Brick By Brick Pavers and Landscaping Review by Sam Davidson…read more In May of 2020, I had Jerry and his crew at Brick by Brick do a project for me. The project was surrounding my pool with paver bricks. I have a large pool and a significant entertaining area around it that my family uses extensively. The work and the project were critical to our living and entertaining lifestyle. Jerry and his team were a delight. They delivered exactly what they said they would, plus more. The work was excellent, timely, and right on budget. I highly recommend Brick by Brick Pavers and Landscaping. Sam Davidson Samma565656@gmail.com

I'm sure this company does quality work, but I must comment negatively on the professionalism. Had…read morethem come out about a week and a half ago to evaluate my floors to be redone. Made some constructive comments and educated me on realistic expectations (which is fine). However, I was told to expect an estimate and it's been over a week with no additional contact. I'm a young person and I'm starting to believe he just didn't believe the work was worth his time or that I wouldn't be willing to pay what he estimated. Either way, I'll be taking my business elsewhere and he can continue to work on his "8 million dollar homes" which I agree must be much more worth his time.

Extremely poor workmanship and unprofessional service…read more I hired Sir Grout to fix 5-6 moving tiles and re-grout the floor. Before taking the contract, they sent their team to inspect the floor, assess the condition, and determine what work needed to be done. Based on that inspection, they recommended the work and provided a quote. I therefore expected the job to be done professionally and properly. Unfortunately, the experience was completely different. Their sales team is rude and dont lift calls after you give them contract. The work appeared rushed and taken shorcuts, and they did not seem willing to listen to feedback or address concerns during the process. Very next day, the new grout started cracking and coming out, and the tiles they supposedly repaired are already moving more then what they were. The floor now looks worse than it did before they started. The worst part was their response after I reported the problems. Management was not willing to come back and physically inspect the work or see the issues firsthand. Instead, they blamed the pre-existing condition of the subfloor and there all imagaination. If the subfloor was truly a concern, that should have been properly identified and communicated before accepting the job--especially since their team had specifically inspected the floor before providing the quote. Rather than taking the time to understand the problem and stand behind their work, they essentially dismissed my concerns without properly investigating the failure. My biggest concerns were the rushed workmanship, lack of responsiveness to customer feedback, and, most importantly, their refusal to come back and inspect the failed work. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Sir Grout. Always the high price does not translate into quality workmanship or professional customer service.

I love the landscaping design in my front and back yards thanks to Ken Lerner of Total Concepts…read more Ken has a great eye for design, a great ear to hear what you hope to achieve (very important), a great knowledge of plants and a great crew to help it all materialize perfectly. I tried on two previous occasions with two other landscapers and was disappointed both times. Ken understood what I was hoping to create with my outdoor spaces and made it happen. He used plants and rocks that were different and beautiful. One of the trees that he found for me, he hoped he could find another for himself! It is probably my favorite. Ken oversaw the project with a critical eye. He was not afraid to make changes to his original plan, in order to please me, or his own sense of style as the project progressed. In addition, he did my fencing and lighting. I didn't have to deal with coordinating between companies. Ken took care of it all. He was so easy to work with. My journey with NJ Pavers & Pools began in 2022 when I decided to replace a dilapidated wooden deck…read morewith a raised paver patio. I wanted the patio surface to align with my door's threshold for better accessibility and aesthetics. After receiving multiple estimates, I was unimpressed--every contractor pushed for a ground-level patio with steps leading down from the door, citing lower costs and less effort. While I understood their reasoning, it wasn't my vision, and their reluctance to execute on what I was describing left me feeling they weren't up to the task. Then, I met Alex from NJ Pavers & Pools. He not only embraced my idea but immediately provided a concept drawing and a competitive estimate. His confidence in bringing my vision to life was what truly won me over and I hired him right there on the spot The crew was remarkable--professional, skilled, happy, and efficient, Project manager Miguel's attention to detail ( really all the guys are meticulous) ensured the job was done flawlessly. By day two, I was so impressed that I expanded the project to include replacing the old garden pavers and adding a firepit. They completed the entire process in just three days, and four summers later, the patio remains flawless and the adjacent garden inviting. Flash forward to 2025 when it came time to tackle phase two --replacing the cracked, unsightly, sinking and crumbling concrete around my pool. I spent months researching different surfacing options, but my heart kept coming back to my previous experience with Alex and his team. The trust factor, along with the desire for a cohesive aesthetic, made the decision to go with pavers and them an easy one. They delivered in spades! They spent two weeks transforming not just the pool area, but also adding a new front porch, a side-door step, and a front walkway. The end result is a stunning, unified oasis that has completely elevated the look of my home. Neighbors, dog-walkers, and guests have all stopped to comment on the beautiful, cohesive, and upscale look. We love the result. NJ Pavers & Pools consistently exceeds expectations. I am a lifelong customer. I couldn't be happier. They didn't just complete a job; they turned my vision into a beautiful, lasting reality, earning my complete trust, loyalty and unwavering loyalty. I 1000% recommend them to anyone and the quality of their work to beyond evident.

Be careful when dealing with Picture Perfect! We chose this company to do two handyman projects -…read moreremove a small section of chain link fence and repair a shed. When Joel, the Picture Perfect rep, was here we had shown him the shed, which needed extensive exterior work including new shingles, door repair, and paint. He didn't write anything down while he was discussing this project but we thought he knew what we wanted. The description on the proposal we received read "Repair shed, remove rotted wood and dump. Replace with same material, outdoor bead board and paint. Install gravel, fabric, slate stepping stones in the front of the door". As you can see in the picture what they actually did was work on the front of the shed and put the slate stepping stones. The roof is the worst part of our shed and what we wanted repaired most of all. We also wanted the whole shed painted. Picture Perfect did not paint the sides or back walls of the shed and not touch the shingles at all despite us having discussed it. We now need to hire someone else to finish the repair. Initially we considered using Picture Perfect to put new landscaping in the front of the house. The landscaping proposal was VERY general (e.g. 20 perennials, 4 fill plants) with no way to visualize the final product. We requested a sketch and Picture Perfect agreed....but they never provided anything. We made the decision not to use Picture Perfect for the landscaping. I've learned a few hard (and expensive) lessons dealing with these folks. Make sure the quote you are getting is super detailed, don't assume, like us, that what you discussed is being done if it is not there exactly. Tie them down to a date unless you don't care when the work gets done. Be ready to be on them constantly for updates as they are never going to communicate to you on their own.
