While my kids are sand ADDICTS, they don't mind not having sand at this park because it's so fun. The playground is significantly shaded by overhead shades as well as trees. It's very well maintained. There's a drinking fountain, but no bathrooms. Very well lit at night. It has tables and benches with overhead awning that can be reserved for parties. There's half a basketball court. There's really something for everyone. Bring your dogs, bring the family, and have fun!

Thankfully,…read morethere's one exception in Del Lago Park, an expansive multi-purpose outdoor respite in the middle of one of the better housing developments in the area. We were in town and looking for a place to get some exercise in the form of a long walk. Long walking paths are also hard to come by down here, but a friend suggested we try out Del Lago. After seeing so many parks that were basically nothing more than dead and forgotten drainage basins peppered throughout the city, our hopes weren't high. That opinion quickly changed. The first thing that strikes most is the big, beautiful duck pond with plenty of sometimes aggressive ducks as its residents. There's also plenty of gazebo-like shade structures and seating, lots of benches, a splash pad and playground for the littles and even a tennis court. Just as refreshing was the lack of riff raff in the parking lot and the plethora of families roaming about. The undesirables of Tulare, at least for now, have overlooked this refuge. Del Lago Park provides a vital resource that this town so desperately needed. It's across from a school in a safe neighborhood. If you need a park and you live in the area, this it the place to go.

I frequently visit Riverway Sports park to use their splash pad in the summer. They told me this spot was open which I wasn't even aware existed. It is right next to CSET & in front of the Visalia Substation. Well my kids had a great time cooling off. This splash pad is smaller than the one at Riverway but their fountains spray water higher. The only negative that may be uncomfortable for others is that their is a large transient community in the area but they are friendly just trying to stay cool in this valley heat like the rest of us. With that being the area was surprising clean. Can't wait to take them back.

My family came here to visit not knowing what to expect. It was a great experience learning how Forestiere built these tunnels so intentionally and with innovation. The guided tour is about 60 minutes and includes a lot of walking with some stairs, so be prepared with comfy shoes. However, there's also benches in the tunnels if you need a quick seat. The tour ends in the grand ballroom which connects to the gift shop. There you can find citrus sorbet made from the fruits of this garden. I had to give that a taste and it was sweet and zesty. I went home with some postcards to send to friends too. This place is also California State National Landmark No. 916! You must add it to your bucket list of adventures.

In all the games I've attended, this is probably the best-kept field and spectator area I've seen. The staff does an outstanding job maintaining the complex and creating a great experience for players and families. The shaded seating areas were especially appreciated, providing relief from the heat and making it much more comfortable to watch the game. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and look forward to coming back for future games.
