It's like running a little city, so yeah, they do a good job. They even have their own sewer plant here as well as wells for drinking water. The property is over 14,000 acres or about the size of the city of S.F., though most of it is backcountry. It gets really hot here in the summers, so good thing all of those cabins have AC as well as all the rest of the buildings, except for the horse barn .... poor horsies! Horse riding is a big thing here, if you're into that. You can rent horses for trail rides if you like. The moto ATV people are kept separate so that's good. They have their own area to tear up the hillside. Me, I just like to come up and relax for a few days. We stay in the motel/lodge. It's has full king sized beds and nice bathroom with shower for just $20 bucks a night! It's kind of a do it yourself place when it comes to food. Bring you own food as the snack bar by the pool has limited hours and doesn't serve breakfast. There's cooking facilities if you need or figure it's sort of like camping, except you don't sleep outside. If you got an RV with hookups, you got it made, just pull into a full hookup spot and you got 30amp electricity and water and sewer. If you buy in to the place, that RV spot is FREE as are the cabins, just the motel you have to pay for. You do have to buy in to use the place unless you know someone and can come as a guest. Fees are very reasonable. In the off season, like Feb, the place is deserted and you can have the place all to yourself. I'm glad I know one of the owners, so I get to come up here.

There is so much I could say about this campground, good and bad, but the most important part of…read morethis site are the hosts. I've traveled through here on multiple occasions and it has improved exponentially over the years, in large part due to the staff. Recently, on a trip south I had to stop in to get some shut eye and had all my pets with me. Two cats and a dog. The heat was pretty intense so I arrived late and cracked the window for my cats while I slept. One cat, escaped the vehicle in the night and was missing for a month and a half. The hosts were incredible... I was able to post fliers, they kept in contact with me and my pet tracker, and eventually she reappeared and we were reunited. The hosts went above and beyond to help me during this time, and I am so grateful they were receptive to this situation. As for the campground, the only negative things I do have to say would be other campers. It can be loud at times, but that is no fault of the hosts and the site itself. The staff keeps it clean, and the grounds are beautiful. The wildlife here is amazing, the trails are well maintained, and anyone from boat enthusiasts to bird watchers would enjoy the scenery. I will definitely be camping here again. (Most likely next time I wont bring my cats. If I can help it)

Upon arrival, the camp host comes over and greets you personally with a smile and meets you with that same smile every time you cross paths. You are given the code to the restroom both when registering and from the camp host. Watching the camp hosts they both go far beyond their volunteer job position as camp hosts. They were doing landscaping work throughout the day. Seems like bathroom hand-soap is no longer part of the park fee, but they have a container of soap on the counter. As for the bugs, that's just nature at its finest! Feel like a where everyone knows your name kind of place because their friendliness seems to inspire some of the other campers to do the same. Being a solo camper, it was nice to not feel invisible! I would give them a vote to be named best volunteers of the state. They both obviously take pride in their volunteer work! Thank you!!!
