layered" experience we thought. I think they almost do themselves a disservice comparing themselves to the aviary - that is a crazy high bar to meet. Granted, maybe we would have been more impressed if we had more of the seasonal cocktails despite them not seeming interesting? Probably wouldnt go out of my way to go here again, but it is a cool vibe and the cocktails were good.

For our main course, we had the lobster ravioli, mushroom ravioli with salmon, roasted chicken, and the wild striped bass. Dessert was ice cream, an olive oil cake, which the server said was underrated but very delicious, and she was so very right. When we were there it wasn't too busy, so you were able to have a conversation at your table without shouting to be heard. I'm not sure how it would be when they start to get very busy. The "server assistant " ended up taking our appetizer order. We noticed 3 young individuals arriving and the "red carpet" was rolled out! They had their own personal servers (yes, multiple people) along with the chef, and managers falling all over themselves to serve them. Our appetizers arrived. The fried calamari was overcooked and chewy. The crab cakes were inedible. We moved on to the main course. My daughter ordered fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. I ordered a margarita pizza. The fettuccine was inedible but the chicken was good. The pizza arrived burned on one side. It seemed that they were more concerned with the "influencers " as they received almost everything on the menu in perfect condition and in a timely manner! At times, there would be 3+ people helping with food delivery. We ended up ordering dessert. It was very good. Our w hour experience with slow service and poor quality of food would make it hard for us to consider returning. The restaurant did refund the crab cakes and we believe management knew they blew it. But it is awful how they treat their serving staff! Beware!

Date of visit: May 7, 2025…read more After a very long hiatus, we reassembled the trivia team and did battle at The Elevens Lounge, part of The Annex at Foxtown and were pleasantly surprised overall by the experience. Parking is plentiful in the lot directly outside as well as the lower lot. The space is quite large and in a ] shape, with a mix of low tables and high tops. The low tables are not ideal for eating, I'd recommend grabbing a couple of high tops if you're planning to dine in. Speaking of dining, the food is quite good, if a bit on the expensive side. I went with the French Onion Burger (sans onions, naturally) and even though it didn't say it on the menu, it came with a side of fries that were quite good--crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the fries that Five Guys aspires to offer but never quite achieves. The fries were so plentiful I filled up on those and some of my husband's pizza and saved the burger for dinner the next day, which reheated very well and was on a fantastic bun. Service during trivia is always a crapshoot but Quadrea, better known as Q, did his best to keep things moving, though he didn't write anything down and kept forgetting things, which in the end probably slowed things down more than anything. All that being said, we liked the venue and will definitely be back for trivia again.

One thing that's great about this spot is that they offer all of their drinks as 0 ABV so it makes it super easy and enjoyable for those who are not drinking to still feel catered to and can enjoy a fancy beverage - however I will note that they are as pricey as the cocktails since they use a fancy alcohol in the drinks that is zero proof! Service is super easy ordering at the counter indoors and you can peruse and look at all of the cute curated items, books & records while you wait. The outdoor seating is ample and lovely with their giant striped umbrellas and blue Adirondack chairs as well as other seating options - and fire pits for when the weather turns chilly! Overall love this spot and will continue to pop in when we have the chance.

Set inside a historic bed and breakfast, The Five20 Social Stop is like something you'd see in a Hallmark movie set in a sweet little town. So welcoming and inviting, we were immediately comfortable. The room is small with vintage rock/stone walls. The antique bar fits the room perfectly. Warm lighting with whimsical decor, the whole vibe is reminiscent of an antique lodge. There were just a few people enjoying the live music - a duo singing classic tunes. They sounded fantastic! Given we are in the middle of a pandemic I was surprised they offered live music and relieved everyone was spaced out. It was my friend's birthday so they sang Happy Birthday along with everyone in the entire pub! I later found out that the singer was one of the owners. The woman at the table across the way was his wife and was the other owner. This husband and wife duo could not have been more gracious and hospitable. I noticed that there was an air purifier right next to our table which made me feel a little better. I wasn't sure I wanted to socialize quite as much as we were doing, but it was my friend's birthday so we kept our masks on and enjoyed a few songs before we headed out. Once the crazy virus gets under control, I would love to come back and stay at this dear little bed and breakfast situated in the heart of downtown on their main street. It would be perfect for a romantic get away, a girlfriend's weekend or a family vacation. I plan on enjoying their authentic little pub every night that I'm there. During warm weather they have a great outdoor patio in the back and offer live music out there. I am very much looking forward to returning because of the quaint atmosphere, delicious cocktails, talented entertainment and kind owners!

Unfortunately, the TVs displaying live online poker really detracted from the ambiance. We really enjoy tiki bars for the drinks and the escapism, and it was just way too hard, actually impossible, to forget we were sitting in a Midwestern bar in the middle of winter. So, very interesting building and space. There appears to be a fun patio area for the summer months and there's a big screen tv that I'm guessing shows sporting events. My review for atmosphere would be 4-5 stars. Unfortunately too much time doing nothing but waiting and looking around killed the visit. I was there on a Saturday at the noon hour. It was not exceptionally busy, especially for the space they have. We were just there to get a coffee and go. Should be in/out in a few minutes right? Wrong, there was one girl managing the counter and two guys visible in the back area. We waited a full 10 minutes at the counter while the girl took one order ahead of ours. I was getting the this is going to take forever vibe and would have left, but we weren't in a hurry and my wife wanted to try the coffee. So once our order was placed and paid for we proceeded to wait another 20 minutes for two drinks and a scone. In that time the counter girl certainly kept moving, although not with any deliberate speed. The two guys in the kitchen did not come out to help her at all and when delivering only two plates to tables did so at a snail's pace. The place really wasn't busy, but the staff they had struggled mightily to keep pace. This is similar to what my friend reports experiencing time and again. To give credit the counter person did apologize for the wait time to place our order and apologized again for the wait to receive our order. So the drinks (coffee and a chai) were average and the blueberry scone was on the dry side of mid. All in all, really nice atmosphere and decorations. Maybe a place to bring your own drink in, because you may not get one from them for awhile. Definitely not a good place to stop if you are in a rush to get somewhere else.
