We were having with our over the counter low voltage lights. In our kitchen. Omar diagnosed the problem in an hour. But didn't have the correct transformer on the truck. He came back the next day, and replaced the transformer. All work done well. When it came to paying him, my wife misunderstood the charge. And made out our check for the wrong amount. She over paid him by $35.00. We felt the mistake was our fault. And didn't say anything. About a week later. Excel sent us a check for the difference. Who does that now days? Most would just stick the difference in their pocket. And not said anything Its nice the find an honest man. I would call Excel next time I need an electrician. read more

Excel Electrical in Orland Park is great. The Manager Omar came out to assess the work that was needed right away (and it wasn't even an emergency) and provide a price (reasonable). Omar reassured me the electrical system did not need the very expensive upgrades and replacements two other electricians advised. He also showed me on paper with calculations and demonstrations why the upgrades were not needed. Had I known this I would not have waited more than a year to have a short out circuit fixed. Alixi the Project Manager performed the repairs. He was soft spoken, polite and even tolerated my dog that barked the entire morning. Neither of them judged the way my house looks (work in progress). Please give them the opportunity to assess the situation. I will definitely be calling them back for additional work next year. read more

I was looking to get a Tesla Wall Connector Installed. Unfortunately, my breaker box was inside the house instead of the garage, making installation a bit more complicated. I was quoted almost $4,000 for installation by 4 Seasons. I decided to get a second opinion and Omar came the next day to do an estimate and explained what needed to be done and answered all my questions. The cost of the installation including all the necessary materials came up to only a third of what 4 Seasons quoted. On the day of installation, the electricians came on time and was very courteous. As you can see from the photo,they took great care prepping the work area. Once they were done, they made sure everything was as clean as possible and stayed to make sure the charger was working flawlessly. I'm extremely satisfied with the service they provided and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to have an EV charger installed or needs any electrical work done. I scheduled Excel to come over and replace my doorbell transformer, change our two outdoor lights to motion detector lights, and replace a light fixture in backyard with the exact same brand and stock item because the rust had made it impossible to change the lights on the old one. The fellow arrived with a doorbell transformer that did not fit my description that I gave their office, so he got on the phone with his boss for 10 min, and he figured out the one he had would also work (it does seem to work although it's not the one I requested from Excel that ADT recommended for their Ring doorbell so I guess stay posted whether ADT thinks it's the right one when they come back out). Then, on to the front lights. I thought they were making the existing lights motion lights or even lights that go on at night (putting them on a timer). He gets on the phone again with his boss for 10 min and offers to go out to buy lights, but I like the look of my existing ones, and I don't want to pay for an electrician's time buying lights. I guess they thought I had bought new lights to install. So, we decide to forget that job. He, then, replaced the outside back light with same kind. Total for job? $390. Hmmm...seems a bit high to me. Transformer costs $10-25.00 so that was his only part. He was not here more than 90 min and some of that was phone time with boss. If he's confused about a job, I should not be paying for his time on the phone. I think about the time it took for the two items, and it should have been more like $200-total, not $400. I felt cheated which is too bad--first time this company came out, around 8 years ago, I thought they were amazing. I actually kept their contact information for 8 yrs....but not anymore. read more

Unprofessional. High prices. Replaced one switch and was supposed to come back for the second part of the job. However they never showed up when they said they would. We hired another electrician who did an awesome job for 1/2 the price!! Then we were hounded months later for payment for the first part of the job. In my opinion since we lost a day of work waiting with no call there should have been a discount or something for inconveniencing us. Instead we received multiple calls for payment. I'm very lucky to live close to Excel, as I'm very impressed with their professionalism and quality of work. Rates are reasonable, particularly given their guarantee (10yr on work, 5yr on materials). I had a utility pole downed in my backyard from a windstorm - turns out I own the pole (I didn't think it was possible to OWN a utility pole - it is). I called three electricians and Excel was the only one who could send someone to review and provide and estimate ASAP (I called at 11am and had someone over at 3pm). (The estimate = final price. Another bonus.) Omar at Excel was so professional and patient with my questions and even helped me with a non-electrical issue at home! His team was polite (yes, another bonus), professional and simply did great work - FAST. It was so hot during the 2 days of work (90+ degrees) and they kept going, quickly and efficiently. I am amazed at the job and am SO GLAD I picked them. About a year ago Excel Electric installed a portable generator transfer switch to my house and it works perfectly...I didn't hesitate to call them again when I needed a ceiling fan installed, shortly after leaving a message stating what I needed, the owner Omar returned my call and I explained to him that I was trying to install the ceiling fan myself but I got confused with the wiring...Omar stated he would be more than happy to send somone out to finish the job, then Omar explained to me over the phone the correct way to wire the ceiling fan and it is working perfectly...I would give Excel 10 stars if I could.
