I have unfortunately had a nightmarish experience tailoring my wedding dress. The first tailor basically botched my dress, and then a family friend with tailoring experience helped me out and un-did as much of the tailoring as she was able. After taking my bridal portraits I was very uncomfortable, adjusting my dress constantly, and nearly tripping. I knew I couldn't go like this to my wedding. I called Agape and she told me to bring the dress in the same day and promised a quick turn-around time. I believe the owners name is Joy, and she is so kind and helpful. She made a great suggestion to make me more comfortable in my dress and also took the hem up further so I could walk comfortably. I work early hours, so she agreed to meet me early in the morning on a weekend so that I could get my dress ASAP. She also brought up the neckline on another dress I'm using for my wedding. Her turnaround time is impressive and her pricing is very fair. She does not try to upsell you and will not alter things that she doesn't see necessary. I am so, so, so grateful to her for making me feel comfortable in my wedding dress. I only wish she had been my first stop! I will bring any items I need tailored to Agape in the future. Came in to have a dress altered for the Renaissance tour. The dress was a silver halter top with a continuous halter. I'm tall and the dress was shorter than I'd like so I though opening up the halter and adding straps to create a tie would let me lengthen the dress. Luckily for me the lady understood completely! She also had white fabric on hand to create the new halter straps. They were able to complete the dress in a week which was enough time for me sober I didn't wait last second. They have good hours and you can save a lil change if you pay with cash. read more

She was incredibly rude on the phone. I simply asked for a ballpark estimate on what it would cost to get a dress fitted and she gave me a rude answer saying how on earth is she supposed to know. I've never gotten a dress fitted before and was trying to get an estimate on what this would cost me. Very pleased with my experience with Agape. I, too, like other reviewers, came here because of the epic reviews, and was not disappointed. Needed a pair of linen pants altered for a summer beach wedding. Upon arrival, the owner was helping a gentleman, so I took a seat on the couch. She seemed to be flying through the pinning and marking! Then, the gentleman stepped off the block to change into another suit needing alterations, and I was directed to change ...sort of implying - and definitely making me feel "worked in" between the other gentleman's needs. Once changed and up on the block, couldn't have been there more than five minutes. Boy, she's not afraid to give her opinion! I've recently lost weight, and once we discuss length, she bluntly pointed out how baggy the pants looked around my hind-end. She frankly said it looked bad, and they should be altered. I half expected to see my girlfriend standing next to her! Ha! Bottom line: bing - bang - boom: in and out in less than 15 minutes and the pants were ready a week later. Very competitive pricing. My only small complaint: the length came out a tad shorter than I usually like, and tighter around the buttocks than I'm used to, but part of that may be adjusting to form fitting clothes. I chose Agape based on the reviews. My wedding dress needed lots of work and I was nervous to take it to just anyone. Joy is not only a seamstress, but also an artist!! She took her God given talent and made my dress beautiful! She takes great pride in her work. I looked over the dress many times and I still cant figure out how she made the alterations look so seamless! The bustle was complicated and I should have brought someone with me to learn. We put the dress on the hanger and she showed me how to do it. Then she made me do it several times to make sure I could teach someone else. The alterations were not cheap, but the wedding boutique shared that with me when I bought the dress so I knew what to expect. I needed a tailor--a service I rarely have a need for--so I went to Yelp. Folks seem to love this place. After my experience here, I can see why. I had a couple of sport coats I needed to have taken in and to have the sleeves shortened a bit. Nothing major. From what I gather, a fairly easy bit of tailoring. I walked in on a Friday afternoon. No other customers were in the shop at the time. The lady who met me was super friendly. She had me try on the blazers in question and waited for me to tell her what I wanted done. I simply told her that I'd trust her judgement. She made some brief adjustments, had me pay, and told me to pick the jackets up in a week. I went back on the day she promised to find both jackets finished. They fit perfectly. No more boxy, baggy look and the sleeves were just right, she even moved the buttons appropriately. Without having anything else to compare it to, I thought it was a bit on the pricey side for the work done. However, I had zero complaints about the quality of the work, so I feel like that's a proper trade off. In other words, the tailor is well worth the price she charged. Joy does a great job on my clothes every time. I get my jeans and pants for work hemmed there and my blouses, the ones with the buttons, I have them sewn closed so they don't open for peek-a-boos. As someone who has a lot of tailoring done I can attest that a good tailor can be difficult to find - but this place was great! Not from the area and needed a suit tailored on short notice so I went with this option based on all of the good reviews and my expectations were exceeded. Went in on a Friday afternoon and explained I was trying to get my suit tailored and back the next day and they were able to accommodate me. I tapered the legs, raised the break, took in the waist, shortened and tapered the sleeves as well, all with a one day turnaround ..the best part is, the work was EXCELLENT. Went in with a baggy suit and walked out with a slim, modern tailored look - the tailor listened to what I wanted and made it happen. I came here when buying a suit off the rack and needed some major adjustments. As soon as I walked through the door, the owner greeted me and had me change into the suit and started measuring within about 5 to 6 minutes with help from a 3 mirror 180 degree setup. After she took a few quick notes, she said it would be a pretty easy fix for her since she's been doing this a long time and told me to come back in about 4 to 5 days. All in all, my suit alterations costed about $50 to $60, most of that coming from some jacket changes that needed to be made. Once I came back and tried on the suit, it looked great and it fit even better than I expected. Her customer service is fantastic, she's very friendly and helped me to look great for my special day. She wasn't the cheapest tailor I've been to but when getting alterations, you don't wanna go cheap! I will come back to her for alterations for a long time I'm sure. read more

Hot has always been so sweet and does really great work. I have a vintage Christian door shawl lapel tuxedo that had been sized twice before, and after the last place did such a terrible job I was really worried it wouldn't be able to be resized again because they left such sporadic amounts of fabric that wasn't even cut cleanly. But Joy got it fitting perfectly again and, as it should be, you can't tell it was ever altered. She's also fitted a suit for me in just 2 days when I had to go to a funeral. Just picked up my items and I'm so impressed! I was worried since I was getting a saree altered and it has such intricate lace on it but you can't tell it was altered at all. The size is also perfect, as if it was made just for me (: Joy was incredibly nice and even though it had been a minute since I had dropped it off, she remembered me and my outfits as soon as I walked in.
