I was told the Prius I was interested in had a newly installed used hybrid battery. Before moving forward, I asked for documentation. I was given a receipt they printed on site, and lata photo of a battery serial number. To be cautious, I tried to verify this information on my own. The phone number listed for the battery installation company did not go through when I called, and when I reverse-searched the photo of the battery serial number, I found the exact same image online, not tied to this vehicle. At that point, I no longer felt comfortable proceeding. I'm sharing this so other buyers know to independently verify any major claims, especially expensive components like hybrid batteries, before making a decision. I ultimately chose to walk away and would recommend future customers do the same level of due diligence. I am a college student and am disheartened but not surprised this was my experience.
