poorly staffed, lack of experience, old building, out of date equipment, I wonder why nothing has changed here over the years?

They have studied the ER experience from the patients perspective and have managed to create an environment and overall experience that tailors to the patients needs and promotes wellness physically, mentally and emotionally. Every detail is so intentional from the waiting room that looks like a hotel resort guest check-in lobby to the food and drinks they provide if you're hungry. There were Patient Advocates that made rounds about every half hour to see if we needed anything. They passed around dinner plates, dessert, wellness juice shots and even provided me with a Hospitality Health ER blanket to take home. Not to mention upon discharge they provided me with a parting gift! The staff were prompt to take us right away into a room and immediately began to start my workup. There was no wait, which is unheard of for an ER visit. All the staff were so warm, compassionate and accomidating. WOW they really knocked it out of the park and I'm beyond impressed. Having just moved from CA I am seeing that "southern hospitality" really is a thing and the care you recieve here is true to it's name! This is definitely the only ER I would ever visit from now on.

You will not be able to submit any records of your treatment to your insurance company because they will not give you any. They will charge you hundreds and hundreds if not thousands of dollars for a couple of hours of "treatment" and then refuse to give you any record of it. When your insurance company states that your treatment would indeed be covered if a patient submits records, this outfit upon insistence will send you only an "encrypted" message that supposedly contains the records, however you will be unable to open the message DESPITE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS and will thus have no idea what it says. This is clearly an attempt to obscure whatever so-called "treatment" was rendered and is nothing but a cover-their-asses tactic. I have never encountered such disgraceful, appalling, shameful business ethics or a more hateful business operation in my many decades of life. STAY FAR FAR AWAY.

While we did receive excellent care from Dr. Carmack we regret that she is no longer at this practice. I spoke with a dietitian who previously was connected to IHM and she says the whole place is different now than it used to be. This is because they now are accepting insurance and the insurance companies control now. She left IHM as well. This is sad to hear because even though we ended up with a huge debt from the treatment we received here because the insurance would not cover it, it was the most effective. In the end I guess the dollar won out and a highly effective practice was squashed by the controlling insurance company.

The nurses/techs were very nice, and the doctor took me seriously and listened to everything I had to say. Sometimes I have had to wait 15-30 minutes or more because their beds were full, or because they had someone who was sicker than me they needed to see first, or if an ambulance came in, which is totally understandable. This is an emergency room, so whoever is having the most serious situation takes precedence. I would recommend this standalone ER for anyone who is having a medical situation that can't wait to see their family doctor or go to an urgent care (like if you broke a bone or something). But I will say that if you think you are having a stroke or heart problem you would want to try and go to a real hospital, because if you check in here for that sort of thing, they will stabilize you and all, but then immediately call an ambulance to transport you to an actual hospital with a cath lab like Lakepointe. I know because that happened to my friend's mom, and she got taken care of and is fine now, but she did get a bill for the ambulance ride, when if she had just gone to the regular hospital ER instead, she wouldn't have had to be transported. But if it's a life or death situation, then you can definitely go here because, I mean, it is an emergency room after all and they'll make sure you stay alive. Anyway, definitely recommend this standalone ER.

It is bringing up a lot of emotion to even write this because of the way I was treated. I came in, nearly being carried by my husband because I could barely walk. When I got to the room, I was bawling, shuddering with tremors, and could barely get a word out, let alone explain what was going on. Instead of listening to my husband, he decides to force me to speak and gets irritated when I can't get much out. The nurse asks me what typically works for me in situations like these because I also suffer from multiple chronic and painful illnesses, so I answered that it just depends. Sometimes a medication will work for certain pain, sometimes it won't, and I didn't know how else to answer. So they ask about Norco. I said no, because I'm already taking that daily for those chronic illnesses, so it's not likely to be effective. The doctor ignores that, gives me 1 Norco, which was no different from what I had already tried before going in. I told him after 20 minutes that nothing changed and he sent in the nurse, who then told me he would give me something for anxiety and to relax. Bitch, I was NOT having anxiety. I was crying from excessive pain and I hope you experience every single BIT of pain I do every single day. You know exactly who you are, Mr. Football is More Important Than the Patients I am PAID to give a shit about. So, we obviously left 'against medical advice' when he refused to even speak to my husband, and he had to practically carry me out in tears again to go start the process OVER again elsewhere, where I got immaculate care. SO, anyone thinking of going here, save your time and money and drive out to Greenville's ER if you have insurance. Trust and believe these people do not care one iota about you. You should absolutely fire the useless doctor you've got up there. Seems like maybe the little tyke would have preferred to be in the NFL. He should have availability to watch it 24/7 because he's the worst doctor I've ever been to, which is saying a whole hell of a lot with my medical history. I will never come here again and I actively tell everyone I can to avoid it at all costs. I hope you get shut down. You deserve it, especially after reading these other reviews. Genuinely, seek a different career. You suck at this one. Thanks!

I called these folks and they said my cost would be my 25.00 deductible for Blue Cross. I was in and out in just about 1 hour. It was a fast visit with no fuss or driving to Dallas! Unfortunately, the overall experience was very disappointing. From the moment we arrived, Christy at the front desk was rude and unprofessional toward my mother. That kind of attitude is unacceptable, especially when someone is already hurt, worried, and coming in for medical help. Heather, the nurse who took my mother's vitals and asked what brought us in, was kind and professional, and I do want to acknowledge her for that. The visit became even more frustrating when the nurse practitioner came in and told us they did not have an x-ray machine on site. We were also told he would not order an MRI or outpatient imaging for her knee, even though it was Saturday and her primary care physician's office was closed. We were not expecting miracles, but we did expect a more helpful plan, better guidance, or some direction on how to get her properly evaluated. I understand that urgent care facilities have limitations, but patients should still leave feeling like their concerns were taken seriously. Between the poor front-desk experience, the lack of imaging availability, and the lack of helpful next steps, this visit left us feeling dismissed and frustrated. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this location. What made the experience even more frustrating is that we later found another urgent care that was willing to evaluate the injury further and help with imaging options. That tells me we were not asking for anything unreasonable -- we were simply trying to get proper care after a fall.
