I've been coming to Laura for a few months now and am extremely pleased with the progress that I've made on my journey to healing some deep wounds. I found their website and contacted Laura and was impressed with their seamless intake process and the ability to set up and get automated appointment reminders. They have been extremely flexible and have made it easy to adjust my appointments (which I had to do regularly because of the volatility of my job). They even offered remote sessions which I took advantage of when I traveled away from the Seattle area to work from a new location during COVID lock-downs. Communications with Anchor Light Therapy have always been pleasant, quick, and easy (e-mail, text, or phone). They have a beautiful space with comfortable furniture and a plethora of beverages options that makes it feel more like visiting a friend. Laura has provided caring, empathetic, and judgement-free insights into my problems (like the personal stumbling blocks that I put in my own way and negative self-talk) and helps me come to possible solutions (re-framing my perspective, accepting what cannot be changed, and recognizing why some parts of my life aren't affected but others are). After a session with Laura I look back and realize that my feelings are valid (no one should tell you what to feel - they are your feelings) and that helps me move past triggers with a little more grace each time I encounter them. BONUS: Anchor Light Therapy filed all the necessary paperwork to help me get back some money from the insurance company. I didn't have to do anything other than provide her with my insurance card. I started receiving checks in the mail because of their consistent upkeep with the paperwork filings for each session. I expected that I'd have to pay everything out of pocket and was prepared for that. Anchor Light Therapy truly is a blessing. I would highly recommend visiting Anchor Light Therapy and Laura. Thank you!

I don't normally write reviews but seeing how many negative reviews there are I thought I would add my experience. I'll just be reviewing residential. The Emily Program has saved my life. The staff at the Seattle residential site (from EDTs, to therapists and dietitians, to the AMAZING nurses) are incredible. TEP is very gender and lgbtq+ inclusive; when introducing yourself you always say your name and pronouns and many of the staff themselves use they/them pronouns. The food is decent. You can have your phone on you at all times except during meals and groups (you either put it in your locker beforehand or, like most people, set it on the ground outside by the door). To me that was a huge perk of TEP vs anywhere else; I don't know why other treatment facilities need to take our phones away from us - we're adults. They follow the HAES/all foods fit model, and are exchange based. There are daily walks and yoga. There are six outside breaks to smoke. You can always smoke after lunch and dinner but have to eat breakfast and snacks in order to go outside for those breaks. This is one of my issues. First, there should be a smoke break at 6am, after weights are done. It's really hard for a smoker to wake up at 5:45 and wait two hours for a cigarette. There used to be a smoke break at 6 but they moved it to after breakfast. I don't understand why there can't be both? As a smoker already cutting way back and in a high stress environment, this was really frustrating. My other, and bigger, issue is the lack of seating and ability to find any quiet time for yourself. As an introvert this drove me mad. Rooms are locked after breakfast and unlocked at 7:15pm-ish to get ready for bed. There is one couch in the living room and it fills up quick. There is another couch in "the nook" but when you're level 2 (the starting level) you have to be in line of sight of an EDT and EDTs never go down to the nook to allow for level 2s to sit there. I think more of an effort needs to be made, like EDTs sitting in the nook without being asked, opening up the small group room when the living room is full, perhaps purchasing a small couch for the living room (could go by the door for kitchen supplies), or even allowing patients time in their room to decompress during the day. If you have sensory issues like I do this will be a problem for you. Thankfully the therapists are understanding and can make special allowances like allotted time in small group room or room, but I think TEP needs to be more proactive about this problem. All in all, I think TEP is a great program that saves many lives, mine included. I hope their EDTs are compensated well because they are the heartbeat of the program. I knocked off one star mostly for the lack of care for patients' needs for space, quiet, and even seating, but the morning break thing is also a frustration. But I would absolutely recommend TEP and truly believe they're a notch above similar programs. Also, after seeing a review saying this program is not intensive, I decided to add a photo of the schedule (from October 2020 - they frequently make minor changes so it might not be up to date) so you can decide for yourself how intensive it is. On top of this you get pulled for therapy twice a week, and dietitian and psychiatry appointments once a week.

Last week we scheduled a $25 30-minute consultation. Once we received the confirmation email, there was no information regarding the format of the meeting. Whether it be through telehealth, in-person, or over the phone. When you try calling their phone, they request to email or call them and they will return you call in one business week. I am extremely upset as I never received a return call or email. I received a confirmation email Yesterday (the day before the appointment) 24 hours prior to are appointment. I just received an email, 1h30m prior to our consultation, that our appointment was canceled, giving no reason. When I called to ask why the appointment was canceled, I got the same voicemail of, please leave a message or email us and we will get back to you in one business week. DO NOT bother wasting your time with this establishment. They are completely unprofessional and its clear they do not have any care for new clients.

But hear me out. I'm with the other person here who would have given this zero stars if possible. I went to these guys to get help with a narcissistic relationship, PTSD, and addiction... First appointment we get all the way to the end and the therapist says "I only have availability for two times a month". I think to myself why wouldn't they have said that to begin with... So essentially wasting my time they tried to get me to pay the full price of the next appointment knowing they are the ones who messed up.. I stood my ground (which is hard for me sometimes to do) and told them I want the new appointment at the rate of zero because the other person failed to mention something of that great of importance... They then tried sticking me with someone I didn't want but then eventually got around to giving me someone who actually has availability that I thought might be good for me I should've learned the first time was too many, but I thought I'd be hopeful in getting them to help and giving them a second chance only to run into the same exact problem from last time "well I'm a intern graduate and my rate will increase from 70... USD to 125 per session in September. I said "Why would we get all settled in on the appointment only to have you guys tell me something that you should have told... Me to begin with?" To have her reply to me "I'm sorry you're upset about this" as if I'm the one who should feel guilty for what they did. Then proceeds to tell me "nobody told me that you wanted 4 times per month" Their lack of responsibility shouldn't be my problem. Then says I can get set up with someone else and I interrupted her stating nah I'm not doing that this is the second or third time you guys messed up and I want my money back... By the way. And ended the session. They knew what they were doing and then tries to redirect the blame onto me as if I'm the one who should feel bad about these mistakes? This is the exact behavior I was trying to learn how to fight / fix only to run into a nest of people who are the same way! But they have to be worse because they're in a position to where people are more vulnerable... To treat someone like this when they are the ones who are supposed to help is actually quite sick. I anticipate after calling them out it's going to... Be the whole "well actually he's the patient and we have credentials so therefore we win" sickos.

Lolita is great at what she does. She's professional and honest without being to harsh. You can tell she really knows her stuff. I've seen two therapist prior to this and never felt like we were really getting to the core of the problem I was seeking help for. Working with Lolita is different. I describe it as scrapping burnt cheese off a pan! Therapy isn't always fun, but I'm incredibly grateful that I found a person I can be honest with about the process and I know the not so fun stuff is happening because we're getting to the root of the issue. I feel like working with her is expanding my mind and improving my life with healthier coping skills. If you are considering help, do it. You will never regret that hour a week you dedicate to a healthier mind.

An email is enough. They text randomly on a Sunday morning ask for a Google review. It's really annoying. I don't need to be constantly reminded I'm in therapy. Seriously notification fatigue.
