At about 10 o'clock last night I managed to schedule an appointment with the Apple store at Westfarms mall in West Hartford Connecticut so that a tech could look at it in person. My appointment was for 5 PM today. I got there a few minutes ahead of time and was greeted pleasantly and asked to sit down and they would be with me in a few minutes and they were. A technician asked me several questions about the problem, seated me at the table and said he would be right back. He came back with his Macbook, connected up my iPad, put it in DFU mode, and in less than 30 minutes I had ios15.0.2. Through the process he showed me how I could've done this at home if it ever happens again. Terrific job by great people at the Apple store!

You can't stand on your feet? It has to be tush to table? Cool. They saw me walk in and go right to the product I wanted. I know this because the product was five feet past them. Since this store can't just have registers like a normal store, you need an employee to come over and ring you out. I had to go interrupt the gossiping teen boys (ok they were men in their thirties but as far as I care, they had the souls of gossippy teen boys). Nobody who works at this store seems to understand that it is their literal job to help customers. Finally a woman helped me. Interesting. Only saw women helping people. All the men standing around talking to each other like they had a thumb up an orifice. After insisting I give her enough personal information to successfully steal my identity if the store wanted to, I was allowed to purchase some headphones. When I left, the manchildren were still talking about their video game, as they had been the entire time. I think the 20 min I spent in there showed me enough about the management of that location that if I were making decisions, I'd be cutting people. Crap leadership leads to crap behavior from your team and crap experiences for customers is the end result. Thank god I was just passing through and don't have to go back there. Slack jawed buffoons. And one overworked woman.

The Best Buy Marketplace is perhaps the worst idea this company has ever executed…read more You buy a product for delivery on the Best Buy website. They may have it in the store, but you'd like it delivered. In small text it identifies some third party that is going to fulfil the order and delivery--but maybe you didnt catch that or understand what it implicates, afterall you're on the Best Buy website, not on Amazon. If you dont get the product, Best Buy tells you that you have to contact the third party. But you bought it on the Best Buy website! Let's say the product is on sale at Best Buy, and the product is going to be delivered by the third party, but they dont actually make the delivery... and the sale ends... Best Buy may be able to cancel the sale but they wont honor the sale price ... even though you bought it on the Best Buy website during the sale period! Best Buy literally tells you they match sale prices, but they dont match prices of third parties selling stuff on their website! As for returns, if you are a Best Buy + customer, you normally get 60 days... but with this stuff you get 14. I would not be surprised if Best Buy gets sued for this nonsense. They need to clearly say you are not getting the product through Best Buy, so different terms and conditions apply. But they don't. It's misleading based on their standard business practice. It makes me want to go to Amazon or Staples over Best Buy, and I'm sure I'm not alone. I'm trying to support a local Best Buy over Amazon, but if the purchase protocol at Amazon is more predictable, then that's where I'll go.

I normally don't review corporate locations, but the general manager, Lily, is particularly nasty…read moreand I have no idea what business she has managing a store. I had to go here two days in a row due to account issues. The second day I went, I waited for over an hour for some help (which is fine). But someone went and got her from the back so she could help me, and instead she went to another family to help them, a family who was already being helped by someone else. I calmly asked why, and she said that she is translating - but a good manager would have asked the guy who was helping that family to go help the next person in line, if she wanted to help them in Spanish. There is no reason two employees need to help one party. Then someone told her that I was waiting for a long time, and she loudly says, "oh her? She's been here for days," and has the nerve the roll her eyes at me. Then while I'm still waiting, again an employee tells her that I'm next in line and she turns to me and yells, "you're going to have to wait"! I responded, "I didn't say anything..." she said that to me as if I was demanding that she help me, which I had every right to do, but she just screamed that at me unprovoked. Others waiting behind me were even confused and shocked. She truly has no qualifications or personality or customer service, and I can't think of a worse experience I could have had at the Verizon store, after being a Verizon business customer for 15 years now.

I went to the Michael's Jewelers West Farms location this morning. I've been a very good customer…read moreof Michael's for over 20 years. I went to Michael's in response to the printed invitation I received at the store a few weeks ago. Based on the advice given to me back then by Michael's personnel, I made sure to bring the documents Michael's gave me for the watch I purchased on November 19, 2011 for $375. The appraised replacement value certificate from Michael's states $525. Attached are copies of these documents. The watch has never been exposed to any elements, still works perfectly, and is in the same condition as the day I purchased it. I was only looking to sell it because: (a) I received the invitation from Michael's, (b) I wasn't wearing it very often because the watch face is a little small for me now that I need reading glasses, and (c) I totally trusted that Michael's would offer a fair (although not good) price for it. I understand they need to make a profit. The Michael's gentleman who looked at the watch and documents today started out by saying "the problem with these watches is ..." and proceeded to tell me how it would cost Michael's at least $200 to have the watch reconditioned for sale. I immediately recognized that he was setting the stage to offer me next to nothing for the same watch that Michael's sold to me as a valuable and timeless treasure. He offered $75 for the watch, or the value of the 18K gold in the watch (which he said would be less than $75). When I mentioned that I was thinking of buying a new watch at Michael's, he said that he might be able to give me more for my watch depending upon which watch I would be buying today. He started to get up out of his chair so I could show him which watch I was looking to buy. You can probably guess what happened next. I left the store with my watch and documents, and have no plans to shop at Michael's ever again.
