Evolved Body Art - Piercing Near Me - Columbus, Ohio

I went to get 2 earlobes re-pierced after they closed in years ago. I arrived 7pm on a Tuesday and waited for approximately 1.5 hours. The was a lady behind the counter was super patient with me as I asked about the prices of the piercings and jewelry. She even suggested that I do one piercing on Tuesday (they have a Tuesday special of 1 free piercing with the purchase of jewelry) and another on my birthday (birthday special - same deal) the next day to maximize the amount of money I save. Dave did my piercing. I was initially super nervous, but he answered all my questions patiently. You could tell he was knowledgeable about what he was doing; he told me he'd been a piercer for almost as long as I was alive. Dave disinfected my ears, waited a bit, then slid a needle right through my earlobes. It hurt a bit but wasn't too unbearable. He explained the aftercare process, then sent me on my way. All in all, I highly recommend Evolved Body Art. The place was clean, staff was friendly, and everything was transparent. The downside, in my opinion, were the high prices of the jewelry - but Dave assured me they were made of medical grade titanium from Swarovski. I'll definitely be back once I summon up the courage for another piercing... or even a tattoo. The piercings were $15 each The studs were $30 (prices vary depending on size) read more

I cannot say enough good things about this place! Staff is ridiculously friendly & make you feel super comfortable. I went in today to do a spontaneous piercing for my birthday & got pierced by Dave! (PSA: they do free bday piercings!! not including the jewelry) Coming from someone who has tattoos and piercings, I am just not a fan of needles. so I was super anxious & extremely nervous but Dave kept me calm and very comfortable. The entire area was safe, sanitary, clean and fun! I could tell that everyone there loved what they did and took pride in their work. I will definitely be coming back for any future work and won't go to anyone but Dave for any future piercings! thanks y'all! read more

Great piercing experience! They have lots of good deals, including free piercing with purchase of jewelry on Tuesday, free piercing on your birthday with purchase of jewelry, and buy one, get one free piercings with purchase of jewelry on Thursdays. I opted to walk-in on a Thursday, so there was a little bit of a wait. Dave was really friendly and courteous and made me feel very comfortable. He answered questions and provided clear details and recommendations for aftercare. I am very happy with the results. read more

I have gotten two of my three tattoos here and 4 of my piercings. I always recommend Evolved to anyone who asks for where to get piercings or tattoos because of the quality of the work and kindness of the staff. Everyone who works at both locations is extremely knowledgeable about their area of work and are always helpful if any questions arise. The jewelry selection is incredible and beautiful, ranging from medical grade sterling and titanium to 14k gold and everything in between. The professionalism, cleanliness, and welcoming atmosphere will have me returning for any of my piercing and tattoo needs. read more

I came into Evolved looking to get a poorly done tattoo elsewhere redone. I got randomly assigned to Quil. To be honest, this isn't the way I typically handle tattooing. I'm the sort who researches, checks out their book online, etc. etc. but I had had work done at Evolved over the years and knew the shop's reputation for hiring great artists, so I went in and figured I'd see what they suggested, knowing I could always leave if it didn't feel right. I think it took 6 seconds of interacting with Quil before I was sure this was the exact right fit. Quil listened to my concerns about what currently existed, asked intentional questions to be sure to understand what I wanted, and then explained exactly what could be done to achieve the desired result. I then completed the mandatory paperwork (which had a space to list the name I wanted to be called--maaaajor applause for inclusivity!). Once paperwork was done, I witnessed the prep process, including sterilizing the area and getting new needles and such ready. By the time the process was done, I ended up not just thrilled with the final tattoo result, I was beyond grateful to have lucked into being tattooed by someone who not only had epic-level talent but who was a really cool person. I am SO excited for it to be all healed up and ready to show off! tl;dr: If you want an amazing tattoo, go to Quil. If you want to be tattooed by an awesome person, go to Quil. read more

Eclectic Sunday, part three: Sweetie and I just had an anniversary, and wanted to commemorate our wedding date with a tattoo. It was my second, and I didn't even cry... We came here mainly due to the Yelp reviews, but also because we had heard of it other places and, well, it seemed to be one of the few places open on Sunday. It's tucked away off High Street, upstairs, in a large, stylish space. Service was great the whole way through. We had help picking our design, then were ushered back and took our turns on the table. Matt was very cool and very good at what he did. Our designs were small and simple, so it didn't take long. He did exactly what we wanted, and the price was very reasonable. I'd go back, if I get another tattoo. But then, I got two, for very specific reasons, and am not planning any more. I don't see how it could get better than this, though. They had all kinds of stuff for piercings too, if you're into that. read more

These guys are just awesome to work with! Earlier this year I had a piece done by an artist from a different studio that I liked, but didn't completely love. A friend recommended that I come to Evolved and see Chris Churchill, who had done a few of her pieces. Chris listened to my gripes about the piece and came up with some ideas for "fixing" those complaints. Now I absolutely love the piece. About a month ago I came back because I wanted a watercolor-style piece. I saw that Chris Borchik specialized in those types of tattoos, and we met and talked about what I was looking for. When I got to the shop, I liked his idea, but had a few things I wanted to change. He was receptive and more than willing to listen, and after a few minor revisions we were off and running. The staff is very professional, the shop is clean, there's artwork all over the place. I'm a huge fan of this place and will definitely give them my business in the future. read more

Evolved seems a little sketchy on the outside but once you go in it is beautiful and clean. There is always someone working the counter there to greet you, point you in the right direction and answer any questions you might have. I was stressed out about getting my first tattoo but they were all so friendly and understanding my nerves dissipated. Jake answered all of my questions (and the 500 my roommate asked) without getting annoyed. He made sure I was comfortable and knew not only what was happening but that if I needed a break I could easily take one. I would 100% recommend going there even just to ask questions about possibly getting something done. read more

Kelsi did an absolutely amazing job with my daith piercing. I was so anxious that it was going to hurt but it was not bad at all and Kelsi talked me through the entire thing. Such a patient, nice person all around because I tell you- I can be very difficult when afraid. Though the daith piercing is not proven to help migraines, it definitely has helped mine, placebo or not. After having my hundredth migraine of the semester my friend and I decided to go get piercings and we did not regret it!! They are super cute- thank you Kelsi!! :) The rest of the staff was wonderful and answered my questions as well, great place, clean stuff :D read more

My friends and I were in Columbus visiting and knew we wanted tattoos/piercings, but we weren't sure where to go since we're not from the area. After lots of research, we decided on Evolved Body Art, and we couldn't be happier! We walked in to see if they had availability, and they were able to fit all of us in fairly quickly. Claire did a cartilage piercing for my friend (that looks amazing!) and Jarrett did my tattoo, which not only turned out great, but was also the easiest and least painful tattoo I've ever gotten. It's exactly what I wanted, and it was quick and easy. He gave me great aftercare tips and advice as well in order to ensure a fast and easy healing process. I cannot recommend this place enough! Thank you to everyone at Evolved Body Art for such a great experience!! read more

Sydney was SO sweet, funny, and patient! She does INCREDIBLE line work and coloration, she's creative and passionate. The studio was clean and open, and the artists were so friendly. 100000% would recommend! read more

I love Evolved! I have received 3 or 4 piercings here, and they all healed super well and the piercing ladies are very friendly. I had Amanda for the first 3 or so piercings and, when I thought I had made an appointment with Amanda, it had turned out she wasn't in. No worries though, because Holly was just as great! In fact, my forward helix is in great shape less than a month post. I don't even feel a thing! Can't wait to get my other piercings done :) read more

I went twice for tattoos and was happy each time. The first time I went in, it was to fix ones that had been done before that were a mess, which is not something you want in a tattoo! They made them look great! And I was finally not embarrassed to show them in public. The second time I had Oliver and he added writing and did a few more touch ups and really perfected my existing tats. I would recommend them to anyone. If I get another one, I'll be driving back to Columbus, to them, for it. A side note, when I was waiting for my appointment one day, they were awesome enough to not allow a very intoxicated student (they are on campus basically) get a very permanent mistake. That's integrity. read more

This is my sixth visit as a walk-in client for tattoo work. I have had a different artist each time and I have been 100% satisfied (and beyond) for all of the work done. I like a minimalist style - which is not always highly interesting to an artist - but each time someone has taken me as a client and provided more than what I expected. Isaiah, Matt, Syd, MG, Gio, and Canada have all left their mark. I will be back, often. read more

Had two piercing on my ear done by Clair Rose! She is amazing and knows what she's doing, definitely recommend this spot!

Got pierced for a septum on my birthday and in an hour the ball on my septum fell off because it wasn't on tight enough. I called to see if it could get it fixed and was told it could be done. So i drove 30 minutes back up just to be told i have to wait an hour to have a simple ball screwed back on my jewelry. Not to mention, the person speaking to me was extremely rude about it. They were so rude I made this account just to post this review. read more

I've had 2 rlly good previous experiences at this place, but my most recent tattoo is so bad . I keep comparing it to my other tattoo that I got here and get so sad by the contrast in quality--esp cuz this thing is on me forever. If you want a solid tattoo done by a great guy I'd highly recommend Darius! He was great and I love his work. I would not risk it with anyone else. read more

This is a professional and laid back shop. This location seems a bit less busy than the Summit location. It's decorated very differently - more like a warehouse with a raw, industrial look. I don't dig the open floor too much, as there's no privacy while you're getting tattooed at all. Everyone can see you, and the receptionist walked back and forth talking to the artist about clients while he worked. I came in for a tattoo and my artist Joe was a very mellow, nontalkative guy. He does great work and tends to focus more on the art than words. My tattoo came out crisp and well done. I also talked to one of the piercers on staff and she was very friendly and knowledgeable. She talked to me for a while about cleaning a piercing I'm having trouble with. This is not a place to go if you want a cheap, half assed tattoo. The work here meets a standard that may not always come with a bargain price, but it will be done correctly. read more

Amazing Experience and the people here are truly amazing! Thanks for the great service and advice guys!

Evolved has an amazing deal that you pay for one piercing price and the next one is free. (Still gotta pay for both pieces of jewelry!) My mother, my sister-in-law, and I all got helix piercings (mom also got a nose stud) Holly was our piercer and she was absolutely wonderful. Great personality, makes wonderful suggestions for positioning, super caring and calming during the piercings. Evolved has character and it is super client supportive. No nickel in any of the earrings! Jolly Holly was spectacular and the woman at the desk a lot of help deciding on what kind of hoops we wanted! read more

I have gotten a couple piercings and a tattoo at this shop, and it is honestly my favorite shop in Columbus for this sort of thing. They do a good job every time, and with the tattoo, the artist did a perfect job on the tattoo I have wanted for years. They also always give clear aftercare instructions, and everything is very clean. All the tools used for it are opened right when you get the work done, so you know it's going to be clean. The shop itself is very clean, and I love the decorations in the front of the shop. Also, everyone there is very nice, and with piercings, they do help you change the jewelry if you need help with it. The artist that I had for my tattoo was Jordyn, and he listened to everything I wanted for the tattoo, and helped me design it. For both the piercings I've had, the piercer was Jared, and he is very good at it. Both were very minimal pain, and turned out really well. Unfortunately, I couldn't keep one of the piercings as it affected my ability to play the flute. All in all, I definitely recommend this shop for anyone considering getting a piercing or tattoo. read more

My experience at evolved was great! Amanda was so kind and helpful with my nostril piercing, giving me advice on positioning and talking me through the whole process. Their piercing prices are reasonable and they have a ton of jewelry to select from; the girl at the counter was able to guide me in the right direction. (Not my first piercing but I definitely liked the advice and reassurance nonetheless!) I have to say I was a little surprised that no one wore masks--though I understand we aren't in full covid mode it would have been nice to see at least some of the staff wear them while working (they did wear gloves and everything was clean, there was signage about sanitizing your own hands and social distancing.) Overall I'm super happy with my piercing experience at Evolved and would definitely go back/recommend to a friend! read more

Gosh it's great to be able to go back and safely be able to get the piercings/jewelry changes I've been so desperately waiting through quarantine to do! Everyone was kind, knowledgeable, and had your safety in mind with everything they did. From offering me a mask (I already had one) sanitizing my phone (super quick and easy), to the hand sanitizer throughout the place and the social distancing marked on the floor. You can tell they want to make sure their customers feel safe. Can't wait to come back for a tattoo this summer! read more

I had a much longer review written but it was deleted. Heres what you need to know: Evolved is clean, friendly, and reasonably priced. The studio was busy but it didn't feel overwhelmed. Dave pierced my helix and was very helpful in determining the placement. He listened to all of my nervous rambling and offered great advice and answers to questions. No one here tried to make me buy more than I wanted, and they even gave advice for my budget. The jewelry is implant grade surgical steel, and hasn't bothered my ear at all! I am very sensitive to cheaper metals and I've had very minor swelling from the actual piercing but zero irritation. Piercings are done in private rooms for privacy and hygiene. Everything was extremely clean from start to finish. The employee at the counter retrieved my [sanitary and individually wrapped] stud from a labeled container with a pair of clean forceps. When Dave took me back to the piercing room, he set up his station with a tray lined with a new sterile cover, a drop of ink from a bottle, a new, clean toothpick, sterile gauze, a fresh sterile needle, and a few other things I didn't recognize. Everything that touched that tray came out of its own wrapper right in front of me and immediately was placed on a sterile surface. From what I saw, everything was thrown away once the piercing was done. Their safety standards are strict and I appreciated the attention to every detail. Evolved is wonderfully staffed, affordable, and very very clean. I will be returning! read more

Great service and atmosphere, located in downtown Columbus. You may need to find street parking, so bring some change. Abundant variety of jewelry and colors to choose from. I got my right tragus pierced while my friend got her nose pierced. We were quite nervous, but Dave + the staff made us feel very comfortable throughout the process. My tragus piercing just felt like getting a quick shot! According to my friend, her nose piercing felt like a hot needle, but it was a quick process too. If you are looking to get tragus and/or nose piercings, Dave knows what he's doing! Thanks so much for the fun experience! I love my new cute tragus piercing! read more

Absolutely would come back. Dave and Holly took amazing care of me when I got my forward helix. Everyone was kind and welcoming, let me take my time picking my jewelry, and made sure to follow all the safety guidelines for coronavirus. I also replaced a healed helix with a ring and Dave made sure to pick the best size for my ear. He was so fun to talk with while he took care of me. read more

I received 4 piercings when I went into evolve. I was welcomed and walked through the jewelry I could select. It was shortly after opening on a week day so I had no wait and was one of the few customers in the store. Dave pierced my ears and did a great job walking me through cleaning practices. I have had a few piercings before so I wasn't too nervous, but for anyone that may be, he kept good light conversation which I'm sure could calm some nerves. I was in and out in less than an hour. I contacted Evolved on September 11 requesting 4 appts for Oct 11, stating we needed to be done by 1:30pm and that we were all coming from out of town for these tattoos. Ali said 2 of us could go at 12 and 2 of us at 1pm and that we would be done by 1:30 and all we needed to do was make our deposit over the phone. 2 of us made our deposits and I sent another email September 17 letting her know. At that point Ravyn replied stating that she is the normal scheduler and that the time frames Ali had told us would actually not be possible and they could not accomodate the 4 of us to be done by 1:30pm. We tried to make it work but ultimately decided to go elsewhere due to timing. I emailed Ravyn on September 21 saying that we needed to be refunded our deposits as we found another shop that could accomodate us. After no repsonse I emailed her again September 24 and she replied she needed to talk to the manager. After no follow up from Ravyn again, I sent another email September 27 and she said that Andy (manager), Travis and Isiah (tattoo artists) said that deposits are non-reundable. We made these appointments based on information that they could schedule all of us and make the timing work. It's no big deal that they are unable to honor that, mistakes happen! But now 2 of us are out $50 each because of an error on THEIR part. We did not make deposits and simply change our minds. These are extenuating circumstances and not refunding us is bad business, poor customer service, and an awful experience. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. read more

Not impressed. I waited to leave a review and I'm glad I did because initially walking out of the shop I was pleased. I spent close to $900 to get the earrings I wanted my ears pierced with. the problem is that my right earlobe the earrings came out. Yo be fair I returned to the shop and explained what happened. I was only able to find one of the earrings I lost. thlet reinstalled the one earring I had and I had to purchase a new earring (with no discount and I asked) So here is the disappointing part - the very next day the earring they reinstalled came out and was lost. The next week lost the new earring I had to purchase. the reason this is disappointed is they put screws on the back of the earrings so these are not regular earrings. in my opinion they were not installed correctly. I have other piercings and never had that problem. I have since had the earrings installed by another shop and no issues. I found their customer service non helpful. read more

Went in to get a piercing and ended up with two. My girl was kelsi and she was absolutely wonderful.

I've been pierced by both Holly and Dave at the High St. location and they are both amazing! This place is so clean and I've never had any sort of infection in any of my eight piercings from Evolved. It's worth paying a little more for the quality of the jewelry and the service. read more

I've gotten several piercings here (ear lobes, helix, septum, daith, and a snug) and I've always had a good experience (with the exception of my snug, which became embedded because it was pierced too deeply - but this was done by a guest piercer anyways and it was handled well when I came back in to get it checked) Would definitely recommend, especially if you are looking for nicer, artist made jewelry.
