This is a small Macy's store yet they have lots of formal dresses, gowns and professional wear. They only get three stars because they have a limited selection of perfumes. I came in looking for a formal outfit for a wedding. Was hoping for a colorful, sparkly, pantsuit. And discovered KAREN in the dress section and she took me to the Plus Size selections, found my size, and moved 2 outfits to the fitting room. I tried on both and she gave me an honest opinion (which I agreed with). Consequently, I left after only spending about 35-40 minutes, with an outfit I love and it was on SALE!!!! The products are good but some of the associates are horrible. They lack customer service skills and they are incredibly rude especially in the return department of Macy's on the first floor . Those associates are absolutely horrible they have no decorum. I am a good customer who does a lot of shopping but I will no longer do it as I was and will do it sparingly. read more

Wide variety of merchandise, but it is pretty expensive. Many times when I walk through there is nobody at most of the makeup counters. There are not many dressing rooms, so they are always crowded. The price Shack kiosks are a plus though. read more

I love their shoe section! They have the coolest/trendiest shoes and a great sale section with shoes under $30! Their makeup section is also nice and they are always having promotional offers where you get free stuff if you spend a certain amount. Their prom dress section also looked cute (not that I need to be in that section). I heard a rumor that Macy's department stores were going to permanently close due to loss of business sales nation-wide. I am happy to see that the one at Destiny Mall is still here! I like that they have scanning machines so you can scan the item and figure out the price (much like at Target) rather than flag down an associate. I did notice that there weren't workers stationed at the makeup stands. I think you'd have to walk around and find someone to help you for that. read more

This was a great store five or six years ago. Now it has lower priced merchandise. No more Ralph Lauren, Northface, or other high designers. The upstairs is a bargain basement with merchandise that is out of date with some of it appearing to be used. The shoe department is worth the trip! Honestly, I'm torn, I use to love the competition , then I discovered Macys and loved the quality and price of the products! I have shopped only online for two years now an have never had a problem UNTIL now. Over a month ago I ordered a bunch of presents for Christmas, and they still have not arrived and according to the tracking they never left the warehouse, Macy's did cancel the order for me but it's now 4 days til Christmas! And they never left the warehouse!!! Went to this location to help my dad find some formal Wear for a wedding. Vickie, one of the associates in the Men's department, was extremely helpful and patient in helping us select the correct size and style for him. Why is this place so messy? I normally don't complain about a place too much but I was really dissatisfied and disappointed with this location. I'm overall not much of a Macys fan because there's honestly not much to get here other than shoes & perfume by Lancome (oh Miracle!) However, I feel like their jewelry is always really overpriced, and they just put ridiculous "sales" on everything to make it seem like everything's cheaper when it's actually not. This particular location was kind of frustration because it's really understaffed. The staff takes their sweet time to stroll over to help you with anything, and their customer service is mediocre at best. Won't be coming here again. read more

So I'm not a regular Macys shopper but in coming to this one it was a bit larger and nicer than some of the one's I've been to in the DC area. There's a variety of items hence the department store aspect. The store was clean and pretty well organized. Although some of the other older reviews seem to be based on the prior mall that this store was located in, I have to say with Destiny taking over I'm not sure if the store expanded since I don't live in that area and was only visiting, it certainly seemed pretty nice and was similar to some of the Macy's locations in the DC metro area. read more

This is not the best example of a Macy's store. Never anyone around to help or even cash you out! It never seems to be clean dont even get me started on the dressingrooms. I was in there once it was so cold in the dressing rooms I didnt want to remove my coat let alone my clothing to try something on. And let's talk about coupons...you can use it for this but not for that just provide a coupon that will work on anything, anytime it's not like we dont know you are gouging us.... And then there is the limited selection of nearly everything in their flyer....nope not the best shopping experience. read more

Well, been to this particular Macy's store about 6 times! Employees are not friendly. They act like you're bothering them. Ive had two returns to make there and each time those whom waited on me acted quite disgusted that I had a return. The cosmetics area isnt much better. If you're going to buy something good luck finding staff to help you! This happens alot at the Este Lauder counter. Shopping for a proper bra is also a nightmere! I've Never seen my size there yet! As well, the prices are steep for what they don't have (i.e.) my size, so go up or down to compensate but still pay a big price! Yup! Not happy...and they almost always do not stock or have anything I've seen online! Sad because I'd rather try it on b4 I buy it! Oh well, that's Syracuse for you! I was there today and got stuck for ten minutes in the kitchen clearance section. I have to use a mobility scooter to get around and the displays were so close together, I couldn't get around them. There no sales associates around, except for various employees who would wander up to the register, ring a customer up, then walk away immediately. I finally had to move two displays that were on wheels to get around them. I started to move the third display, which wasn't on wheels and very heavy, and finally the woman at the register looked up at me. I think it's only because the display was noisy. I put the items back that I was going to buy and left the store. I won't be going there any time soon. read more

Normally, I love to buy stuffs from Macy's.. But this is horrible experience. I went to Macy's to buy two watches and did found I like. When I find first watch I like, I ask what price I can get one white saleswoman offer me 10% discount. I don't usually care a little different price a mount. I buy it if I like it. Then I went to find another one as I planned to buy two. Later I came back with other watch to pay for two watches one black saleswoman about 40 years old she calculate all the prices differently from the previous lady says, so I ask her "why?" she said "what are you talking about?" and the way she look at me like OMG! My daughter purchased a pair of shoes for her wedding from another well known Destiny department store, although her size wasn't in stock. The associate ordered the correct size and had them shipped to our house. We didn't check the shoes until the day before the wedding - our mistake, wrong size, too small. I called that department store. The shoe size she needed still wasn't in stock and there was no way they could get another pair to her in time for the wedding, now less than 24 hours away. The nice sales person told me, "There is nothing we can do at this point.". My daughter was in tears. Enter Macy's. She called and was put through to the shoe department manager, who somehow understood what was going on despite the tears. Macy's had the right shoe in the right size in stock. "We can help you, we'll have the shoes waiting for you." I drove to Macy's and must have looked frazzled enough that the shoe salespeople identified me as Z's mother. I was promptly given a box of Kleenex, "no bride should have to cry before her wedding, " two pairs of the correct shoes ( one the correct size, the other a half size larger "just in case,") and $50 in Macy's Money for the new couple. AND THE SHOE FIASCO WASN'T EVEN MACY'S FAULT. Unbelievable. Who provides this level of customer service anymore? Obviously, Macy's. Many, many thanks to Brenda, Katherine and Blair. Women's clothing was beyond disorganized. Too many items crammed onto racks it made it almost impossible to look through them. Racks weren't organized by size. On same rack they had anything from x-small to 3x all mixed in together. Made it impossible to just look for your size without going on a scavenger hunt. Looked like a truck had backed in and just dumped clothing off. Thrift stores are better organized. I expected more from a Macy's. I left and went to Lord and Taylor for a more pleasurable shopping experience. Macy's is definitely slipping from what it was. read more

I have been in many Macy's stores in my lifetime and this was the first time I was actually afraid to change in the dressing room. It was so nasty smelling and dirty looking that I was afraid I would catch bugs or something.The dressing room I am referring to is the one behind the Levi's counter at Destiny USA. There was so much dust around the edges of the carpet in the changing room and nasty stuff wiped all over the walls. I actually took photos to send to Macys' home office. In my opinion this reflects on the store manager as well as the department manager. Something should be done there. read more

My 20 year old daughter was taking escalator up and it suddenly stopped . Her foot went forward and took off part of bottom of big toe. They were so mean and rude to her she was bleeding all over and only the cosmetic lady would help. The manager kept telling her she was fine and she should just go.. She called me on tears. Manager never said sorry or tried to help nothing . She went to emergency room try had to give her a special boot to where because bleeding wouldn't stop long story short three days latter and finally heard from Natalie from corporate that it msybtKe several weeks to review to v if they will even pay medical bill. Are u kidding me!!! Not a single employer ever said sorry if asked if she was ok. Your customer service sucks!!!!! This was at shopping town mall ny on Friday night ... Never shop there again. My Macy's card was declined. I was told over the phone that I had to open a new account. No reason given. Opened new account and was given only a $300 line of credit instead of previous $500 limit. This took 15 minutes. Tried to ring up my purchases and was declined again. Spoke on phone with rep for another 10 minutes until things were rectified. Wasn't allowed to use any of the 4 coupons I was mailed. No reason given. Received a $40 promotion card. When I returned an item I was told the $40 promotion card was invalid and I could not make a purchase with it. Found out that the promotion was reduced from $40 to $$30. Today I received a letter stating my new credit card was denied because I already had an account. The letter also stated I was denied a Macy's American Express credit card which I never applied for. I have now been on the phone for the last hour trying to rectify the unwarranted inquiries on my credit report and the application of my coupons to my purchases. read more
