He wouldn't listen to me. He prescribed me medicine and hadn't even looked at my X-rays. When I tried to express how the medication he ordered affected me he wouldn't listen at all. He acted like that was the ONLY medicine there was to treat me with. At one point he kept saying, I can't believe you're doing this to me. Which I am still confused about because I thought I was there to take care of myself and try to get some resolution and relief. I was sobbing most of the time. Apparently at one point the Dr was told I was sobbing and all he said to help with the situation was, I'm aware. I ask someone who his boss is and I was told "he is pretty much God around here". My nurse sandy was so sweet and did her best to make sure I felt heard and comfortable, that was shut down. When trying to ask Dr. Kelly questions he told me he wasn't going to be argued with and stormed out of my room for a second time. He also let me know I would be wasting my time to ever come back. I hate to use the word traumatized but that's the only way to describe how I feel. I usually dont say anything but I don't want anyone else ego have such treatment or experience any of this. They have a sign in the lobby that says don't feel bad asking for help, being sick, etc, they need to take that sign down.

We chose exceptional emergency center due to their ratings and reviews. First thing in the door, after reading the mask required sign the receptionist was not wearing a mask. There was no waiting and I was taken back to a room super quick. I had several tests done while I was there to try and determine the issue I was having. I carefully answered questions in order to receive the best possible care. I never saw a doctor. The advertisement on television says every patient sees a doctor. This is false. I called the next day feb 2nd (Wednesday) to ask that my chart be faxed to my primary physician back home. I called back on Friday to ask that my chart be faxed to the specialist I was to see back home. As of Friday afternoon, the office staff at the specialist called to tell me she never received any fax. (I was still recovering in a hotel room in Tyler) I called exceptional emergency center and inquired and the woman told me she had not faxed anything for me, as she did not know how to print a medical record, and she did not know how to use the fax machine. Not sure why she was working in an office if she didn't know basic printing and faxing. My partner drove over retrieved the files directly from the center, and then faxed them at kinkos/fedex across the street for 35 dollars. Also in doing so, we noticed the chart had many mistakes that weren't minor pieces of information. I was hoping to receive some feedback from my physician back home on whether I should seek further medical treatment in Tyler or if I should go ahead and drive the 8 hours back home. I would never recommend this center.

I would honestly rate them 100/10. They were attentive, kind, and made a very difficult situation much easier. While my overall stay had some challenges -- particularly with response times and delays in assistance at certain points -- it seemed like this may have been related to staffing levels rather than the individuals themselves. I also experienced some concerns around discharge timing while I was still dealing with significant pain, weakness, dizziness, and fluctuating blood pressure, though I ultimately stayed longer due to a heart-related issue. One small note: food delivery was often delayed, so ordering ahead may help. Overall, the standout staff I mentioned above truly made a difference in my experience, and I'm very grateful for the care they provided.

The Good: Nearly every nurse I had was personable, knowledgeable, and willing to answer my questions. I'm not great at remembering all the names, but almost the entire staff on the 4th floor of the Houston tower were just phenomenal. Also, when I was admitted, I was on a "cardiac diet" that was from an incident from many years ago, but I was also cleared for outside food (imagine not being able to get a packet of salt from the cafeteria, but I could order Whataburger if I wanted to.) I appreciate that the lady working at Food Services took the time to call around and find out what was up, and get it fixed so that it reflected my actual health needs. Also, the paramedics who transported me were kind, skilled, and calming. The Bad: I had one nurse by the name of Annabelle who did not flush my IV for a full day, leading to it needing to be replaced, and who would not get the charge nurse. During my last IV antibiotic infusion of her shift, I told her it was painful (it shouldn't have been) and she told me the IV was probably just tired, then left for an hour and didn't come back to check on me, just left it going. She also basically manhandled me, rather than allowing me to move my own pajama sleeve out of the way, pulling on my IV and causing additional stress.

No insurance is accepted because insurance companies tell the Dr what the patient can have/qualifies for and that limits the actual addressing of needs of the patient. They work with you, and all costs are very clear! (And the increased time with Dr and quality of care is FAR worth it). I absolutely love the whole-body approach IHM takes to addressing health concerns. They don't just "throw a prescription at it" - they talk, ask questions, get to know you (as much as you want to be known, that is) and really dig deep into potential causes, the source, of the issue, rather that only treating the symptoms. The office is trendy, comfortable and feels like home. (The exam room doors are frosted glass, which doesn't offer exclusive privacy, so that could be improved, but it doesn't take away from the quality of service, and they are sensitive to privacy needs and requests!) I'm free of my chronic issue I was having, and it's such a relief! They also discovered another potential issue and I am now taking preventative steps to ensuring I remain healthy and fit! So glad I decided to give IHM a try, at 2 hours away, it was a gamble. Totally worth it.

Each day I had contact with two nurses and two aids and 1 or 2 Physical Assistants. What I didn't get was clarity or in one case, actual care. There were a couple nurses who CARED for me. There were a few aids who had no interest in assisting me if it involved actually touching me. There were no directives for the day. Just peddling pills and incision care. I got yelled at by an aide for sitting in a chair, when just that very day my doctor had told me to get up and about. The aide said I needed to be on the ice pack . The next day a physical therapy assistant came to assess me and walk with me. He treated me as if it was my first day. And I was so thankful he did. Taught me the correct 'log roll' out of bed. Shows me how to WEAR the ice pack after putting fresh ice packs in it. (There were a few long spells when my ice pack was hot and) if someone had shown me to wear the ice pack I wouldn't have gotten yelled at by the aid. I saw my surgeon's PA a couple times, my surgeon once. I was told I wouldn't get dismissed until a hospitalist saw me. I don't think this is true.. there's a lot of fat that could have been trimmed, including this random doctor's fees. Curious to see what the final bill is. I didn't die while in here, short visits may be better ( I had to stay in three days longer because of an issue) and maybe without the need for continued care that first impression I had -clean, friendly, professional -would be the one that I remembered. I'm happy with my surgeon and would recommend him. This is not an easy surgery from what I understand and he and his team seem to have done ok. And, this hospital, I'd recommend, too, if it's not a long stay.

The nurse that was giving medication in the mornings, during the week, did not give me all the doctor prescribed medication. I asked to see a medical doctor for some issues, that needed to be taken care of before the issues got serious, I was lied to for 4 days, and denied medical care. The floor nurse at the same time frame, lied to me as well. The othet patients their were complaining about the same thing. I have talked to others from 3 months prior, and they were given the same disrespect. The head social worker lied to me more than 3 times. I brought up to him one of the times, and he started yelling at me. I stayed calm the whole time. I checked myself in, and tried to leave. The floor nurse, who I spoke of earlier, said to me that I had to fill out some paperwork, that barely let you put 2 lines, inorder to leave. This was even though I fulfilled the doctor's requirement inorder to leave. This floor nurse told me that the doctor said since I was all in to doing some programs, that was being forsed on me, and changed my mind, that I was a danger to myself or others. This was said even though I expressed more than one concern about the programs. I had made other arrangements, also to see a my medical doctor, and they said I was a danger because I changed my mind. I asked the floor nurse if that was legal. She responded, to the yes or no question that was asked twice, with the phrase, "That's just the way it is." And, she did this with attitude. So, then I asked was it legal or hospital policy. She then replied that it was legal, and gave me more attitude. I was respectful the whole time. They don't even follow their own hospital's policy. The only people their that treated the patients with respect and dignity were the tecks and the people who did group therapy. I've also heard of this sane disrespect, from others, about going to there emergency room, and that was for just medical reasons. If you are thinking of choosing this hospital, I would do what others and myself are doing, and boycott UT Hospital of Tyler.

I have been very sexually active and am greatly disappointed.

Original complaint I went to Dr Clay Williams in Tyler tx…read morebecause I had known him for nearly 15 years or so and I liked him back then, But I hadn't seen him for around 14 years, So I went to him in November of 2024 and told him my problems that I was going on, I was having trouble urinating because my penis was retracting in a little and I was having trouble pulling it out to urinate, and some urine was splashing on my clothes, Also I was having trouble with sex erectile disfunction and pills didn't seem to work, So Dr Williams mentioned putting a penal implant in me and that should do the trick, My wife also ask him if he wouldn't mind checking my prostate while I was there, but he quickly turned around with a angry face and let us know that he was a surgeon now and that I would have to go elsewhere for that, So over the next few days we went through several checks getting ready for surgery, I did see Dr Williams once more before surgery and I asked him if he was OK today and he wheeled around with that same angry fase and wanted to know what the hell I was talking about, I just simply ask him if he was doing OK today because I knew he had been sick lately, So we went to surgery December 2024 and all seemed OK before surgery, After surgery they were getting me checked out, the nurse handed me a urinal to pee in but I passed out when I tried to urinate, but they sent me home regardless, when I got home I got the urinal and started peeing in it or so I thought, I was actually peeing inside of myself nothing was going in the urinal, It was the most awful painful experience I had ever had, so we tried to call Dr Williams office but only got the answering person, she said he doesn't talk to people or his patients and I would have to make an appointment, I told her my situation but she insisted I call back during office hours which was 3 days away, So I called UT emergency room in Tyler and they told me to come in, When I got to the UT emergency room they told me to have a seat, I explained my situation and that I was urinating inside of myself and I needed a cathador so they took me in and the nurse handed me a urinal and wanted me to pee so she could tell what was going on, I pleaded for a cathador to be put in my penis or bladder, but she wouldn't listen, So I had to try to pee for her but the urine went inside myself again to please her and the pain was awful and I was screaming for a long time , So the UT emergency room doctor came in and said he had talked to Dr Williams and that it was not possible for me to urinate inside myself and he laughed and made a weird face, but I pleaded for a cathador and I had to pee really bad again so I urinated inside myself a 3rd time and then later even a 4th time while the doctors and nurses were all standing around me laughing and making fun of me, then one nurse said she had seen enough and got a catheter and tried to put it in my penis but something was blocking it, so she got a smaller child's catheter and after several tries managed to get it in to my bladder, what a relief that was, the doctors and Dr Williams on the phone still didn't believe me from what the ER doctor told me, But they finally admitted me and got me a room, my scrotum and lower body parts were tightly filled with urine in my system but even so dr Williams gave order not to help me, I didn't actually see Dr Williams for 5 more days, I just lay in the hospital bed in pain and my inside was filled with urine, no one helped me because Dr Williams gave orders that I must have been making it all up, Finally after nearly a week dr Williams showed up for the first time after the surgery with a scope machine to see inside of my urethra tube, when he ran the scope in me he saw that he had infact burst my urethra wide open during surgery 5 days ago and that I was actually laying with urine inside of me and had developed an infection, he laughed and said "well at least you're not septic yet, and he had never seen this before, so his nurse had the hospital put me on strong antibiotics, So the next day he put me back in surgery to pull all the implant out so I could heal up, he told me that scar tissue in my urethra would always be a problem and that I would always for the rest of my life have to deal with that by seeing him regularly, also one of my kidneys was damaged because of urine backing up inside of me and over time I might lose it oneor both, So after the removal surgery I had to go in to get my staples out, I still had the catheter in and I was dragging a urine bag around and dr Williams was supposed to run a score inside me to see how my urethra was healing but that my insurance hadn't paid him for this Scopping yet and that I would have to make another appointment, So in progress of time I noticed that Dr Williams seemed to be trying to get rid of me, he was just cold to me and was creating obstacles for me to get better, I happened to find a good urethra specialist in Dallas th
