Sissy and Aaron were the absolute sweetest and provided amazing services! My sister also brought her bridesmaid dress in and we got a group discount and the prices were reasonable. I didn't even have to say much, after putting my dress on Sissy knew exactly where to alter and what to do and she did amazing! My dress was so comfortable and fit perfectly on my wedding day! The dress was not ready on time and we had to return the day before the wedding (2 hour drive), which blew up pre wedding plans. They tried placing blame on us but the reasoning made no sense at all. They literally hadn't started the adjustments they measured for 3 months prior. They said something about her gaining weight?! Which is not true and still makes no sense given the dress was still too big. The dress was not snug enough in the waist and so my daughter had to rely on the small sewn in straps (which were cut too short). They snapped off during the reception. Thankfully we had a second dress as a back up. Lastly, there was not a clear price articulated until the dress was ready (they texted the day before pick up and requested cash for a lower amount - $70 fee to use credit. I did not believe the rate aligned with the original quote. The owner was extremely offended by my concerns and explained they were up til 2am working on the dress. (note: they gave us a discounted rate after concerns shared but the husband was very upset, argumentative and vocal with me in front of the bride). Sissy's kindness and gentleness was this couples only redeeming quality. I will not return because of the lack of professionalism and the dress breaking, as I anticipated. If you use them ask for a solid price quote well in advance and get it in writing. Also plan to pick up weeks in advance just in case. read more

I'm very disappointed with my experience here. My bridesmaid dress was not altered correctly at all--especially the sleeves. They were supposed to be taken in, but they were barely touched and kept falling off my arms, making the dress unwearable without constant adjusting. What made the situation worse was the pricing. I was told by the male worker that I would be given the cheapest price possible. However, I ended up paying $340 in cash, (it would have been more in card), for two dresses ($170 each), which shocked me when I later found out that every other bridesmaid paid under $100. They also got their dresses altered last minute. I trusted what I was told, and I feel taken advantage of--both in terms of the quality of the work and the price. We went in for wedding dress alterations and after the seamstress carefully pinned everything that needed to be adjusted -- including the waist, bust, and hem length -- my daughter simply asked for a quote before committing to the work. Instead of answering professionally, the husband, who handles the front desk and phone calls, immediately became rude and started removing all the pins from the dress in a very disrespectful attitude. He told us they "don't give quotes" and that they "just do the work." He also bragged that "everyone knows who they are" and that they only work through referrals. When we calmly explained that it would have been helpful to know the price, he became even more offended and suddenly said the alterations cost. He sarcastically added that we could probably find "some cheap place" to do it instead. We were shocked that simply asking for a quote before agreeing to alterations was treated like an insult. Completely unprofessional, rude, and uncomfortable experience. Customer service matters, especially when dealing with something as important as a wedding dress. read more

Terrible experience. I took my daughter to an appointment she scheduled for alterations on her wedding dress. From the start, the treatment was unacceptable. The woman taking her measurements kept asking my daughter her age and making comments about how she "didn't look Hispanic" and that her father was white. Completely inappropriate and unnecessary comments for a simple alteration appointment. To make things worse, the owner refused to give a price before taking the dress. His method was to leave the gown and find out the cost when picking it up -- paying blindly, with zero transparency. When my daughter questioned that, the owner turned rude, started removing the pins from the dress, and told her that if she wanted something cheaper she should look elsewhere -- clearly implying she couldn't afford it. The final price was $500 -- which was not the issue. The issue was the discrimination, the lack of transparency, and the humiliating treatment. He claimed "everyone knows him" and that he doesn't give quotes. Do not recommend. read more

So unbelievably rude. I went into to get some shirts altered. I walk in on a Sunday and a man and a women come out. Ask me what I'm looking for. Great customer service, very nice people. When I dropped off my dress, they took measurements and I asked for a quote. They said they could not give me one, I asked for a range and they said "anywhere between $500-$1,000." I went for my second appointment, alterations were great, they still would not give me a quote despite me asking. At this point I was very nervous as they had my dress and I felt very vulnerable. When I picked up my dress, the cost was well over $600 for a bustle, adding cups and taking in the waist and bust less than 2 in. I felt that was over priced but I had no choice. That night I had my bridal portraits and there were still pins in my dress and the cups were not sewn in. To say I was upset was an understatement. I do feel like I was taken advantage of in regards to pricing but they are nice people with decent work. I would just demand a quote before doing business. read more

Absolutely amazing service. Sissy is one of the most kind-hearted people I have ever met. Initially, coming in needing a pattern being made, she offered on her own personal time for me to come in whenever to teach me how to do it myself. As a fashion student, this warmed my heart so much. Doing business as a young adult in the fashion industry isn't welcoming at all to a kid with a dream that wants to make an idea reality. I have had very rough meetings, encounters, being immediately brushed off with others but in this case, working with Sissy, was the complete opposite. I came in and she instantly offered to teach me how to refine my design skills on top of learning the ropes of the design scene. She assisted me in refining my pattern to exactly like the sketch I presented. She showed me techniques, her work, and the cherry on top was viewing the fittings of her beautiful custom pieces. Seeing the brides come in and try on their wedding gowns was absolute bliss. The joyous reactions filled the entire room as each and every customer tried on their gorgeous gowns that fit like a glove. With the unique designs, she incorporated into the dresses, Sissy turned "Nada, into Prada", to say the least. Watching the hard labor of refined handcrafted work she puts into each customer's pieces was like a Michelin star chef's cuisine. The reactions that engulfed the room during a fitting. Those euphoric moments reminded me of exactly why I wanted to be a designer. In a world that is so dark nowadays, some special individuals feel like sunshine and radiate the glow onto others. Nourishing people, places, or things with their beautiful rays of light. That was my experience with Sisssy's studio. The boutique where I had purchased my wedding dress had suggested Sissy with Excellent Alterations for my complex, layered Hayley Paige gown. Sissy was able to seamlessly disassemble the dress and completely reassemble it to the appropriate length and adjusted some of the fabric around the bust without it looking like any work had even been done. She bustled it in a way that kept the intent of the dress design and only took a couple of buttons. All the work was done perfectly and only in about 6 weeks; her prices are the best you're going to find for intricate work like this. My mom took in her MoB dress and I took in a bridesmaid's dress for another wedding I'll be in soon to get hemmed and fitted and they both turned out perfectly as well! We love Sissy! read more

Sissy, does an amazing work and takes pride in the work she does. She completely reworked my ball gown for my daughter's wedding. I was ready to return the gown thinking there was just too much that needed to be done and therefore no way it could be successfully altered to fit my 5'3 height and curves. Sissy is truly talented. Let me start off with Sissy is very sweet. My first appointment with dropping off the dress went amazing went the following week for my next appointment not only did she forget my appointment and I had to call her she had done nothing to my dress yet. She ran to the back and ripped the seams where we were suppose to be letting it out in my hips like she measured the previous times with pins on what she needed to do. So my third appointment I called to make sure she wouldn't forget and she made it tighter in the hips to where I couldn't even sit. My last appointment she forgot about me AGAIN and she had 2 weeks to have it finished but had it ready the following day still wet from steaming it. I'm sharing my experience because with the stress of everything with wedding planning anyway your seamstress forgetting your appointments and also looking like she has no idea who you are every time you walk in isn't something you want to add to it. And after she had already been working on my dress she told me she was scared to do my dress because I have an hour glass shape, if you're that worried say you don't feel comfortable because this is a big deal not pants that need to be altered. read more
