Fun little course, in pretty good shape. Great place to practice your irons and short game. They do have carts

Great little course to work on your short game. The food and staff are on point. Fairly priced and good deals during the week.

The absolute worst experience at Valley Oak Golf Course in Visalia. I don't usually write reviews,…read morebut this place has earned it. The course management is terrible, and the so-called "driving range" is even worse. They regularly have people lined up waiting for bays, yet somehow there is still no basic sign-up system. You literally walk right past the bar and counter to get in -- it would be so easy to manage -- but instead it's chaos. We've personally witnessed arguments and even physical fights because people wait forever, only to have someone jump the line. High schoolers camp out in bays all evening by rotating friends in and out, and staff does nothing about it. Zero structure. Zero accountability. The hitting mats in the bays are also poorly maintained and honestly gross. For a place that charges what it does and new, basic upkeep should not be this hard. Out on the course, expect long delays. It's very common to sit behind 2-4 groups before you can even tee off. A normal 4-hour round easily turns into double that. It kills the entire experience. Safety is another concern. There is no clear safety line at the range, and we have seen people get hit with clubs. That should never happen at a properly managed facility. Overall, this is mismanagement at its finest. The place feels neglected, disorganized, and unconcerned about customer experience or safety.

I welcome more forms of entertainment in Visalia although Mulligans could improve in some aspects…read more We made a reservation online and paid $80 per hour for a wide screen bay. Notably the hourly fee was cheaper earlier in the day. We were given the password for the linked computer and a few tees. We had our own clubs so we didn't have to rent anything. There were multiple games available on the computer including capture the flag and golf pong. Unfortunately we kept getting kicked off from the account and it interfered with our game. The tees were also flimsy and 3/4 of our tees were bent and unable to stand up straight. The calibration also needed some work as there were times the ball moved without anyone swinging. The drinks were the best part of the experience. Everything was strong, alcohol and flavor wise. We weren't checked up on frequently so make sure to place everything at once. *Wings: we chose the mango habanero sauce and it packed some good heat. The meat was moist while the skin was on the softer side. Overall the tenderness and sweet sauce made it a good shareable. *Pretzel Sticks: the texture was good but there could have been a bit more salt and cheese to dip in. Our sticks also looked skinnier than the ones pictured. *Churros: came with vanilla ice cream. The churros were stiff and greasy. They tasted frozen and reheated. The ice cream was also on the harder side, almost freezer burnt. Bad ending to our meal. The drinks were probably my favorite downtown but the other aspects were greatly overpriced. The golfing was subpar, notably worse than the typical Top Golf experience. Especially with the upcharge for equipment, this was too expensive for a fun night out with friends.

This is a 9-hole course and you really only need a few irons and a putter to play here. Which makes it great for practicing your short game and getting a game with friends. This course does get busy, so I would recommend booking your tee time a few days early. There's no clubhouse here, just a small office that has canned beers, snacks, tees, and other golfer needs. This course is small enough to walk so they offer both push golf carts and traditional motorized golf carts. They even have electric golf scooters which look very fun to drive. This course is fun play, but the grounds here have seen better days. If you hit your ball anywhere, but the fairway or the green you're hitting mud or compacted dirt. If this course was closer, I'd most likely play it more often.

Maybe I have been spoiled by very well-maintained golf amenities in the valley (when one compares value vs. price paid). The range balls that are used are very outdated and very worn out. 15 bucks for such an underwhelming and aesthetically lacking 9-hole course that this venue offers, would be more acceptable. On the bright side, the venue does not have mats for the range--still on natural surface. And the staff is super friendly. There is a satisfactory area for chipping practice.
