Maybe she was new, I'm not sure? I have read other reviews saying they aren't a size inclusive salon, which I don't think I could agree with. I'm hoping that is maybe just a story of the past. I was super impressed to see how many "extended sizing" sample dresses they had. As a normal dress size 14, I'm considered a "plus size bride" which can be very stressful for some. Thankfully almost every dress I tried on were in those extended sizes, which helped me to feel much more comfortable through the process. So thank you NY Bride & Co for that!! The salon is clean & the workers do seem happy to be there. I just have now heard from multiple friends that they all had similar experiences as mine - upset that their guests weren't able to be involved in dress selections (they're the people that know us best) & frustrated that the stylists don't listen to the brides wants and sort of just make dress selections based on what they think will look best on the bride to be.

Found the dress of my sisters dreams at a great price... BUT.... Service was severely lacking…read more There are no seats for your friends or family to sit in - we were asked to sit on a shelf. The try on experience was not fun.. we had a scheduled appt and felt SO rushed the entire time, the try on rooms are one right on top of the other- nothing private or calm about it. You're crammed in next to everyone else's wedding party and it was just chaos. The stylist was very blunt and kept saying things like "you won't like this one" "this isn't the one" "I don't know why you'd pick this ugly one" "people ALWAYS choose the first dress they try on" which we didn't do, it was actually the third.. but the constant comments took away from the special time. Even the stylist next to us was rushing her bride saying "you won't get through all these dresses, you're only allowed five" We left and my sister got in the car and felt like wow that didn't go how I dreamt it would. What a shame. If you're looking for a budget friendly place- it's okay.. just know what you're going to get going in.. because it certainly isn't a great special experience. Really disappointed.

When I walked in the door, I was ANXIOUS. I didn't bring my bridal party. I brought the two people who spend the most time with me - my 24yo daughter and my 5yo son. There was a Black-American employee that when I walked in, looked at my son and said loud enough for me to hear, "Oh, here we go" as she rolled her eyes. No one really greeted us at all. The girl that worked with me was sweet. It was her first day and she was very kind and caring. She told us to browse, but it's not like we knew where to look, what sizes, or designs. I've never done this before! My 5yo was the one that took the lead and pointed out dresses he thought were pretty. Ultimately, she only showed me 3 of the 12 dresses I had picked out and only 1 was within the budget I identified. All the ones that were in my cart were also within my budget that I could purchase same day. Although she was really sweet, did her high pressured sales tactics, I had made a clear statement that I wasn't buying anything for 24 hours after the appointment and I was sticking to it. The dress I was stuck on was the one the 5yo picked out. Kid has taste! Upon leaving, we had a nice chat with the rest of the ladies (except the Black employee who cut her eyes again and left), where I learned that they no longer get a commission. If you want to tip, take cash! Ultimately, I bought my dress elsewhere mainly because I was really clear on my budget and what I wanted to see and it really wasn't followed and as well as how my child was regarded. He was well-mannered, polite, and sat quietly until asked to help pick a dress. It left a really bad taste in my mouth.

I walked in and told Nancy my dilemma. She was quick to start pulling dresses for me to try on. Nancy was very attentive and accommodating. She listened when I told her what type of dress I wanted. I was thankful to be able to find a beautiful dress right off of the rack. For being a floor sample, all of the beading was intact and did not need to be dry cleaned. Lucky for me it did not need alterations, although I needed it bustled. Nancy was able to have my dress ready the morning of my wedding. She did a wonderful job. I found a dress that I felt beautiful in. And the bustle she did looked so elegant. Nancy is a life saver!! If I ever need anything when I'm the area, I would use her.
