My friend and I came up to Vancouver for a weekend and were able to use my Living Social deal. The staff was very friendly and helpful in figuring out where things were and dining options. Our room was big, airy, and super comfy! And while this may be a small thing, it was one of the few hotels I've stayed in that offered robes. Silly? Perhaps. But nice, nonetheless. I would definitely go back again, but this time I'm claiming the bed rather than the sofa bed. :o) read more

I probably would have liked this hotel better if I hadn't just stayed at the Fairmont. It's sort of like going from a Bentley to a Toyota... still nice, but incomparable none the less. The staff were definitely more warm and friendly, but it was just alright in terms of comfort, space, and amenities. They ran about an hour and a half past check-in time, which was frustrating since we happen to have gotten there right when "check in" was supposed to start. The room itself was small but clean... and the bed was comfortable, which is saying something considering I'm kinda picky about that. However, it was really stuffy and the air conditioner sounded like an industrial air blower (very loud). I ended up having to sleep with the TV on to drown out the sound. There aren't a ton of restaurants surrounding the hotel, but if you're okay with walking about four or five blocks, you'll hit a ton of places. Overall, this place is decent in terms of value and location. Plus, their valet parking is much cheaper than most hotels in the area ($29). Quick suggestion: skip the restaurant attached to the hotel. It looks really nice, but the food is mediocre for the price. read more

Happy with the location, our room and service. Will visit on my next trip. The only complaint is the gall in the restaurant serving breakfast who had an attitude problem. Even though we had breakfast included on our stay we decided to go out skip her attitude. Other than her everyone else was extremely friendly and helpful. read more

Understaffed circus tent. That's how I'd describe Hotel Le Soleil. When they say "classic French" design, they mean gold stripes around every single square inch of wall space. There was often only one person staffing the desk, so I gave up trying to call down. And the wifi was atrocious. Most parts of our room would drop the signal for 30 minutes or more, even in non-peak hours. And while the staff we experienced were nice, they certainly didn't get all of our details correctly. We reserved two rooms with two people each (e-mail confirmation says so), but they said they didn't have it in their system. One person ended up on a sofa bed and another initially had no towels. Overall, it was a nice idea, but I wouldn't stay here again. read more

We spent a week in this hotel while we explored Vancouver and were very happy with our stay. The rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable, and the staff have been extremely helpful. And the hotel breakfast is lovely, with lots of choices of fresh hot food. It is conveniently located right in downtown near the shuttle buses to capilano and whistler. My only complaint is that the WiFi is rather intermittent and slow. But at least it is free. read more

We stayed here for 3 nights during our stay in Vancouver. It's cute and lush, and conveniently located in the downtown financial district (within walking distance to a bunch of fun stuff, i.e. Gastown, Coal Harbour, Chinatown, West End/Davie Village, etc). B. was able to secure a great deal on Expedia for a flight/hotel package, so our nightly rate was extremely reasonable. They set us up in a suite on the 6th floor, with a nice view of the street bustle below. There were two large flat-screen TV's in our room, as well as a sitting area with a couch and desks. Everything in the hotel was furnished in a Louis XIV style (the "Sun King"), ranging from rich red/gold sheets and crystal chandeliers in the main lobby--which sounds sort of gaudy, but it really isn't at all. Everything was charming and adorable, and extremely clean. They do their homework. I also have to mention the staff. Everyone was great, especially the concierge (Brett). He was really helpful when we asked for information on how to get around... you know, tourist-y stuff. We'll definitely come back the next time we return to Vancouver. read more

Lovely hotel. The hubby and I went for a weekend in Vancouver and I found this hotel on Expedia. It is a beautiful hotel in a great location. The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms are charming. This will be our regular hotel when we go to Vancouver. read more

Was really pretty. Check in was a breeze, as was the valet parking. Stayed here with my boyfriend so I don't remember how much it was but there was a parking charge of $25 CND for 1 day. Room was clean and well stocked. Not much else to say, since staying for 1 day doesn't really teach one much but if I come stay in Vancouver again, will be happy to stay here again. Also included WiFi, which was very good. read more

Best concierge around! Brett did not let us down. Awesome location, walkable to mostly everything a tourist would want to see, and close proximity to train station. Clean, spacious rooms, and many a good deal to be had if you ask. Aveda products in the bathrooms, sweet! Soft linens on the beds - skip the bathrobes, scratchy! Starbucks across the street. Free wi-fi! A great value. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! read more

This was our hotel during our recent stay in Vancouver. Located in downtown, it allows you to easily check out other parts of Vancouver by foot, bus or SkyTrain. When we entered we were immediately greeted by staff and our check in was quick and simple. Decor is uniquely designed with a gold theme. Our corner suite was clean with the same decor but a bit small. Not much to see out our windows besides neighboring business buildings. Location is safe and was about 4 block from the SkyTrain's Waterfront station. Not a whole lot of restaurant choices nearby so you'll need to do some exploring for eats. We did not try the hotel's restaurant. We enjoyed our stay and would consider staying at this hotel again. read more

I found this downtown hotel through one of the prominent hotel-finding sites, and couldn't have been happier with the selection. We visited Vancouver on 24 December, so we were probably there during the "off season". Off season or no, the price was VERY reasonable, the rooms were wonderful, and the staff was exceptional. We stayed in a two-room suite with a great view. Each room had a temperature control, which made for comfortable sleeping. We didn't eat at the restaurant / bar, but it looked pretty nice. The hotel is walking distance from the many restaurants on Robson Street; that's where we ate breakfast in the morning. The hotel has valet parking available ($22CDN/night); street parking and parking garages are available nearby, if you choose to go that way. I heartily recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Vancouver. Unique Qualities: The feather bed was a nice touch. The overall decor of the room was top notch. As another reviewer noted, there is a "gentleman's club / spa" next door. read more

Customer service like this is rare in Vancouver and this place knows exactly what they are doing. Huge kudos to Aaron the valet, warm welcome, great smile and a genuinely nice guy. Check in was great and this is where it gets magical. In any hotel, from a Motel 6 to Shangri-la, sometimes a small detail can be overlooked. There was a tiny issue with our room, my husband went down to inform the staff and upon learning it was my birthday, put us in another room with no issue, came up personally with our champagne on ice to check to see if everything was up to our standards and it most certainly was. I would like to thank the staff for making my birthday memorable. A few more notes: The beds. They are too comfy and therefore makes a noon checkout hard. Room service: prompt and very good. Its hard to get over medium eggs to stay over medium all the way to the 16th floor so unless the chef was cooking up there, pretty impeccable timing. This is so not a huge deal and this is common in all hotels, Bluetooth speakers would be a nice touch. Unless you have an iPhone, for us Android users, it can be a dad situation but it's a pretty standard practice in every hotel I've stayed in. Great job and we will be back. read more

Late December and we ventured into the big city once again this time to enjoy the hustle & bustle of shoppers and to see all the xmas decorations and lights. The Soleil was part of a downtown Vancouver promo so we decided to revisit this wonderful boutique hotel. This time is was room 911 also a one bedroom suite however this time the HVAC system operated at normal levels which allowed for a peaceful uninterrupted overnight snooze! This hotel is a definite must for any overnighting in town. It's location is steps from the port; gizzillions of great food & beverage haunts; a grocery store and the huge Pacific Center shopping mall with the new Nordstrom's now open and quite lovely! You'll enjoy your stay at Le Soleil!! read more

Stayed at this hotel in November/December 2020. I had to provide a deposit for the room upon check-in. I was told the deposit would be returned at check-out. The deposit was never returned. Multiple follow-up communication to the hotel regarding getting the deposit back and they have been unresponsive and refuse to return the deposit. There was no damage to the room and no cause for not returning the deposit. In the process of going to small claims court to get the deposit back. Save yourself the hassle and avoid staying at this hotel. read more

Great location downtown. Hotel is quite quaint. I had stayed here several years ago and decided to return. Just as good as ever. Decor is very gold and rich. Rooms are furnished with all the amenities. Clean and cozy. Consistently great. read more

My boyfriend surprised me with a last minute trip to Vancouver for Valentine's weekend. I wasn't convinced he was going to find decent digs so last minute, but he did. This hotel has everything you'd want and is in walking distance to all the good stuff downtown. The decor is a little lavish in a palace of Versailles kind of way, but not tacky. Everything was extremely comfortable and I have zero complaints. The restaurant in the lobby is also really good and we were able to have a last minute romantic dinner there. read more

This hotel is in a great location in downtown Vancouver, Canada. Just a quick walk to most places to shop and dine. The hotel customer service is very courteous and friendly. They offer valet parking for a $37 service fee. The only downside we could say is about the lack of a bath tub and the rooms are not so spacious for a large family but good enough to stay the night. read more

- rooms are tiny (although they are considered suites) - decor is quite dated + staff is friendly and helpful + excellent location read more

"Hidden Gem Amongst the Big Boys" Hotel Le Soleil is exactly that, if you want to get away from the what I call the "big boys" of the hotel world Hyatt, Sheraton, Marriott, etc. etc. This is a great place to stay. The location is pretty good, while it is centrally located in downtown it is kind of tucked away from the hub bub of all the nightlife so there's a great balance between feeling in the middle of downtown and yet have some distance form it. The shopping center in downtown is just a few minutes walk, and so is Robson street, the Vancouver Art gallery, and there is a Tim Hortons just a few block away which is a major plus. The Staff was friendly, and very knowledgeable, they help make the hotel a great one. All the rooms in the hotel are suites, it was huge it had a bedroom separate from the sitting room. There was free wifi in the hotel which is another plus because even the chains don't have that. The bed it self was big and comfortable. Overall this is a small, quaint, and charming little hotel with great value and good location, so it's a great alternative to the chain hotels this is THE place to stay in Vancouver. read more

Two thumbs up for this fantastic boutique hotel in Downtown Van. While the posted rates are on the pricier side, searching the travel sites revealed a much better deal. The rooms are fantastic. Beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable, exactly what you would expect from a hotel of this caliber. Rich plush towels, quality toiletries, a comfortable bed, and complete sound insulation were great features. The rooms were truly a home away from home, making them a comfortable place to relax and spend time in. Friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable staff rounded our a fantastic stay at Hotel Le Soleil. I will definitely consider this location when I travel again. read more

Nice lobby, that's it. Service at the lobby was bad. Nobody knows what they are doing except for the valet guy named Max.

One of my better hotel visits in recent memory. Professional, curteous staff and clean rooms were a delight for us. Location is amazing as well, with a cute restaurant in the lobby. Prices were reasonable and it just had a classic, classy character that was memorable. read more

I stayed here with my sister on a unplanned trip to the Northwest. It was a nice trip away from the drag of regular life. The Hotel was beautiful from top to bottom. The service was friendly and courteous. The mattresses were actually mattresses!! I had a free stay here, so it was even more fun, because it was on the house. read more

Very quaint and charming hotel. The location is pretty good and the staff are SUPER friendly. We were upgraded to a bedroom with a separate suite and it was nice to have the extra couch and lounge space. I think that this hotel is perfect for a romantic getaway but could be small for a family. The prices are usually more affordable than the other hotels in the proximity too! read more

Clean, friendly, reasonably priced, free wifi, very comfortable beds, and a killer location in downtown Vancouver. Did I mention the cute little bar downstairs attached to the restaurant? Also, the rooms are more than decent sized, making for a very comfortable stay. Definitely worth it. read more

The boutique hotel is conveniently located to many downtown attractions and train station. The suite we stayed in was a bit smallish for 3 people (1 full bed, 1 sofa bed) but we did get a really good deal via Expeida so can't complain much. The room did have two 42"LCD TVs,a Keurig coffee maker and large shower stall (no tub). Other good things-friendly service, quiet street location, Aveda bath products, complimentary newspapers. There is a $8.95 charge for internet but you can overcome that by going to the Starbucks across the street. Cab ride to the airport was around $32. read more

LOVED this hotel. Beautifully appointed; within walking distance of lots of cool stuff--including a pick-up point for the hop on/hop off bus which is a great way to see the entire city. read more

When we travel to Vancouver, this is where we stay. Once we found this gem of a boutique hotel, we stopped looking at other options. Our most recent stay was last weekend (three nights, four days). We found a deal on their website for free valet parking if we booked directly through them. Thank You! Yes, what a deal - Vancouver parking is very expensive. You can walk anywhere from this central location...Robson, Sky Train station a block away, Yaletown, etc. We even walked down to catch the AquaBus to Granville Island. Worth it. I see others had issues with their wifi. First, I guess we were lucky...we had no issues. Second, they were in the process of upgrading access points in each room! So they clearly listen to their guests. Indian Fusion food being offered in the downstairs attached restaurant was not to our tastes, but the bar has whatever you might need to wind down from a day of exploring. read more

If you are looking for a different option from the big box hotel options closer to the seaport, this is the boutique hotel for you. The entrance is slightly non descript such that only the people who are staying here are coming in and out as opposed to the folks staying near the convention center and their fancy hotel bars. I really liked how the staff was friendly and made an effort to learn your name. The rooms reminded me of Paris in terms of styling. Our bed was super comfortable given that my wife and i are pretty particular about beds. The room was clean and the cleaning staff were excellent. Check in and check out were effortless. We went with a breakfast package and the breakfast in the morning was top notch at the chimney restaurant. The hotel is within walking distance of everything (chinatown, the train, the seaplanes). Granville island is about a 20-30 min walk away plus aquabus. There are some pretty good restaurants within a 10 min walk. Overall, my wife and i were very happy staying here. read more

Very nice hotel in a great location in Vancouver. The hotel and rooms are very clean. The rooms are well decorated but the area with the bed was a little tight (there was another room as you walk in the door). The front desk also recommended some great places to eat while we were there and were very helpful. read more

Our second time staying at the hotel. We stayed for valentines and upon returning home to ontario saw that our Visa had a random $213.00 amount charged to it. We called and nobody could tell us what the amount was for, and guessed that another guests charge was put on our card, excuse me?!?!? it's been SIX WEEKS since our stay, and i've called multiple times speaking with the accounting department and the hotel manager STILL no resolve and no money credited back to our Visa. This stay was supposed to be a gift to my boyfriend and this entire mess has completely spoiled the occasion and is still an ongoing stress. the room service food was ok, cold when it arrived to our room which kind of spoiled it. read more

There are too many amazing things to say about Le Soleil. I'll try to say what I can but the important point is that this hotel is truly first class. The room was great, the bathroom was great. The staff was amazing and helpful. The location was quite convenient. For a room rate of 115 around the holidays, it was a steal. I'll definitely stay here again. I heard from some other people in hospitality at other locations, that Le Soleil was a great property which further enforced my experience/feeling... read more

Boutique hotel...beautifully decorated and very detail oriented. The colours are golds and reds. I spent a night here once and the rooms were fairy large and the bed was very comfortable. Since it's downtown the location is very convenient right beside a steak house, a strip club and Starbucks, parkade and a Chanel store. Overall, if I had to pick boutique it would not be the first on my list but it wouldn't be the last. read more

This hotel was incredible! I can only comment on what I experienced but everything was exceptional except for the view and some noise. I thought the staff was really friendly and accommodating. I had even mentioned that I needed to call home a few times and they waived the local telephone charge as I had a calling card. The hotel was very ornate so if your looking for a modern looking hotel this is not the place for you. Nevertheless the lobby and rooms were decorated tastefully and it was very clean. In addition, I liked how there were 2 seperate tvs (One in the bedroom and one in the living area.) The price is very affordable also compared to others that had a great location! It was located between Robson St and Canada Pl and there were alot of restaurants nearby. There were just a few reasons I didn't give this hotel 5 stars. We were in room 315 and the view was that of the loading/unloading area and of an electricity pole. The garbage truck that came in the morning was a little annoying also. I'm assuming that if you ask for an upper floor you will not be hampered by the issues that I experienced. Hope this helps and happy travels! read more

LOVELOVELOVED my stay at this hotel last year. It's in a great location with easy access to public transportation and everything downtown VanCity has to offer. The decor in the lobby is gorgeous, and the front desk staff was very friendly as well. Check in was easy. The room my husband and I stayed in was beautiful. There was an adorable little living room, then a small hallway where the bathroom, closets, mini fridge, and wet bar were; past that was the bedroom. The beds were very comfortable. The views outside our room were great. We didn't indulge in the alcohol in the room, though we did appreciate the variety offered. The bathroom was spacious and the hot water seemingly never ran out in the shower. Huge plus for me! I also appreciated that there was a large umbrella in the room to use on rainy days. And well, it's Vancouver, and it was November, so it rained every single day we were there. I can't wait to stay here again. Fantastic spot for a couples getaway! read more

Stayed here July 29 and 30, 2011. Pros Good value, paid $250 a night Spacious mini suites for 1-2 persons Two large flat screen tvs Nice bath products by Aveeda Quiet Great location, within walking distance of Robson, Gastown and easy in/out of city to 99 Cons Wifi is not free. It is $8.99 a day which I refuse to pay. There is no pool, spa or health club on premise. You have to pay for use of facility next door. read more

The staff at Le Soleil are the best, most accommodating and pleasant hoteliers I have ever experienced.
