Mediocre at best. I be been training for 10 years, with the last 4 yrs training 3 days a week…read more(classes, 1 on 1 , and sparring ) and was in two for a day so i thought i would take there level 3 class. Definitely a great place for a beginner who is looking to shed some lbs and is bored of the traditional gym, but definitely not a fight gym. Or if it is a fight gym they need to re evaluate their levels for classes. Very little technique but more about warm up, and cheesey burn out at the end. If the 90 min class maybe 30 min was actual pad work and it was beginner stuff. 3 punch combo with push kick. Would have got a better work out on a heavy bag at a local YMCA.

I was here on Tuesday (Uptown location) for the 6:00 pm class…read more Pros: - Good place for starting off. -There are 3 locations, uptown being the largest. - Punching bags are off to the far side away from where classes take place which is nice. - Change room is clean and there were enough lockers for everyone. - Lot's of room. - At the Downtown location, I was immediately welcomed at the door. - The pace is good for those who are just starting to work out. Cons: - You really do need to buy gloves, even if it's a trial class because the equipment (spare gloves) smells really awful. And no, it's not the smell of sweat, it's a scent that's rather indescribable. - The claim for TKMT is that no one is judgemental however the instructor said I looked horrible. I don't think she meant it to be offensive, but I was embarrassed since the whole Level 1 class turned their heads to look at me. I think the word was just a negative connotation is all. I suggest you bring a friend for the first trial for a comfortable experience.

Good location right on the Danforth means I stuff my face with Greek food after an intense work out. Some days are super hard and others aren't. Depends on who's teaching. Usually an intense workout. The one thing that I LOVED today compared to last time was that their central air conditioning was on. Previously, the AC wasn't turned on and the space quickly turned into a sweat box, so today was much, much better. Again, Andrew led the warm up and conditioning section, and again, it wasn't an overly complicated work out. Seemed less intense than last time however. One thing that I noticed today compared to last time, was that they don't have a lot of dumbbells/kettlebells for the conditioning section. I feel like they should stock more 10, 12.5 and 15 lb weights since those seem to be the most popular. The ones left over always seem to be either 5 lb or 25 lb; as a result, I have to go to the 5 lb one (which is way too light for me) since 25 lb is too heavy. Levi wasn't here today, so Erin taught the beginners (3 of us today, a good sized group). Erin was friendly, and a great teacher (she also does a good Gollum impression watch out). As a studio, they also maintain a good standard of hygiene - immediately after someone cut their foot and blood got on the mats, Erin immediately helped him clean up and bandage his foot. Afterwards, she made sure the mats were properly disinfected before resuming teaching.

Over the relatively short period of time I have been working with them, my boxing skills have improved exponentially which has really helped me as a muay thai fighter. The coaches (Stephan, Carlos, Dmitri and Richie) are all amazing world-class coaches that will help you reach your fitness/athletic aspirations, whether you're an athlete looking to fine tune your boxing technique or you're just looking to lose some weight while doing something fun! The sessions are customized based on your goals and athletic ability/fitness level so you are sure to get a great work out every time. Personally, my favourite thing about Ringfit is that (if you are serious about becoming a boxer) they are very strict about technique. Either you do it correctly or you don't do it at all ;) It has helped improve my footwork and boxing in the ring and they help me get even better after every session. The coaches themselves are great people who are very easy to work with and are really invested in your progress. These guys are former boxing champs so you know you're learning from the best!! Be warned - their workouts are tough! But I promise you will enjoy yourself and if you stick it out, they will help you reach your goals! Highly recommend Ringfit. If you live by the area, definitely give them a try!

I recently started training one-on-one with Stephan and am absolutely obsessed with our sessions…read more Stephan focuses on building up proper technique, strength and cardio which has already improved how I feel after just a few weeks. Stephan's workout will challenge you physically and mentally but he's also well tuned into how much you can handle. He also provides tons of helpful advice on how to maintain your training program outside of the gym. I was reluctant to sign up for personal training because I was worried about being able to fit the training sessions into a busy schedule but Stephan is flexible and easy to book with. The gym has also taken many COVID precautions so I feel completely comfortable visiting in-person. If you're even considering it, book a training session and you won't be disappointed!

Located on the third floor of a building on Bathurst and Queen, it's a short jaunt from the streetcar and bus stop. For warm up, we jump roped for 15 minutes before I learned some fundamental muay thai punches and kicks. The instructor was highly encouraging and offered great direction. The class was a lot of conditioning mixed in with cardio. I was legit, sweating and had a fantastic time. As it was my first time, I have never invested in boxing gloves. There are community boxing gloves available, but I would encourage you to bring your own if you have one, as I had to wash my hands with copious amounts of soap before I was able to get the smell of sweat off my hands. The fees I find are very reasonable. The first trial class being $10, and drop-ins are $25. The gym offers a variety of packages suited for each individual's needs.

The other kick boxing place on Leslie was closed down and I wanted to try kick boxing versus the traditional HIIT boot camps. I'm glad that I did. I was super nervous and anxious doing this all by myself but as soon as I walked in - I was greeted by the coach who went on a first name basis and introduced me to the staff. I was welcomed by the other guests as well. That eased me into the work out. There was a lady - forgot what her name was, she went through each round with me. It was the fastest, sweatiest work out I've done since the lockdown happened and I felt like death but it was so much fun. It was good to get back in shape. It has been a week of going to the classes and I enjoy them. All of the coaches take the time to walk you through each round and sanitizing the stations to keep everyone safe. I loved how I am getting a full body work out while learning how to do kick boxing. I also love the fact that they have early morning classes, everyone is super nice and the coaches are super patient. I thought I was pretty bad in shape and my coordination SUCKS but the coaches really take the time to help you and I really appreciate that. The price of the sessions aren't too bad and I would say it is better than most gyms that I've researched in the area.
