Connie took such good care of my elderly mother, washing and styling her hair, and making her feel comfortable and pampered. Thank you!

Salon 507 - Hair and makeup done

I got married in September of this year and I used Salon 507 for both hair and makeup. It had been…read morea pretty rainy weekend and I was worried about my hair getting all frizzy from the humidity, but the hair stylist, Courtney, did such a great job keeping every hair in place. My hair stayed perfect through the humidity and all night through all of my dancing! My mother and two sisters also had their hair done by courtney and they loved it too! There was a marathon going on that weekend and the road to our venue was going to be closed, but Courtney and her makeup artist made it on time with no problem! Very punctual! I had both hair and makeup done in an hour or so before photos started. Great experience over all, thank you for a great wedding style!!

Also, I was using hair extensions which I've never done before. I emailed Courtney about it and she quickly responded with a very succinct and kind email assuring me she could use the extensions and there wasn't anything to worry about. When you're getting married there are so many questions and moving parts and I cannot tell you how grateful I was that Courtney quickly responded with a reassuring answer (in the form of a short easy to read e-mail) instead of a bunch of questions. It was one less thing I had to worry about. The big day arrived when I pulled up to a house rather than a traditional salon like you'd find in a larger city I was admittedly skeptical. My trepidation began to dissipate with Courtney's kind demeanor and hospitality. Then, Courtney started to work her magic... I cannot begin to describe what an amazing job she did with both my hair and my makeup. My hair was unquestionably my favorite part of my entire look, and that includes my dress, jewelry, and shoes. She asked what I had in mind (which was "kind of a side ponytail cascading down... that's all i gave her). She asked about my dress and the look I was going for and she created something that fit the look PERFECTLY. She just had this vision and made it come to life. To top it off, her makeup artistry was equally great. I cannot recommend Salon 507 enough. The prices were a steal. Courtney was so easy to work with and so kind. You can book online. She kept to the schedule. And, most importantly, she has incredible talent. I cannot stress enough how great my hair and makeup turned out.

I was greeted promptly with a smile. Note - I get really anxious with getting my hair done because I know for a cut and highlights I am going to blow $140 plus ... a chunk of change for me. So I'm a call of nerves asking sheepishly for what I want .. that will hopefully grow out well. Anyway - Cue Kayla (spelling?) Master colorist? I'm easy to please but hard to impress with hair care. Plus the chairs are comfy! Very stinkin happy. Will be back to ask for her! Take a chance and try them out!

The stylist apparently had 20 years of experience, so my daughter went ahead and booked an appointment. At the start of her appointment she discussed with the stylist want she wanted and even showed her a photo of how she wanted it cut, (the photo was her hair from a previous haircut at a different salon). The stylist BUTCHERED her hair. I know some hair stylist will cut curly hair dry, but this stylist didn't even look at her curl pattern she just cut inches off her hair. It looks nothing like the photo she shared when she arrived. She is in tears over this horrendous haircut. All of her beautiful curls are GONE. Definitely will not return and do not recommend this salon.

I eventually agreed to a photo with a minimal bang and followed it up by placing my hand on my head and saying "ok, but I wouldn't want them to here or anything." She proceeded to give me literally half a head of bangs, almost two full inches behind the line I said was already beyond my comfort zone. Right before it was done, I was getting increasingly anxious with the plan and she challenged me with "what is your body saying?" I responded, "it's screaming no..." to which she quickly responded "well, I have a full body yes and I'm gonna go" and seconds later it was done. It wasn't that my communication was unclear and I'm still baffled why I didn't stand up and walk out, I've just NEVER been coerced by a stylist like that before! When I went for a repair haircut the new stylist heard my story and said, "let me guess, an Adeline?" Apparently she is know for this type of behavior, believing herself an artist who knows what you want better than you do. In the week since I've heard from several other's who were treated similarly and felt stunned into submission. I am going to regret visiting her salon for well over a year while this grows out. Pre and two posts. I wish I'd been warned, perhaps I'd have been less stunned into compliance.

Imagine taking Wednesday Addams, tossing her in a blender with Jessica Rabbit, and pouring that gorgeous, badass mixture straight onto my head. The result? Absolute fire. My hairdresser didn't just slap some dye on my head and call it a day. Oh no. This was ART. They took one look at me, saw I was ready to embrace my inner rockstar (or villain--depends on the day, honestly), and turned my wild vision into a reality. They nailed the perfect inky black and deep, sizzling red combo that had me questioning whether I was too hot to be seen in public. We're talking layers of red and black woven together so seamlessly that people might think my hair's literally on fire when I walk by. Subtle? No. Glorious? Absolutely. And the whole experience? Let's just say my hairdresser has the patience of a saint and the sass of a drag queen--they knew exactly how to keep me laughing while wielding enough foil to power a small satellite. If you're looking for someone who knows their way around black-and-red hair like a pro and who'll treat you like royalty (while dishing out some A+ life advice), book here immediately. In short: I came in looking for a change, and I left feeling like a walking goddess of fire and darkness.
