Let me state first that I was not compensated in any way for this review...it comes from the fact…read morethat few businesses are this customer friendly and efficient! Mark at Car Audio Plus is honest, down to earth, polite, quite electronically knowledgeable and FAST!!! And while he doesn't have a fancy show room like several other dealers I had stopped by or looked into, he got the job done at WAY below what I had come to expect after talking to other dealers. Here's the story, especially for GM truck and SUV owners! I have an older Chevrolet Suburban that had an old flat screen/gps/cd/dvd player radio that suffered from a common malady (see GM Suburban, Tahoe, Silverado blogs) of parasitic battery drain caused by the stereo nav radio, even when the ignition was off. I took it to a local GM dealer to have the parasitic battery drain problem diagnosed ($300) only to discover that it was indeed the radio and it was a common problem. Then I got the kicker! The dealer said those radios were no longer available from GM (which I had assumed, the vehicle was over 10 years old) but that they could get a remanufactured radio and they would install it for an additional $2700!!! Now the total was gonna be $3000! Since Bluetooth was NOT a part of my factory radio (BT came out in the middle of the year in which my car was built), I decided this was NOT an economical idea, nor a practical solution as I still would not have blue tooth! I researched several local dealers, and one in my old neighborhood in south Dayton, and found they were going to sell me a cd/dvd player equipped stereo radio for more than half of the $2700 Chevy was gonna charge. Then I thought, I'll give a local installer A chance. So I contacted Mark at Car Audio Plus in Harrison, Ohio and got an estimate on what I THOUGHT I needed, and he installed it in one day, for far below what others had quoted. Then I discovered, do to my horror, having not realized how things had changed in 12 years, that it wouldn't do what I wanted! I had ASKED for the wrong model radio!!! I called Mark back, told him it didn't do what I thought it would, and without flinching he said, Bring it back, we'll get you the upgrade you need at a slight difference in price, and I had a new, fantastic BT/ car stereo/nav system/ cd/ DVD player installed the very next day...NOW NOW THAT IS REAL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Other businesses need to follow MARK'S example!!! I HIGHLY recommend Mark and Car Audio Plus!!!

Install a previously purchased car amplifier and a previously purchased subwoofer cabinet…read morecontaining 2-12 inch subwoofers. where should I start first of all? I am no car stereo installer but I have done many of my own. It just so happened. I was very very busy with work and I wanted the system installed so I had to find an installer well this was a big mistake. Just to do the install which meant running a line converter actually put in the subs in the trunk and connecting the amp $850. all the work was done in the trunk. They didn't have to run the main power of the wire up or anything so it wasn't difficult so I had a few months started having problems with it so I had the time so I went ahead and got in here and seeing what was going on. The line converter they put in there melted! that could've caused a car fire. The next biggy I seen was 50ft of rca cable that was bunched up and stuffed underneath the service area in the trunk. Both the line converter and the RCA cables could've probably been purchased on Temu for $1.50 they were that cheap. That prompted me to just undo everything they did and redo it and man was it a mess the cheapest stuff you could think of they used and horrible at running wires and hiding this and putting the all the interior panels back together is a horrible job all the way around. they didn't quote me on the job originally they said well you know it depends on how much work it is. I don't think that should've included four hours worth of breaks for two people anyway either way, believe me it wasn't $850 worth of work if I do it for somebody I would probably charge them 150+ wire and line converter which would've been a different line converter of course. That said I wouldn't let them work on somebody's car that I didn't like. Worst experience I ever had in a car stereo store of any caliber. I would be glad to give him a zero but you have to do at least a one. I mean I took $850 and flushed it in the toilet because there was nothing that they put in there that I kept and everything they did I had to redo that said seriously I wouldn't have no work done there if I were you

called ahead of time to schedule appointment, they said come at 10am tomorrow, had my buddy go…read morebecause i had to work, but buddy calls me and said the guy wasnt there he had a doctors appointment that they want him to come back at 1pm, he had to go back home after making the trip there he arrives and they quoted me $60 to uninstall factory amp and install replacement. my buddy calls and says you ordered the wrong replacement amp youll need to order the correct one and come back and they will hook you up. im like why would they install the amp if it wasnt the correct one, he says oh it doesnt sound too bad, but when he picked me up it sounded terrible i had no sound out of multiple speakers and no control over the sub woofer which i previously had, i call and ask why wouldnt they just let me send that amp back and get a replacement now i have to order a replacement and order it quickly because ebay 14 day return policy and then get the new sub install and old one taken out and sent back almost immediately. they say its not their problem and if i want them to do that it will cost me another $60. my thought is if they discovered it wasnt the correct amp when installing did they not mention that charge me half of the $60 and then the other half once i got the correct amp. i just feel like they dropped the ball and they had me making trips to and from because of the lack of communication in regards to the appointment time. im really upset they went ahead and install the amp knowing it wasnt the correct one instead of letting me get it back to return, very frustrating dealing with them and after reaching out to see if they would make it right they say not my problem rubbed me the wrong way
