I've been with Tom for 6 years now. He is currently my only tailor. After about a year of going with him, I had already thought then that he'd be the only tailor who'd touch my clothes, and that's still very much the case. Actually, with a couple exceptions, I've went to two other tailors for some work as well. The tailors in Syracuse all do great work, but for some reason, Tom specifically possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience, specifically in the custom clothing side of things. I have come to appreciate that this work as a tailor is not in altering clothes, but also with a profound understanding and taste on fabric types and styles. For any of you fellow redditors, you'll know what I mean when I say I used to be all-in on the "MFA" look. By that, I mean desert boots, chinos, dark wash jeans, oxford button-down shirts, etc. I wanted all my clothes darted in the back, pant & shirt sleeves taken in and tapered. He was able to do that within a turnaround time of just 1-3 days, depending on his load. I remember one time I had to get something done later that day, and he did that. Let me give you context that I have NEVER heard of same-day tailoring service in my life. Have you? Fast forward to this year when I've begun dabbling in streetwear (vintage/oversized + techwear) and he has accommodated for the types of clothing I've brought. All requests I've made, he will take into consideration and even give you his honest opinion based on your style goals if the service you're requesting is even worth it or not. If it's not appropriate, contraindicated, or risky, he will literally tell you that it's better to turn down this request than to have you regretting it. I've done it once where I purposely went against his opinion -- I wanted an aggressive taper on my jeans, and I ended up not being able to get my feet through the leg opening. I felt like an idiot, but it also validated that Tom is the man for the job. Last and but not least, I wanted to re-touch on the custom clothing topic again. His service is absolutely insane when it comes to designing and creating made-to-order clothes. I've already had two of my friends get their grail shirts and pants through him based on their measurements. More and more men & women are realizing rather than going into a store and buying ready-to-wear stuff, that they'll end up compromising. You'll end up having to take it to a tailor anyway, and even then, the fabric may not last 5 dry cleaning trips. For literally the same price you can have a buy-it-for-life item and end up with the fabric, pattern, color, and hardware/details that you want on your blazer/jacket/pants. I can be a tough critic sometimes but literally Tom isn't just impressive with Syracuse standards -- he's tremendously talented from a universal standard. Oh and did I say he also does my wife's clothes; formal & athleisure? Oh yeah and he's the exclusive tailor for lululemon too lol. read more

Tom gets the job done just as I requested, even met a tight deadline. My regular tailor is out of town so I found this place. It is more than twice the price of my regular tailor but I had no choice. For the price I do expect perfect service, and I got that. Nothing to complain about but you can probably find a cheaper place if you are on a budget. read more

I decided to get my first custom suit this year and found Tom located in Syacuse . He was incredibly helpful and informative teaching me about the various fabrics and styles . Although I was a bit takin back by the prices being high I went for it . Four weeks later the suit was ready and I took it home . Having worn the suit now four times I am so happy I went to Tom ! The difference in the look and feel of my new suit makes it hard to pull another one of my high end off the rack suits out of the closet . Since arriving in Syracuse, New York, some thirteen years ago, I have pursued a search for THE one Tailor I could call my own [much like the search for the perfect automobile repair shop, but that's, of course, for another Yelp review]. I am, at long last, thrilled to report that Tom Huyck, as Executive Clothing Service, is that Tailor! For the past several months I have brought Tom all of those various alteration projects in my closet that I had been meaning to get around to if I could only find the perfect tailor, as well as garments that no longer fit after having lost some thirty pounds. I am now wearing perfect fitting garments that I had previously given up on or that simply no longer fit. Tom is quintessentially professional and a craftsman in the truest sense. He is, as well, an upstanding businessman who will advise you against an ill-sighted project as delicately as he will enthusiastically accept everything he knows can successfully complete to the customer's complete satisfaction. Quality of workmanship and value for such impeccable service means that off-the-rack clothing will be transformed by Tom into custom fitting garments that will appear to others as clothing worth many times the actual purchase price. I was unpleasantly surprised by the extremely high prices at this place when I dropped off a dress for dry cleaning. Plus, when I got the dress back, I noticed that there was still a stain on it. He does not have enough room to do the dry cleaning on site, so I am pretty sure he sends it out. I would avoid the high prices and go elsewhere if you can. read more

After having custom clothing made in Manhattan the last 3 years I was thrilled to find that Tom will custom make women's suits. Prices are reasonable and quality is what I am used to with custom clothing. Customer service is excellent! I get the clothing in half the time that I did in Manhattan. I also have had Tom do alterations on a few custom pieces and they have been excellent as well. He listens to the customer and does a few alterations until you are completely satisfied. I would highly recommend custom clothing and alterations done by Tom to anyone! He has been able to customize what I wanted when previous tailors could not. You explain what you want and he asks questions and is willing to work with you until it is exactly what you wanted and pictured. As a woman, I felt very comfortable with the process - I did not feel at all uncomfortable while he was marking and adjusting my clothing for fit. Executive Clothing was recommended to me by several work colleagues. I brought Tom 5 shirts to have taken in, I can't stand when shirts are baggy in the back.
