When I grow up I want to be the snack manager for the Loden. With how often little treats appear during your stay, surely this must be a thing! The Loden was a 5 star experience start to finish. When we arrived, a staff member came right out and whisked our bags away to our room. The lobby isn't huge but is comfy with coffee in the morning and wine & snacks in the afternoon + tea & cookies all day. Our room (1001) was perfection. Spacious. Plenty of storage for your belongings. Beautiful view of the city. Quiet. Gorgeous bathroom with a deep spa tub and a great shower. But, it was the service that sets the Loden apart. Every staff member we interacted with was cheerful and seemingly happy to see us and interested in our trip and experience. Each evening turn-down service featured a new snack and fresh water. At the end of our stay our car was ready within 5 minutes of calling the front desk and our EV was returned fully charged. There were so many little stand-out details like this that set the Loden apart. Tableau is a great spot to grab breakfast, happy hour, or dinner. We found ourselves stopping in frequently. As with the hotel, service was wonderful. It was a refreshing change of pace as hotel guests to be treated truly as a "guest" and not as an imposition. The Loden Hotel is a 77 room boutique hotel sitting squarely in Coal Harbour. I'm about to list a plethora of great things about the hotel, but, at the same time I can't recommend it. Read on to find out or just skip to the bottom. The Good: So first of all, let's mention the staff. The staff are wonderful here. Could not have been more helpful, friendly, or supportive. Again, absolutely amazing. A full five stars in this department. We received two handwritten notes from the VP and a bottle of Champagne as a welcome. The snacks as mentioned by other reviewers, are top notch, from luxurious chocolates, to nuts, to premium bottles of water. There is a turn-down service every night and they refill the coffee maker with water, and include a jug of fresh water for you. Bath Toiletries are Molten Brown, which, I have to admit are my favorite brand. The gym is well equipped, including Pelotons, yoga mats, free weights and a punching bag! The location is perfect, a 15 min walk to Canada Line but only a 5 min walk to the Expo Line, just down the street from Canada Place. Walking to Robson is convenient and easy. So whats the problem? This is a 2025 Michelin Star hotel. As such, it needs something extra, something special, something to make it stand out. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the je ne sais quoi, especially for the price point. You see, the rooms lacking in some key areas, for what you pay. The size of our corner room was 385 square feet, on the smaller side, and lacking amenities. The small, 35 inch TV, you can't cast anything from your phone. Power outlets are minimal, in fact, we couldn't even find ONE convenient one in the entire hotel room. Bath amenities were lacking, with no toothbruth or comb. Finally, I've stayed at over 500 hotels in the last four years and this is the first hotel I've come across in this time frame with no iron in the room? (Canada Law maybe?) Also, the hotel contracts out to Airline Crews and staff, so walking through the hotel seeing lots of pilots and such, not only lessens the experience I'm supposed to be anticipating by the MIchein Star rating, but also now I know the rooms could be had for much less, due to the explicit attempt to reach out to airlines by the hotel to offer rooms at a few cheaper rate. :-( The resort is billed as a quiet retreat, but both the windows and walls are very thin. I could hear by next door neighbor eating alone..just the silverware, and every siren outside comes through quite loudly. At this price point, or actually, even cheaper, you are better off at the Metropolitan or the Sutton Place, both of which I have stayed at with both rooms being superior to what I had at Loden, at a cheaper price point. read more

Great staff, checked in early. Our bags were held for us while we took a walk then taken to our room. The room had a great view and the bed was so comfortable. The ADA shower did leave a lot of room for the water to spill out onto the floor but other than that the room is really nice. Can't say it enough to stay for amazing. This was an amazing hotel! The shining point for me was the staff. From the moment we parked we were welcomed with genuine warmth and cheerfulness! I believe this "little" boutique hotel derives its charm from this friendly atmosphere. The front desk staff actually and out to meet us and one served as a valet while the other took our luggage and proceeded to check us in. Check in was smooth and actually quite enjoyable as they both gave us their favorite places to eat and sights to see. Somehow during that process our luggage was surprisingly whisked away to our room ready for our arrival. Our room was on the second floor and had access to their garden terrace. The room was luxurious and comfortable. Fanciest bathroom I've seen. There was a sliding wall that separated the bathroom from the bedroom. We didn't ask for housekeeping for our short stay but we did have turndown service where they delivered ice water and chocolates. Classy =). There is a fantastic French restaurant next door that serves the hotel. Please see my review for that establishment. The Loden is pretty central to everything. We took short walks to local restaurants, the shopping district, as well as the waterfront. Highly recommend the Loden for your Vancouver experience!!! read more

Cutest lobby, great location, wonderful staff, and excellent rooms. An unexpectedly underrated little hotel gem.

We could not have loved the Loden Hotel more. It's a great location for walking to the waterfront, shopping and restaurants. The shower water pressure was good on the 8th floor. There was a nightly turndown service with a carafe of refreshing lemon water delivered in the late afternoon. The Nespresso coffee machine worked great and the hotel was generous with the coffee capsules when asked. The towels in the bathroom were super-puffy and extra large. The staff were uniformly kind and attentive. They gave us free parking (the other option was free breakfast, but we went for the parking) - and without asking, they even recharged my EV! The exercise facilities were very well-maintained and very clean. I literally have nothing negative to say about the Loden Hotel. read more

The best thing is the free bikes you can check out and ride around Stanley park or to Granville Island. Free breakfast is also awesome you just order a la carte off the menu for up to $60. We stayed here in October 2021 for my birthday and it was one of the greatest birthday trips I've ever had. Mind you, we booked our reservation through the American Express platinum concierge service, which is great because it gives you a plethora of benefits including food and beverage credit, a room upgrade, early check-in and late check out. So everything I write about my experience here is including these awesome benefits from the credit card. We checked into this lovely boutique hotel in downtown Vancouver and were treated really well and really nicely and they noted that it was my birthday and over the weekend that we were there provided us with various gifts including champagne, wine, chocolates and a birthday dessert. The room upgrade we got was to a corner suite which was stunning and had its own living room and dining room area. We are able to host my relatives that live in Vancouver for my birthday for dessert and hang out and was able to six people comfortably. T he only thing that I wish they would approve on hopefully in the future is a spa on site that is worthy of the luxury accommodations that they provide for all the other facets of staying at the hotel. We booked two massages and the room where the spa is is very lackluster and bare-bones - something you would expect to see in a strip mall or some thing. They also have a sitting dry sauna for two people which was interesting. There's also a nice gym in the same floor and overall we enjoyed our time. They also have bike cruisers that you can use to drive around the city. We will definitely be coming back soon and hopefully those other services will be open. They also have a lovely restaurant called tableau on their main floor where we ate one night using the food and beverage credit which was great. We had an amazing stay at Loden. The staff were super nice and the service was amazing. The room was super spacious and we had a balcony to get access to the outside open area of the hotel. It was walking distance to the downtown area. They provide valet service so we didn't have to worry about parking. Their breakfasts from Tableau Bar Bistro were delicious. Service were incredible and you can stay until 3-4PM for checkout which is a lot later than normal hotels and lodging services. read more

I purchased a room for this hotel through a Priceline deal. The photos looked really nice and the price wasn't bad. My husband and I stayed one night here after a cruise. We were able to walk from Canada Place to the Loden Hotel but I don't recommend it with heavy luggage as a lot of the walk was up hill lol. We were not informed that the street in front of the hotel was under construction so it was difficult to find at first. Once we got there we were greeted at the door by a lovely front desk worker and we were checked in. It was early in the morning so our room wasn't ready yet, but the staff member directed us to the lobby restrooms to freshen up and offered us some water, and held our luggage for us. We were told we would receive a phone call when our room was ready, which unfortunately did not happen but the room was still ready a little before check-in time. We were escorted to the elevators and our luggage was brought up within minutes. Super nice room! Very large with a king size bed, large bathroom with a Dyson hair dryer and amazing smelling amenities, a sofa area, and a ton of floor to ceiling windows. Very quiet on our stay and the bed was super comfy. One thing that I couldn't fully appreciate was the amount of light switches, dimmers, etc that were all located in the bathroom. I did utilize one of the dimmers that night so we had a nightlight for the bathroom, but it took me a minute to figure out what was what lol. Also there are two buttons on the wall outside of the bathroom - one is like a do not disturb button, and the other tells the front desk that you need something and they call you (but it was labeled something different). We hit the 2nd button not knowing what it did and the front desk called immediately asking if something was wrong with the room. Oops. Don't push random buttons like we did lol. The hotel staff left us a handwritten card welcoming us to the hotel, bottles of (free) Fiji water, and some chocolates - it was a nice surprise and a thoughtful gesture. We took a cruise that started and ended in Vancouver, so we book-ended it with two nights at the Loden before we left and one when we returned. We did not regret that decision one bit! The Loden is in a very nice part of town, and around a half mile from the cruise ship terminal. This made it very convenient for us just to walk to the terminal when we started the cruise and to walk back to the Loden when we were finished. Our rooms were comfortable and well appointed. There's a restaurant, Tableau, just off of the lobby that has excellent cocktails (don't miss happy hour) and very nice sidewalk dining. The neighborhood is full of fun bars, restaurants, stores, etc. and it's an easy walk to the water or up to Gastown, What really made our stays there great, though, was the service. The staff is very nice and seem to honestly want to do anything they can to give you a great experience. They will set you up with bikes to ride around Stanley Park. Their restaurant recommendations were spot-on and they made the reservations for us. When it looked like we might need to stay an extra night due to a cancelled flight (Air Canada does NOT get five, or even two stars), they were all set to help make sure we'd have a place to stay if we needed it. I was treated to a two night stay in this amazing boutique hotel recently. The unassuming main entrance opens to a warm and inviting lobby with an even warmer welcome from the front desk staff. This is just the beginning of the top notch service I received at the Loden. I stayed in a suite on the twelfth floor with ocean and North shore mountain views. The four room suite was immaculately clean and luxuriously comfortable. In addition to the living/dining area and bedroom, there was a spacious bathroom and dressing room. This is a luxury stay and every detail is thoughtfully delivered from a choice of pillow to top of the line toiletries, and from the monogrammed bathrobe and slippers to treats tailored to each guest. Staff even welcome you with a hand written note and I cannot emphasise enough how thoughtful, kind and attentive the staff were during my stay. My suite was so comfortable, quiet and calm that I could have stayed in it for the full two days without a second thought. I really only ventured out for food and the sea breeze. The Loden is conveniently located just a few blocks from the seawall and close to Stanley Park, and the hotel provides guests with bikes during their stay to explore at their leisure. I took advantage of this treat. I couldn't have hoped for a more relaxing staycation, and I left feeling like I had had a real break from 2020. The best hotel experience we have had so far! Stanislov truly went above and beyond. He made sure we had a personalized experience the 4 days we visited. He was friendly, professional, and attentive to the smallest details. We would return here just based on Stanislov's hospitality. We had a large corner room with a great city/harbor view. The room was clean, and spacious. The washroom was large and had everything I needed. Next visit we will borrow their bikes to ride out to Stanley Park. Our room was not ready because we were early but they stored our luggage so we could walk around. Also called when room was ready. When we returned the luggage was already in the room. How wonderful! The Loden is a great hotel, and it's where I'm going to stay from now on. I took a Loden Signature King room; spacious with an L-shaped sofa and coffee table, plenty of desk space, pristine bathroom, lots of closet and drawer space, and the staff is fabulous. They made everything easy: check in / check out, valet parking, services - perfect. "Living" on Robson St is fine, but I enjoy the variety of walking down the other streets to and from "home." This is the best hotel staying experience I've ever had. On the day before the stay, they called to ask me if I had any special needs, and approximately when I would arrive so they could get ready on time. I asked for a crib (which was already in the room when I arrived), and said that I could arrive as early as 12PM. Although their check-in time was 2PM, they happily agreed that my room would be ready by noon. By far this had been way beyond my expectation already. On the day I arrived, they offered free valet parking and charging for my Tesla. They greeted us very courteously, and explained our benefit from Amex card in very details. They guided us to the elevator as well. I've never experienced any hotel service like this before in the US, even the ones 3x as expensive. Their room was clean, neat, and looked contemporarily styled. Because of Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts program, I got $125 credit at the hotel (including the restaurant downstairs, Tableau, which was also incredibly good), in addition to daily breakfast credit for two (~$70 daily - I don't remember the exact number). Finally, their location was very convenient, which was one of the major reason we chose this hotel in the first place. This is a no-brainer for me if I need to stay at Vancouver next time. read more

This was my first trip to Canada, and Loden was a great place to stay as a tourist. The hotel is very classy, including evening treats. The hotel is also conveniently located in downtown Vancouver. I could walk to Granville Island, the steam-powered clock, Chinatown, the waterfront, and some nearby bars and restaurants. I took advantage of the complimentary bikes and rode around Stanley park. It was a wonderful experience. The concierge services called me before my trip to ask about my stay and emailed me some recommendations for food and drinks. At check-in, the hostess gave me a small orientation to the area so I could understand where everything was. I highly recommend a visit here, and if I return to Vancouver, this would be my choice of hotel. read more

What a fantastic hotel. Located in the middle of everything. Walk to we work in less than 10 mins (remote work FTW!). Small but efficient gym. Great beautiful classy rooms. Fast wifi. And incredible restaurant, with really really good food. The included breakfast was delicious (so so so good). Staff here is amazing, greet you daily on a name basis, always free to chat about anything and everything. Free bikes were so clutch, we rode around the bay and back and it was so nice to have the bikes. So many good restaurants around the area, and coffee and drugstore only a few mins away. Extraordinary service and comfort at this hotel. Room was very comfortable and clean and had a nice deep bath and separate luxurious shower. Booked this using the Amex Fine Hotels and Resorts program and they went above and beyond in providing all the benefits. We arrived into Vancouver very early, but they had a room available and checked us in at 9AM. With the program we got two breakfasts at their fabulous French restaurant Tableau, including some very good cappuccinos and mochas. Also a $125 credit that we used to eat three more meals at that same restaurant. On our final day we checked out at 4PM. I would come back here any time and it's shot up to the top of my list for Vancouver hotels. Location was wonderful being just a 10 minute walk from Canada Place, where we were in town for a convention. This hotel is da bomb. 1) The staff. Honestly, everything else could have gone wrong, but this staff would still earn this place 5 stars. I know what you're thinking - what does the staff do, besides check you in and out, and clean the room? Well, the Loden's staff greets you every time you come back and ask how your day is going, what you were up to, etc. They say bye when you leave and wish you a good day! But they also went above and beyond for everything - from breakfast, to parking, to the complimentary car service when the driver took us to a restaurant, let us get take out, and then DROVE US BACK. WHAT. We left at 615 am to the airport and the guy at the front desk had already printed out my receipt to look over to save us time, so we wouldn't have to stand at the desk. Honestly, this was the best hotel staff in any hotel I've ever stayed at, and I usually stay at 5 star places because I'm a hotel snob. 2) There was a huge whole of construction next to the hotel. When we arrived I was super nervous, but it didn't end up being an issue at all, all the suites face the opposite way. 3) You can hook up your laptop to the HDMI cable in the room, so we could watch game of thrones on the tv in the room! Yes, we brought a laptop on vacation so we wouldn't miss GOT. Sorry not sorry. 4) breakfast or free parking is included every night, we did free parking the first night, and then breakfast the other two - the breakfast was a buffet and actually really nice selections like hot oatmeal, pastries, eggs. If you can't make it down to breakfast, they'll bring it up to your room!!! And, the day we didn't get breakfast, they had bananas and apples in the main lobby, alongside water and coffee. 5) The bed was okay. We are very bed picky. It wasn't anything note worthy, but wasn't too bad so as to detract from the overall review. 6) Honestly, I would just stay here to see the staff again and say hi. LOL All stars all around. Had an over night stay here and it was well worth the money. Brought my parents over for an early Mother's Day/belated dad's birthday. Booked this room through my Amex travel and it was amazing. The staff here are super friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We arrived early knowing that my card gives us early check in (if possible). The room wasn't quite ready, but they offered us an upgrade to a one bedroom suite. We still had to wait about 15 minutes as they were doing finishing touches to the room, and we were offered tea, coffee, or water not once, not twice, but three times by different staff members. We got to the room and it was beautiful. The bathroom with its tub, separate toilet and shower. A giant king bed and a sofa bed (sorry dad), I could live there. We stepped out to walk around the harbour for a bit and when we returned there was a bottle of wine, two bottles of Perrier, and two macarons from Thierry. And a vase of roses! They also offer a car service to drop you off anywhere in the downtown Vancouver area, which is awesome. Only downfall is that I wish that they would arrange a pick up service, as well (like at the andaz in Maui). They also have bikes with water and helmets to borrow while you're staying there. Before we went out to dinner, I asked if another duvet could be brought up for the sofa bed. And then we used the car service to go to dinner. When we got back, they had made up the sofa bed, brought chocolate and a mini carafe of cucumber water by the bedside for turndown. Such attention to detail! We really enjoyed a recent weekend stay at the Loden Hotel in Vancouver. The room was moderately (but not off-puttingly) chic and quite comfortable. But what really set the Loden Hotel apart was the top notch service. Everyone we interacted with was delightful. The high level of welcoming, personalized service sets the Loden apart from other hotels in Vancouver. The location is great, too, and the hotel offers bikes to cruise around town. Only word of warning is that there is only one valet spot directly in front of the hotel and it is inevitably taken when you need it. This place is outstanding. First of all, they literally couldn't be nicer, across the board, about everything. Lots of lovely and unusual little touches like a carafe of chilled cucumber water hand delivered to the room each evening, free of charge. The hotel restaurant, Tableu, is fantastic, and getting their menu for room service was a major treat (try the French onion soup, you won't regret it). But then we had a medical emergency, and needed to get to an ER, and that's when these folks shined. First, they volunteered to take us there, rather than make us wait for a cab. Then they sent somebody at 2am to pick us up and bring us back to the hotel after we were released. They immediately extended us late check-out to make sure we didn't have to leave the room other than to get in the cab to the airport. They checked in on us. They pretty much oozed a palpable desire to make us comfortable. It's also a super cute modern design hotel with incredibly comfy beds, awesome full (separate deep tub and shower), and nice decor. I have never felt so welcome in a hotel ever!! Stan and Silvia rushed out to help us with our bags and recommended activities until our room was ready, we had just gotten off of a cruise ship at 8am. The hotel is beautiful and the little touches made all the difference. The sheets and towels were top notch, lemon water and a treat delivered each evening, a yoga mat in the room and bicycles in the lobby to use (so charming). The lighting, bathroom and furniture were all very chic. The hotel is in a great location and breakfast (or parking) was included each morning. But it's the people that made it so special. I'm not sure words can properly express how much I enjoyed my visit to the Loden. I had a bit of a crazy travel day, and I arrived around 8pm without my luggage (sad face), but the crew at the front desk cheered me up right away. They got me checked in, and assured me they'd call as soon as my bag was delivered. I headed upstairs ready to sit down and just relax, but little did I know my room was going to be the best I've ever stayed in. The entire right side of the room was one giant window, which provided one hell of a view. I noticed a pitcher of water on the table next to the bed, and it's like they knew I forgot to drink water most of the day while flying. Can we also talk about the fact that there were two Oreos waiting for me, along with milk in the fridge? Yeah... So just when I thought it couldn't get much better, I walked into the bathroom. There was a HUGE jacuzzi tub, and a giant shower with a waterfall shower head. Guess who wasn't too mad about the bathroom? This girl. Not to mention, I discovered later that the shower products were, go figure, the best I've ever used at a hotel. Also, the morning after I got there, I thought I was opening a closet... but I wasn't. The entire front wall of the bathroom opens up, so you can see the rest of your room & watch TV while getting ready. The bed was comfortable, room service prompt, and the gym was the perfect spot for an early-morning workout. I was so happy to stay here. My only complaint has to do with the TV... lets just say that sometimes, there CAN be too much technology going on. I loved how fancy the settings were, but sometimes ya just want to be able to flip channels without pushing a million buttons to get there. I can only hope I stay here again. read more

From the moment I arrived for my one night stay at the Loden, I knew I was in for a treat... Not only was the location central and walking distance to all kinds of great restaurants and stores, but I received a warm welcome from the bellman as well as the front desk. I was pleasantly surprised by the amenities in my room including free wifi that worked perfectly, high end bathroom toiletries, a comfortable robe, a comfortable bed, a hot shower with great water pressure, and turn-down service that left a pitcher of water and a gourmet truffle. Every question I had was answered promptly by the staff and I felt like a VIP throughout my stay. The only thing that wasn't amazing was the limited breakfast offerings, but I remedied that by walking over to Urban Fare just down the street. (Review on that coming soon). I can't wait to return to Vancouver and will definitely be staying at the Loden again; hopefully next time for more than just one night! read more

I usually don't sleep very well at hotels, but I slept like a baby here. This boutique hotel offered one of the loveliest and most peaceful experiences I've had in a long time. The bed inside my modern decorated room was oh so comfortable and the bathroom was amazing! I may have been the cleanest person in Vancouver because I couldn't help, but take a few extra showers in their incredible shower. Their large gym was full of new equipment and I had it pretty much to myself, except for just one other guest who complained guests didn't do a good job of wiping off the equipment after they used it. We may have different hotel gym standards back in the good old US, but it looked pretty clean to me! They also have a nice bar and restaurant downstairs called Voya. I arrived absolutely famished (as always) and was very pleased with the cheese plate and nachos from the restaurant. I planned on going back for more nachos since they'd make a great late night snack, but I ran out of time. Fortunately, I have a feeling I'll be back soon! read more
