From the moment I checked in, there seemed to be a lack of attention to detail that ultimately resulted in an unsatisfactory experience. During check-in, my Marriott Bonvoy membership was not properly verified, despite my mentioning it and attempting several times to have my information confirmed when I noticed my stay was not appearing in my Marriott account. Because of this, I did not receive the recognition or benefits I typically receive as a Gold Elite member. I also asked whether any room upgrades were available after being told the hotel had plenty of availability. I was informed that any upgrade would require an additional charge. As a Gold Elite member, complimentary room upgrades are a benefit when available, so I was surprised that this option was never discussed or offered. There were also multiple discrepancies with the billing. I was quoted a total of $232, but my card was charged $313. To make matters even more confusing, the receipt displayed on my in-room TV showed a total of $301. Receiving three different amounts left me with very little confidence that my reservation and charges were being handled accurately. Additionally, I was told that I did not qualify for a late checkout. As a Gold Elite member, late checkout is a benefit offered based on availability, yet I was simply told I did not qualify without any explanation. Perhaps the most concerning part of my stay occurred after housekeeping serviced my room. When I returned, I found that my personal belongings, which I had left neatly on the desk, had been moved and thrown together. While nothing appeared to be missing, I was disappointed that my personal items were handled so carelessly. Guests should be able to trust that their belongings will be treated with respect and left undisturbed as much as possible during room servicing. Overall, this stay fell well below the level of service I have come to expect from Marriott properties. I chose this hotel because of the consistency and quality of service I've experienced with Marriott over the years, but this visit left me frustrated by the lack of communication, inconsistent information, billing discrepancies, careless handling of my belongings, and failure to recognize my Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite benefits. I hope management reviews these concerns so future guests receive the level of service expected from the Marriott brand.

They opened the doors and greeted us upon entry and exit. The entrance had a nice and spacious foyer. A flight of stairs led to the venue of the event. Check in was a breeze. My favorite cocktail bites for the evening were the coconut crusted shrimp with plum sauce as well as the mini lump crabcakes with aioli. They paired well with the glass of bubbly. Took a variety of nibbles that was provided from crackers to cheese to berries to sandwiches. They were ok. Before leaving, we had some calming herbal tea with a squeeze of lemon wedge. They gave us iced tea in to go cups for the road.

I don't know anything about this part of town. The trip down here had mild "first few moments of an episode of Criminal Minds" vibes as the uber driver was taking deserted, dark back alleys through heavily industrial and/or abandoned industrial areas. I was not sure if I was going to find myself carved into pieces and safely stowed in his freezer in what I imagined what would not be a very nice apartment at all or what. But then the abandoned warehouse rows finally parted and then you could see the super upscale looking joint kind of sticking out off in the distance with the bright glam lights and the valet boys hustling about the lot. I don't like large crowds, but if I had to be a part of a large crowd again I would do so in the handsome event space within. It is part industrial Brooklyn nightclub vibes with the wide open spaces and reverberatory noise, but part family bat mitzvah vibes that you could bring everyone and really make it family style for the whole evening. Perfect space for wearing that fancy hat in your life out of the house where you mingle with fancy people where you don't know half of them half as well as you should like; and like less than half of them half as well as they deserve.
