While we were out in Fort Collins, we figured to grab new things for the hellhounds at The Mausoleum. This place had some good rolled cheeks for a reasonable price, and it is their favorite. We also found a few decently durable toys with ropes in them so the barking dorks at home think their new toys aren't detroyed seconds after they get them. Some prices are a bit high, though, even for this goblin. All in all; Decent place to hit up.

I currently have 3 (well-adjusted, happy) adopted buddies and over the years have adopted all my previous pets (both cats and dogs) . I highly recommend adopting from AFA. The animals are all well treated, the staff is friendly and personable. They really care for and take care of their rescues. They take the time to attend to the particular needs of each and help to carefully match the animal with the right home. When you consider the trauma so many have experience in their prior life, this attention to detail and affection goes a long way to helping the rescues adjust to a new home. They also go over questions, answers and needs of the new pet with the adopting families and offer resources to help with training and veterinary care. I called to check on a special type of cat litter that my grand daughter and her cat George, had run out of. The poor cat! He's not used to skimping ....so the woman that answered had to physically check the area where they had cat supplies. She offered to check immediately, and did find two types that weren't exactly what George used but my grand daughter decided to try one. We thanked the team member, hung up, and decided to go up to the store and get the substitute product . The property is bright and clean with a good variety of items for many pets. We located the litter (pine chips??? Instead of soy beans I guess!). Paid for them and went on our way. If you are here to visit or traveling through- do stop in. Went to purchase Just Food For Dogs frozen food our dog, as we are traveling and this is the only location that we can purchase the food. When I notified an older white make employee named Mark, he was indifferent about the expired food, calling me a liar before arguing it's simply a best by date. The food expired 5 months ago. When I followed up with a manager, a young white female who stated her name was Jordan, she gave me a nasty attitude, dismissing my concerns about the food and how Mark handled the situation, stating she wasn't there so she didn't really know what happened but that I should have a good day. She was snarky, short and quite rude. Neither Mark or Jordan thanked me for informing them they had at least a dozen expired frozen packets of JFFD on their shelf, just nasty attitudes and dismissiveness over the seriousness. It should be noted, a local friend picked up two packets of JFFD for us the day prior and told us she had noted the expired food. The staff is not checking product and not removing expired product.

We've been here several times mainly for treats. I have a German shepherd who is hard to walk…read more I've tried multiple collars and harnesses to no avail. I either have to walk her at night with limited distractions or we don't walk. If we don't walk she gets very antsy and paces constantly. I was speaking about this to one associate and another overheard me who apparently had the same breed and issue. She showed me the harness she uses and told me to bring it back if it didn't fit or didn't help with my issue. First walk...amazing. It doesn't choke my dog by pulling against her neck but absolutely helps with the insistent pulling and yanking. We were able to go for a 1.5 miles today with one of my other dogs with no issue. She couldn't wiggle out of it and it was super helpful with guiding her on where I needed/wanted her to go instead of the pulling. Her overall demeanor after the walk was night and day too. I think it was just an easier walk overall for both of us which was so much more enjoyable.
