    Such a beautiful tree!

Great discovery this afternoon. Never knew this place existed until recently moving back to Visalia and searching for things to do. I would definitely put this on your list of places to visit. Simple trails with cool scenery and really quiet. Dog friendly which is a plus, a decent picnic area with plenty of shade and the bathrooms were clean. I will be coming back!

Great place to enjoy the peace and tranquility of nature. There are at least 3 trails to enjoy I believe and it's the go to place for lovely professional or amateur pictures. Be wary of the parking lot, and make sure that you lock up your car tight and do not leave valuables inside. They have had a problem with car break- ins in the past. Lovely place for a romantic picinc or some exercise.

Bulletin board up front lets you know about upcoming events & yes it's cool to bring the dogs

For someone not from the south valley, 5 stars may seem like a bit much, but...considering our surroundings, i think this place is pretty special. Off the 198, it's super duper easy to find. From Hanford, it takes about 30 min (visalia is about 20, 25 min, so i would say it's not far out of visalia at all - minutes) on the 198, turn left, go down the street, voila. there is no fee to go in & there are map guides available in print & posted as a large sign outside the gate. there are 3 trails you make take, and each i believe, is under a mile. we only did two - the grapevine & the sycamore trails before it got too warm & it was lunch time anyway. the trails we were on were easy & surprisingly scenic. i didn't really think it was too hard to get lost, but do pay attention - there is a spot or two which forks into two trails. The oak trees are beautiful but do watch your step - i actually tripped and fell on a branch (but im clumsy). There's a meeting area outside the trails with a few picnic tables, but there are SEVERAL places to sit on the trails as well! Benches can be found in random areas so you may sit and enjoy the beauty. I loved this & thought it was kind of unique. A very family friendly spot (picnic lunches anyone?) we also saw a family getting their portraits taken here (great idea!). The entire grounds are pretty well maintained too - we only saw one piece of trash left by some thoughtless hiker. when we came by today, it was mid Sat morning, and there were about 28-34 cars out: we came across a class doing a hike as well as a few families. i should also mention that there is a dinky looking surveillance camera in the parking lot, but it doesnt even look like it works (i really hope it does though). i wouldnt normally think twice about that, but the first time i came it was a monday morning, around 9 am or so and i noticed there was glass shattered all over the parking lot. did someone's car get broken into? it was unsettling since we were the only ones out. so do be safe & wise about your valuables.

My kids and I went there for the first time today, and it was GREAT!!! There are several trails nothing difficult all are nicely maintained. We only did one trail this time it got a little to warm. Next time I will prepare better and stay longer they also have picnic tables so you can bring a picnic. The only thing i did not like is they had porta potty's but when you gotta go you gotta go. I will be back.

Amazing place, it's as if you have stepping back in time about a hundred years. The wild life is thriving, the trails are relaxing.

A special thank you to our guide, Gera, who was absolutely fantastic. He kept things fun and entertaining while making sure everyone felt safe and comfortable on the river. We had a party of four first timers, My mom, myself, and my two boys (14 & 10) and we did the afternoon adventure. EVERYONE had an absolute blast. It was the highlight of our trip and one of the most fun things we have done in years. This really is an adventure. You will be bouncing all over the raft and working in sync as a team to line yourself up for the best past through wild waters. The guides are amazing at keeping everyone locked in and also sharing the beauty of the river. I cannot recommend this excursion enough! Some details on the family option: You drive in to their supervised lot, park your vehicle, and after 30 min of putting on gear and going through instructions you jump in the rafts and go down river for about 4 miles to the lake where you are picked up by a bus and brought back to the lot. The whole trip took about 2.5 hours but I would expect some variance. There were two spots in the run where you can jump in the water and swim around for a bit. One parting thought is that if you are in the area and you see the river you may think you have an idea of what it looks like, but I was truly taken aback by the beauty of the scenery from the perspective of the winding path of the river. You really do get to see a view that is just as unique and special as any park trail.
