A friend and I were bringing my mother to Vancouver for an overnight (from Seattle), and we opted to grab rooms at OPUS Hotel because of the location. Because the weekend was planned as a treat, we wanted to make sure the hotel and room(s) felt luxurious, and OPUS seemed like it would be the best bet. While the location of the hotel is great, the rooms were, unfortunately, lacking. I can't comment much on my friend's room (since I didn't stay in it), other than the fact that he was expecting a room that opened up to the courtyard and instead ended up assigned a room on the 7th floor that basically overlooked the top of the tree that was in the courtyard. There was no stepping out of his room into the courtyard area. Given the pictures he had seen of the room style that he picked? That's what he expected. Unfortunately, no... not what he was provided. My mother and I stayed in a double superior room on the 4th floor (the only room style option that seemed to come with two double beds). When we entered the room, it seemed nice enough... but the first thing I noticed after putting my bags down was how dusty the remote was. There was literally a thick layer of dust on the remote for the TV that I had to wipe away before using it. To add to that, it looks like the room hadn't been properly vacuumed as there were various specks of dirty and fabric-like bits on the carpet. The heated floor that was promised for the bathroom never seemed to actually heat up either, and there were tiles in the shower that appeared stained. It's nice that there's a big window in the bathroom that can let in natural light, but it also basically means you either have to keep the blinds closed the entire time you're using the room *OR* just be comfortable with the fact that you have no privacy. Yes, you get a complementary sparkling beverage (or water) upon check-in... that's nice. And yes, the hotel staff left a box with 3 small desserts in the room my mother and I shared (I let them know we were celebrating her birthday and noted that if there was anything they could do to help make it special then that would be lovely). But those things don't offset the fact that this was an expensive hotel that left quite a bit to be desired as far as the overall hotel experience. Would I recommend it to others? Nah... not unless you have money to burn.

Sparkling wine at check in

Love, love loved this hotel. The service was so, incredibly friendly and accommodating, our room was amazing, the location is perfect, and it's really not that expensive considering how crazy hotel prices have gone in the past 5 years. They gave us sparkling wine when we checked in as well as the option to upgrade from a room to a pretty fabulous suite, and I think the upgrade was maybe only an extra $100. The highlights were the panoramic view of downtown, two bathrooms, heated floors and of course the Dyson hairdryer. The concierge incredible. He was so friendly and helpful. I wish I could remember his name. He arranged dinner for us, gave us lots of tips, and just, overall, made us feel welcome and like very important guests. I am pretty sure he makes everyone feel that way. Great place!

The e-bikes are free to use at the OPUS and offer a great way to see Stanley Park!

When I think about my stays at Vancouver's Opus Hotel,, two words spring to mind. THE BEST. This wonderful boutique hotel features the BEST and most attentive staff, the BEST Yaletown location and the BEST and most comfortable accommodations. My wife and I first stayed at the Opus back in 2018 and that visit was absolutely the BEST in every way. When we decided to vacation in Vancouver in 2024 there was no question that we wanted to return to the Opus. But we wondered ... could this stellar hotel still be as good six years later? Well, we quickly and happily discovered that not only is the Opus as good as it was, amazingly it is still the BEST! From the moment you walk through the lobby doors and are greeted with a glass of rosé, the staff makes you feel like family. Each and every member of the Opus team(Guillan, Josh, Mateus, Nav, Nelson, Justin among all the other superstars) go out of their way to ensure that your every need is met. They are a well-oiled machine, but they are not a machine at all ---they are warm and wonderful human beings. This spirit of hospitality and impeccable professionalism stems from Scott, the manager (who is an absolute delight) and Dorothy, the front end manager whose smile lights up the room. Need dining advice? They've got it!! Need a reservation for a tough-to-get-into restaurant? They will get it! As for the physical hotel itself, walking into the Opus is like stepping into a sanctuary. Sophisticated, yet homey and oh so cool!!!! The rooms are impeccably furnished, and the beds and linens are perfection. Oh, and the very BEST part of the Opus? The free to use E-Bikes? The great bar? Everything is perfect but my favorite thing about the Opus is the heated bathroom floor in my room!! If you are looking for one of those cavernous, impersonal chain hotels, the Opus is not for you. But... if you want a truly unforgettable Vancouver experience, then book this beautiful boutique gem. We cannot wait to return. It is truly the BEST in every way.

We had a very comfortable stay here at OPUS. We loved it for its location and the amazing restaurant they have attached, Capo. The staff were super nice and the rooms were nice. Definitely will be back again when we're in Vancouver next.

From the moment we pulled up to the valet through every interaction with room service and housekeeping, the team made us feel like royalty -- attentive without ever being intrusive, polished without feeling rehearsed. The room itself was a highlight. Soaking in the tub with the ocean and the North Shore mountains framed in front of us is an image I'll be holding onto for a long time. It's the kind of view the city is famous for, delivered from the comfort of your own suite.

Everything here feels modern, clean, and luxurious. Our room was beautiful, especially the bathroom with its dual sinks, separate bathtub and rain shower, and separate area for toilet. The Le Labo products were a nice touch, and everything from the towels, robes, slippers, and bedding felt luxe and high end. These beds and pillows were some of the best hotel beds/pillows I've ever slept on. We all slept so well! We also ordered room service for breakfast and everything was so good, with reasonable room service prices for the amount you get. Didn't use the gym, but it's recently renovated and beautiful. They provide iced water infused with electrolytes and there are even Pilates machines! There's also a heated rooftop outdoor pool that we didn't have time to take advantage of too. Not only is this hotel amazing, but it's in a prime location to everything - especially if you're a first time visitor to Vancouver. It's super easy to hop on the shuttle to the suspension bridge, or take a sea boat or hop on the subway to/from the airport. It's also walking distance to Gastown, Robson Street, Stanley Park and the Seawall. Highly recommend this hotel if you're in the city!

I've always…read morewanted to stay at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia (on W Georgia St) or the L'Hermitage Hotel (on Richards St) as they're located closer to the places I frequented when in town so this time, I checked on availability and pricing. A one-bedroom signature suite at L'Hermitage was significantly less than a regular room at the Pan Pacific and the Rosewood so I booked 3 nights ($625CAD/night). I got off the Silver Moon at 9:45am, handed my luggage off to a representative from Luggage Forward, and walked from the cruise terminal up to the hotel. My room wasn't ready, so I dropped off my carry-on and backpack and went shopping and to have lunch. I was still on my way to CF Pacific Centre when the front desk called, informing me my room was ready. I told them I'd return after lunch. Wow, I loved my room (707)! As you entered through a short hallway, you found yourself looking at a full kitchen to your right, bathroom to your left and then the bedroom, past a closet housing a stack washer/dryer. The living room was bright and airy because there were walls of glass. Past the kitchen was a den with a desk and sofa. Off the living room was a small lanai overlooking the pool. The kitchen featured a gas range, full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. It was like a timeshare unit, not a hotel room, as there was tableware, glassware, etc. The only nitpick was the bathroom; it didn't quite measure up to the rest of the unit. It was small, with a full-sized glass-enclosed tub, a Toto (but without the washlet) toilet, and a small vanity and shelf unit opposite the vanity. It was totally functional, but I wished the tub had a shower wand, not just the rain head. If I could, I'd want this room moved to Hawaii to become my residence. The front desk staff were personable and friendly. The exercise facilities were fine. The L'Orangerie restaurant is located on the 5th floor ... more on that in a separate review. All told, I found the L'Hermitage to be perfect for me and will now be my hotel of choice when in Vancouver.

My favorite amenities--clothing steamer and hot water kettle--were promptly delivered. What's better than tea and wrinkle-free clothes? The room was quiet and afforded me uninterrupted sleep. The lighting at the desk caused my colleagues to compliment my visage on video conference calls. The location was an easy walk to everywhere I needed to go in Vancouver. L'Orangerie, the dining room and lounge on the fifth floor, was a lovely place to take tea and lunch. My dining companion and I had the place nearly to ourselves. On my next visit to Vancouver, I hope I'll be lucky enough to stay at L'Hermitage again.
