The tailor is rude and sarcastic and feels that her wants or way is correct. It doesn't matter what you want. This place lacks courtesy and respect for the paying customer. I took my beautiful expensive mother of the bride dress to get hemmed. I picked it up and luckily tried it on. The dress came back with a crooked edge. She didn't even put a hem on it just did a weird looking edge on a formal gown. Also left a dark green mark near the hem. The dress is a soft rose color so very noticeable. Would never go back there. If it's cheap clothes u need altered they would be ok but anything expensive i do not recommend. read more

I came here to get my wedding dress let out and could not be more pleased with the entire process here. Since the back of the dress was a zip up, the lady suggested adding an adjustable corset. I also asked her to add a bustle. Since she needed additional fabric that matched the dress for the corset, she sent me to the fabric store to pick up fabric, which i was happy to do. I paid $83 upfront and was told to pick up my dress 2 weeks later. The staff is friendly and I didn't have any problems with prior services until last month. I left about 10 dresses that needed alterations. Unfortunately I did not try them on until recently so I didn't know how bad of a job they did. Four of the dresses came back with crooked bottoms. Not just slightly noticeable, I'm talking where part of the dress drags and the other part shows my shoes. Two of the dresses are long to one side. I paid around $250 for all the work I had done. Expensive. Turn around time was a week, which I was fine with, and I was even fine with $15 to fix a zipper, not an issue. But why I say expensive is because I have pillowcases that literally just need a sewn line on them (they are king size and I want them standard) and they would be $12 each for just a surged line. I have 4 of them, and just to alter the pillowcases would literally cost more than the entire sheet set (Costco). So, although I may use them for broken zippers, I'll hand sew everything else. read more

A complete Disappointment! You are required to pay upfront but if the dress/garment doesn't fit right they ask for more money!! I needed a simple black evening gown to be taken in because the top half was too big... I go to pick up the dress 1 week later and it's not right. I asked the alteration lady if she could fix it and make it more snug so the fabric wouldn't gather but she suggested I buy a padded bra to "take up the space" or pay her more money!! The dress was so loose it made my body look saggy in the front and the back! I'm 5'2 125lb as a petite woman I like my clothes to fit and not fall off my body. The customer service was extremely poor! She did not listen to any of the changes that I wanted done. A complete waist of time and money!!! I went here to get several things altered, created, and mended. I brought in a large coat that needed to be taken in. A tapestry that needed handles for a curtain rod to hang on the wall. 2 tops that needed mending because the lining was unraveling. 1 pair of jeans that needed a button as well as that button area to be filled in because it had a gaping hole in it. = $91.91 I thought it was a good deal. The people are super sweet and friendly but it took them two weeks to hem one pair of yoga-type pants (unlined). I had to go back twice because the first time they just hacked off the hem and didn't bother sewing it. Then when I finally got my pants the hem was slightly uneven. I have a 40 year old wedding dress (Victorian style) I wanted re-made for my 40th Wedding Anniversary celebration. Joan had wonderful suggestions for the dress re-do to modernize the dress and still have it flattering to my mature figure. She did a fabulous job and only took two weeks. She was very creative utilizing pieces of lace and pearls from the original, placing them over new seems, creating a new neckline, and tiered hem line. It looks fabulous! I rarely write a review, but I don't think I've ever been this upset. This company took something very special to me and treated it like a joke. I just moved to San Antonio and had accidentally ripped a monogrammed silk embroidered throw pillow of mine in my move. Because it was a keepsake, I decided to take it to a seamstress to repair the slit in the fabric right away. I brought it to Joan's, and the seamstress said it wasn't repairable, b/c it had no way to sew it from the inside. She suggested I go to Hobby Lobby to find a decal to iron over it. I left and went to Hobby Lobby, but I didn't find an appropriate decal. AND, I realized the pillow did have a zipper and could be opened to sew. I went back to Joan's and told the women that it does have a zipper, and I would like her to just stitch it up. The threads wouldn't be that bad, and if i came across a decal later, I could place it over the stitches.When I picked up the pillow today, I couldn't believe the carelessness of the alteration! It looked worse than when i took it in to the shop. The stitches were large and so sloppy! There wasn't even a uniform pattern. I walked to my car and noticed the pillow was stained, as well. I went back to the shop, said the stitches looked terrible, the pillow had a stain on it and wanted the stitches out. She said she would make a larger tear if she did and that I needed to go find an iron on to put over it. It would have to be a rather LARGE iron on at this point. She said the stain was a shadow from inside fabric. I took it home and looked at it in the light. It was some kind of liquid-water stain. If they didn't want to take the time to sew my pillow correctly, why couldn't they just tell me? It's like they thought I could just stick a large decal over it and it would solve the problem. The stitches were HUGE, uneven zig-zags. The sewed area was even larger than the original rip. In all honesty, could have sewed a better seam myself. Never going back here again! I have to give them one star, or else I would have given them zero stars. And they kept my money. read more
