I had been looking for a Honda Odyssey for my growing family, and had difficulties narrowing down the Elite package that I wanted. EAW had an Elite odyssey, and was asking above KBB value. We drove three hours to pick it up, did our due diligence by looking at CarFax etc. only to find out later the vehicle had been wrecked. I purchased a mini van to have the sliding doors, and they fail to work. In addition, the entire vehicle accessories were removed (no owners manual, no remote or headphones for the kids). Fortunately I noticed this and they ordered us some, but I found out later the vacuum attachments were also among what was stolen out of the car. I asked them to help me with finding replacements, and they said they wouldn't assist us any further. I'm driving in an overpriced, wrecked vehicle with an elite package where it's unusable due to the needed pieces were stolen. Do not buy from these people!!! read more

We dealt with Ed and he is the great person to buy a car with. He does not push you into buying something just for a commission. After about 6 months with the car, we had major problems with my windshield freezing from the inside and the carpets being wet. I tried calling the place back to speak with Ed and he no longer works there. The car smelt so bad of mold. When we brought it to a mechanic, they said they believed the car was in an accident but it was not on the car fax. The hoses on the passenger side did not exit the car so all moisture was let out onto the rugs in the front, on the drivers and passenger sides. We've had more problems. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone that was looking to buy a car. read more

If you are thinking of buying a classic or high end sports car from these guys run the other way. I purchased a 1966 AMC Marlin from them that was advertised on several collector car websites. I called the sales agent, Kory, and asked him about the car. His response was "it's one of the finest cars we've ever seen for this age!" He said it ran like a top. I purchased the car and paid to have it delivered to me in Michigan. I took possession right off the truck and parked it in my garage. The next morning there were multiple leaks discovered under the car. I had my mechanic pick it up because I didn't want to risk driving it. He discovered a totally worn gearbox, leaking oil, leaking gas and leaking front power steering. He also found that someone had tried to fix an overheating issue with a lot of bandaids none of which solved the problem. $4000 later we have the car road worthy! All the owner does is respond with lies! It's an absolute lie for him or anyone to say that they didn't see the leaks and if they drove it they would see that there was no power and it overheated! It only took four minutes to overheat. I get it they run a shoddy business and have no intention of ever making it right. So I will share this story on every platform that they use to advertise their corrupt business. read more

He listens,locates and solves problems. He made it effortless. When i got my first car from them years ago, I gave my son ,my old car. When the engine went on it, (not Exclusive Auto's Car,but the one i gave to my son) I went right over to Exclusive on Sunday. My boyfriend and I were interested in a truck so we went there to take a look at it on 9/3 .This is how our situation went.. Saw the truck, Minor things wrong with it and they told us most of the issues could probably be Fixed. Great. We put a hold on the truck on my CC for $300 and I was ok with that. 9/5 Juan, the salesman, called my Boyfriend and told him he would be 'happy' about the deal they worked our for him and they 'pulled' some strings for him do to his credit. However, every time my boyfriend asked about the price of the car or interest rate, Juan kept repeating "don't worry you'll be happy with it"... Clearly, just doing this so that we would have to come down there because obviously if we didn't like the price we wouldn't have bothered. That night we went to pick up the truck and noticed a huge scratch on the front bumper that was not there before. We waited to see the finance Man... And the stuff that came Out of this guys mouth was just unbelievable. He said he spoke to his ' neighbor' who pushed the credit application through but the bank said "we need to buy an extended warranty for $3000. It was just a bunch of bull coming out of this mans mouth and every-time we asked to see how he came up with numbers he showed us nothing. In the end we left and this is all just part of this ridiculous conversation we had. 9/6 I call to get the hold taken off my CC... The lady on the phone informed me that she would have to send out a check and wouldn't be mailed out until the following Friday. I said "That's not what I was told" and her response was "I don't know what you were told but we do that for paper work purposes." I called Juan to ask why he didn't tell me this in the first place and he said I'll call you back- called me Back and said "the boss is willing to give you a deal on the truck..." REALLY!!??? This is after I told him we weren't taking the truck. Ridiculous. These people are 100% completely unprofessional. I know that dealerships do what they have to do to make some money but this isn't the dealership you want to Go To. Worst experience ever. Btw, as I'm writing this the owner, Bill, called my boyfriend and because my boyfriend no longer wants the truck and asked for the refund back to CC the owner said OK and HUNG UP. Just your typical used car criminals. Do not do business with. Bought a truck from them. The salesman obviously doesn't know the first thing about trucks, because after the test drive, I said I was concerned about the condition of the brakes and the rotors, and he told me the rotors were "wavy" and that they were fine, but the truck would be inspected before I picked it up, anyways. Long story short, the truck had been "inspected", AKA no inspection but a sticker was slapped on anyways, and I was sent on my way with a 1-ton truck with only one front caliper working, because the brake line had been clamped shut (which somehow passed "inspection"). After seeing the condition of the vehicle, the DMV felt the condition of the brakes were so bad, that the truck should not have been sold, or even on the road at all. I received phone call from the owner Bill, asking me to drop the case with the DMV (which was the only phone call from him, in which he didn't hang up on me). I'll spend twice as much on a vehicle and buy it from a dealership, to not have to deal with people like this again. read more

My experience was similar to a few of the others I have read where I was sold a vehicle with safety issues. Basically the buyer should strongly beware and have any potential purchase checked out by a qualified mechanic prior to purchasing. The importance of doing this cannot be overstated! Also it helps to be very well informed about the New York State Used Car Lemon Laws. In the end, I have a truck I am happy with, but it was a long process and it ended up costing me more than it should have. I live two states away and decided I wanted a particular pickup truck via their web site. I called and inquired about the it and basically spent most of the day back and forth negotiating the purchase. I let them know that I would come and get the truck that very day and was led to believe that it was ready to go. Apparently this is not the normal sales process for them and they are used to someone coming and buying the truck one day and then returning on a later date to actually drive away with it. They are also used to arranging the financing via their sources and are not receptive to buyers who bring their own financing. I was able to bring my own financing that was a bit better on terms. Thanks to my sale, they are a little more familiar with out of state sales...but your mileage may vary with that, too. It took a few hours, but I managed to drive away with the truck that night. They were nice enough to fill it with fuel before I left. This is the _only_ positive maintenance done to the truck while in their possession. They had no service records from the previous owner (no surprise) and none for any work they had done (at least that they were willing to share - sort of concerning, but whatever). I found out the next day at home that I had driven across two states without a working center high mount brake light (the 3rd brake light at the top of a camper shell on a pickup truck). This would be an automatic safety failure on both New York and Massachusetts state inspections and should have been glaringly obvious had anyone qualified looked over the truck. It wasn't a simple problem of a burned out bulb either; the wires to the light had been completely cut out. I didn't learn the bulbs were burned out until after I had replaced the wiring. I was working around the above problem myself by purchasing the new light and re-wiring it in, hopeful that this might be the only problem with the truck. Within the first 700 miles and 10 days the truck broke down and would not start. I had it brought to the closest dealership and assessed. It had a blown fuel injector, bad front ball joints, a bad parking brake, bad center drive shaft bearing. I discussed this with Exclusive and pointed out the items that are required to be covered under the New York State Used Car Lemon Laws Warranty and, to their credit, they paid for the relevant items _except_ for the parking brake. I paid the non-warranty items that were recommended myself (such as replacing the other 3 fuel injectors on the same side at the same time and the drive shaft bearing). The dealership indicated that it was "working" but had potential to fail very soon. I took the truck to be inspected and it failed spectacularly. The parking brake cable snapped during the inspection and the parking brake ceased working entirely. It was also revealed that the rear center seat belt was missing. The truck received a failed safety inspection and was no longer legal to drive. I managed to get the truck home and had to spend several days back and forth with Exclusive about what to do. I got estimates from three shops but each of them stipulated they had not been able to see the truck and could not be accurate without having it in to be inspected first hand. The lowest estimate was around $160 less than the work done, however, Exclusive was only willing the pay the lowest estimate rather than the actual repair amount, basically shorting me on the repair. This wouldn't have bothered me as much had I been unreasonable and required things like a brand new seat belt for the replacement. Instead I opted for a salvage yard part for $70 instead of the new part at $250. My reasoning being that if they had the opportunity to fix this before selling to me, it might have been what they would have done and I would not have noticed. I count myself luckier than the others that have had these unfortunate experiences, so I am going with 2 stars. I was beyond fair with them. At least they paid for most of the repairs after the fact, even if they did short change me. My main problem is the amount of time it took me to get these items resolved and that these problems could have been mostly eliminated had they done the maintenance they should have prior to putting the truck out for sale. If they are representing vehicles for sale, they should be completely ready to drive away and pass a state safety inspection immediately. read more

I bought my 2009 GMC Acadia SLT from Exclusive Auto Sales. We never should have walked through these doors, and we should have left at the first sign of trouble. I looked at Exclusive's website before we even visited the shop. I was interested in the GMC when I saw it online and called to ask if it was available. A salesman named Frank told me it had been sold. We decided to come in and look at a Chevy Traverse instead. Everything was going well and we fell in love with the Traverse. For some reason, we couldn't get a deal from the banks. Whatever. NBD. So we decide to look at some other cars. The manager - whose name is escaping me at the moment - showed us a few other cars within our price range. One was a terrifying Chevy that almost ran through a red light, the brakes were so bad. And the other turned out be the Acadia that I was told had been sold. The Acadia was everything we wanted it to be, minus the terrible purple eggplant color. We decided to go through with the buying of it and signed the paperwork. At some point during the negotiations, we got into a huge argument with Frank - who was trying to tell me how MY credit would work when he didn't know enough about it at all. He was trying to tell me that the car would bring my husband's and my score up a hundred points in a few months, which I knew to be untrue, having the knowledge of what was on my husband's and my credit. When I told him he didn't know enough to be making these kinds of promises, he got nasty with me and we ended up storming out. We ended up going back after being promised we could work solely with the manager. When we purchased the car, we were told by the manager, and got signed paperwork, saying that he would fix the air-conditioner, because it didn't work and he'd get the Stabilitrack fixed. The car's rear end felt like it was a wagging tail while you were driving, and he blamed that on the Stabilitrack. We take it to the repair shop he chose and the air-conditioner gets fixed. They had to replace the whole Stabilitrack computer, because it was MISSING. I don't know if this company is so shady as to have done that, but I also wouldn't put it past them. (You'll know why in a moment). The car was still wagging its tail when we drove it. Now I'd like to point out that NY has a "lemon law" and with the Acadia, it basically meant that we had 30 days from the day of purchase to return it if certain things were wrong with it (like issues with the suspension, engine, etc.). Well, it turns out that one of the coil springs in the rear of my car was BROKEN and we just missed the 30-day cutoff to return the car for a full refund at the dealership. With a broken coil spring, it was illegal to drive the car and it NEVER should have passed inspection. I will NEVER buy another car from this dealer and I recommend that no one else does, as well. read more

As much as the sales representative who helped me and went out of his way to find the car that I wanted and was nothing but a gentleman, the finance specialist and owner absolutely screwed me over on a deal. I had confirmed pick up and purchase of a vehicle for a Tuesday after being in negotiations with them for a week from looking at the car, discussing work that needed to be done on it, Finance negotiations, Etc. I told them on a Sunday morning that I would purchase and pick up the car on Tuesday. Instead, they sold the car on that Monday to someone else. That is an absolute shady business practice that the owner and finance specialist should be ashamed of and that is what ruins the reputation of their business and brand. As much as I wish I could support my friend who did everything right, and I have zero qualms with in regards to this abrupt cancellation of the deal, because I know he has no part in its cancellation or its financing decisions, I cannot support a business publicly that operates with such low standards of business ethics. read more

This review may come as a shock to some people. I bought my 2008 Suzuki SX4 with 109k miles from them on 9/1. After looking at several car places this was meant to be. I was able to test drive it and took it to my mechanic who said everything was sound on it. A older woman had the car before me so she babied it. Serviced it when it needed to be serviced. I have now had the car for 25 days and knock on wood not even an issue. It is great on gas mileage and exactly as sold. Juan is a good salesman. He needs to work on communication a little bit(fumbles words and can cause confusion) but my mom who is a good judge of character said he was a good guy. I believe her. I even got gas filled up on their dime. Attack me if you want but don't knock my good experience. Maybe I got lucky. Who knows. read more

Bought a truck from exclusives and then took it to my mechanic to have it checked. Turns out it had a small oil leak. Called exclusive to tell them and our salesman said no problem and made us an appt at alines in patchogue to have them check it out. They kept my car for 4 days to tell me that they put dye under the hood and they need me to drive it a little longer so they can see when the leak is. I call exclusive to tell them and the "manager" says we don't cover oil leaks! REALLY ? Then why was I made an appt and told then to drop it off at your mechanic to have fixed and why did I not have a car for 4 days???!!!! The manager said bring the car back to alines in a few days after driving it and I'll work something out with you. So I do that. I take the car BACK to alines and the guy was able to find the leak. So I call back exclusive to tell the manager that the leak was found and I get Liz who says she's the manager but just a few days before I spoke to a man who said HEwas the manager. Well I explained to Liz the situation and she said she will look into and call me back THAT SAME DAY. It's weeks later and still no call back! No call back from our salesman nor the manager we originally spoke with nor Liz! They basically gave me the run around and I lost 2 days of work. Terrible terrible customer service and a bunch of people that claim to be managers that have no idea what is going on! So unprofessional so clueless! Go elsewhere to buy. read more

While a few weeks ago I wrote a really nice review for this dealership my mind has been changed. My dad took me to buy a new car and trade in my old one, I found a really nice Chevy Equinox and instantly fell in love. It had minor problems that should not have taken for than 2 days to fix. I was there from the time they opened to the time they closed on one day and nothing on the car had even been looked at. They told me all they needed to do was change the fluids and the brakes, both of which are QUICK jobs. I finally got my car and realized they hadn't completed either, I live well over 2 hours away they knew I couldnt return right away. Oh and they were supposed to get a seatbelt sensor for my passenger side, NEVER HAPPENED! THE CAR WAS SOLD UNSAFE and Ill be sure to report to the Better Business Bureau as well as the DMV. That's just the least of the problems. the Office Manager Liz, has a very disgusting attitude. when you ask questions and try to be clear, she starts talking over you. If it weren't for my phone being between us, it probably wouldn't have ended very pretty. DO NOT SHOP THERE! THEY WILL SEEM ALL NICE AND THEN WHEN REAL ISSUES ARISE THEY ARE VERY DISMISSIVE! I called the dealership from Connecticut and spoke to Juan and Luis regarding a 16-year old Jeep Wrangler Sahara with about 35,000 miles on it. Luis agreed to pick me up at Port Jefferson when I arrived on the ferry. He was very professional and we spoke about the Jeep in some detail. We stopped at a McDonald's for coffee and an egg muffin and he offered to pay for it since I made the long trip. He also offered to pay for a pizza lunch if I closed the sale that same day. I took the Jeep for a test drive and then carefully examined the body and the inside. Except for minor wear and tear, the Jeep was in "above average condition." We made a deal, had the pizza lunch and Luis even offered to escort me back to the ferry with my newly purchased Jeep. The timing was great because they were loading up everyone. I promised both Juan and Luis, that after driving it around for a couple of months I would come back for a rating report. It was surprisingly a very pleasurable and quick sale. I was very happy with the quick service and Juan was quite a character and kept me smiling during our negotiations on final price. I was looking over all the other poor ratings that were given to this dealership and I was very surprised because I had not experienced anything like the others reported. I don't generally write reviews for auto sales places but I felt the need because I am very dissatisfied with them. This auto sales place is very unprofessional. I initially called to look at an Equinox that had been in the lot for so long that the battery died and the car had to be jumpstarted which was no problem but I don't understand why they could not do that before we got there since we called about the car in advance. After looking at the car that was clearly not well maintained and feeling very unsettled about a rattling that was occurring while we drove the car, we noticed another car in the lot as well. Although it was older, it ran a lot smoother so I chose this car instead. As far as employees go, Dominic was very helpful. Even though he was new, he was friendly, understanding, and very accommodating for us during the entire process. However; when we came back to pick up the car, I found his manager to be very arrogant, stereotypical auto sales personality, insulting, unprepared to gives us the car, as well as rude to his employee in front of us who was very helpful to us. We took the car to our auto guy and he said that there were several issues with the car that should have made it not pass inspection. I don't know about anybody else but I would have wanted to know that the power steering was awful and that the exhaust was leaking into the car which could have potentially caused me to wind up in an accident. So after spending well over my budget for a car that was already 12 years old, I had to spend an additional 1,000 just to get the car fixed like it should have been when they first were selling the car. I wouldn't recommend this auto sales place to anyone. I have personally experienced well together, professional, smooth running auto sales companies in the past and I just did not feel like this was up to that standard at all. Purchased a truck from exclusive auto sale in Feb. * Worst mistake in my entire life* was told to post date a check for the following week and it wasn't going to be cashed..meanwhile it was cashed the next day. Called and asked them why it was cashed because i was told it was not going to be cashed until Friday. I was told that the office manager accidentally cashed it in. ok i get it accidents happen, i let it slide. Was sold on the warranty... " you should really get it, covers bumper to bumper" fine we purchased it. The warranty is added onto out bill of sale. Ask them about the registration because i needed to know if we needed commercial plates or passenger plates, was told by the dealer oh passenger plates is whats going on it. after not having my registration sent in the mail after FOUR WEEKS i called the dealership and was told DMV must be slow. So i contacted DMV. DMV had NO PAPERWORK ON MY TRUCK! extremely confused i called the dealer back and was told no no we sent it. Come to find out it "accidentally" wasn't sent up. finally after two and a half months the registration came in the mail. fast forward to TODAY October 10th 2015. The truck breaks down on the side of the road due to a fuel injector, IT IS A 2005 F250 DIESEL WITH 50,000 MILES ON IT! ( NOT AN OLD CAR) i call the warranty company that i was given all the papers to and they tell me im not in their system. The VIN number nor my name in in the system and that i should call back the dealership where i purchased the vehicle. I call, and the "manager" Juan never returned my call, and the person the answered the phone "Mitch" said oh ill make sure that the manager calls you back immediately. That was over an hour ago, BTW we are still on the side of the road, waiting for road side assistance to pick up the truck but i want to make sure the so called "warranty" i have deals with private mechanics before i have to drop 3K on it. Terrible customer service, they don't give a crap about their customers after they buy the car. If I could give them -5 stars I would. $2245 in engine repairs that I was told NEVER WOULD HAVE PASSED inspection LEGALLY so I don't know what Bill the owner did. 4x for the SAME problem in less than 3 weeks of owning the Jeep. And while it was being repaired (head gaskets, blown 5th cylinder, bad thermostat & radiator that Bill said he replaced with a brand new one, & spark plugs ALL were replaced) it happened 2days before Christmas & went into the first week of January! It was a BIG engine repair that I had to rent a car for 10 days totaling $596!!! So $2245 in repairs & $600 for a rental!!! Rudest, nastiest, condescending, arrogant @$$holes that I have EVER met!!!!! I reported them to the DMV, FTC & the state attorney generals office. Next step....small claims court!!
