0 STAR -- BUYERS, PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING HERE My experience with Excel Motors has been extremely disappointing, especially with how management handled a serious mechanical concern shortly after my purchase. I purchased a used 2009 Ford Ranger from Excel Motors on June 28, 2026, for $12,500 with approximately 77,796 miles. After driving the truck only about 50 MILES since purchasing it, I discovered the engine was leaking oil. I contacted the manager on Thursday, July 30 and explained the situation. I even sent him VIDEO EVIDENCE of the oil leak so he could see the problem before I brought the truck back. He instructed me to bring the vehicle in on August 3 because their mechanic would be available. I took TIME OFF WORK and arrived at the dealership around 10:30 AM as instructed. Instead of being concerned about why a vehicle they had recently sold me was leaking oil after only about 50 miles of use, the manager seemed more concerned about a negative review/survey I had previously submitted about the dealership. Rather than focusing on the truck, he repeatedly confronted me about my previous review and made a comment along the lines of, "Now you need my help after that shitty review." For approximately 10 minutes, the conversation turned into an argument about my review instead of addressing the reason I was there: THE TRUCK WAS LEAKING OIL. I explained that my previous review reflected my personal experience with the dealership. Whether management agreed with my review or not should have had absolutely nothing to do with professionally addressing a mechanical concern. What makes this situation especially concerning to me is the timeline. I paid $12,500 for this truck. I drove it approximately 50 miles. Now the engine is leaking oil. With such limited use after the purchase, I have serious concerns that this problem may have already existed when the truck was sold to me. I gave Excel Motors every reasonable opportunity to address the situation professionally. I contacted them first. I explained the problem. I sent video evidence. I followed the manager's instructions. I took time off work. I brought the truck in at the agreed time. Instead of feeling like a customer with a legitimate concern, I felt like I was being confronted and criticized because I had previously left negative feedback. That is unacceptable customer service in my opinion. If you're considering purchasing a used vehicle from this dealership, I strongly recommend getting a COMPLETE INDEPENDENT PRE-PURCHASE INSPECTION before signing anything. Don't assume that because a vehicle looks good or has relatively low mileage that there aren't mechanical problems underneath. Also, DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. Save your texts, videos, paperwork, mileage, and communications. I wish I had been able to simply bring the truck in, have the oil leak properly investigated, and have a professional conversation about what could be done. Went to look at a truck because it was a good price and all 4 tires were dry rotted and at the wear bars and the truck had really bad cam phaser noise. Salesman told me he hadn't noticed it he couldn't have missed the cam phaser noise and said if I wanted the truck he could have it fixed but would have to be $1000 over listed price if he fixed them. read more

BUYER BEWARE! Booked a flight from New Mexico to Sacramento to purchase a ("excellent condition" 2016 GMC with the intention of driving back home. The salesman/ owner, knew this and assured me of its condition. 1- extremely bad serpentine belt 2- windshield wiper blades completely worn out - and they replaced them and installed them incorrectly, binding the wiper arms so it blew the fuse, but didn't tell me about it til after I left. 3- Spare tire winch under rear bed is missing so the spare tire rides in the bed. 4- I drove half way home, and lost oil pressure!! spent $1000 for a hotel, and a U-Haul to get it home. 5- Now I'm engine shopping since it has metal shavings in the oil pan and is toast. I have to spend an additional $7800+ to replace the engine (P&L) to get this back on the road with a used engine. RED FLAG! These guys rip you off. $500 deposit and they KEEP it even if you don't end up buying the car. They say the car goes through a safety inspection but the vehicle they sold to me had WARN OUT BRAKES AND ROTORS. That's a safety hazard. I brought it back the next day and they said they weren't supposed to help after selling me the vehicle and that they were doing me a favor by doing so. Yes, they helped me buy new ones but they didn't have to be negative about it. Nothing about this was my fault! This place felt very scammy for that. read more

i've bought several used cars in my lifetime from dealerships. I would just like to say that Ariana and Sam did everything they could to get me in the vehicle that was just right for me. I would just like to say they stand behind their word there ended up being an issue with the vehicle the day after I bought it. unfortunately, there was no warranty. They made repairs and went out of their way to make it right when they weren't obligated to. Nowhere in our contract said there was a warranty, but they did give me a verbal and they stood behind it. Worst horrible experience. People please don't buy anything from here. Trust me!!! I bought a 2007 ford f 150 lariat a month ago. And yes I have test drove it and checked it out. There were some small issues with the truck as far as the windows not able to go up after they went down. But the main things about that made it worst is that these people lie to you. My catalytic converter went out and also they told me they had changed the spark plugs and I got them checked and they have never changed them they were old and rusted. Them knowing I'm a firefighter I would think they would be honest people and tell me everything that would be wrong with the truck. They just seem to sell just to make money but no honesty. So people be careful when you buy from them..I don't know how being transparent means that my catalytic converter was going to go out and then lying to me about that they change the spark plugs when they were old and rusty. They never were transparent about these issues. I had to pay $1500 for the catalytic converter and now they are charging 900 for the spark plugs . I have all receipts and the mechanics paperwork about what was wrong. read more
