In July, 2013, Brad from Everything Solar came out to give us an estimate on some solar panels for our pool. At that time we expected to be replacing our roof in the next few years. Brad told me that when we decided on the roof, the company would come out and take down the solar panels and then replace them once the roof was completed and it would be free of charge. He said they do that as a one time courtesy and that any subsequent roofs we would have to pay. I remember chuckling at that because who replaces their roof every few years? We signed the contract and had the solar panels installed with Everything Solar. The solar panels did not pass inspection by the city and Everything Solar had to come out and put more screws down to secure everything and on the second inspection, it passed. The solar panels worked as expected for the past 9 years. Several months ago, we noticed some water damage on the ceiling of our upstairs bedrooms. We got several roofing companies to come out and assess the problem. The consensus was that it was finally time to replace our 17 year old roof. It lasted longer than I projected back in 2013 so I'm not upset about that. What I am upset about is that the water damage on our ceiling, the roofers and our insurance company concluded was caused by the solar panels coming loose and water getting in through the holes that no longer had screws securing them. The solar panels were not all secured to the trusses as they should have been in the first place. Today we called Everything Solar to talk to them about the one time courtesy removal that Brad promised (apparently just to make the sale) back in 2013. We were fortunate enough to actually get Brad himself on the phone. He claimed that they offer no such thing and he had no idea who would have promised that to us originally. It was you, Brad. You promised that and it was the reason we decided to sign with your company instead of one of the others we received estimates from. We weren't even complaining about the holes in our roof from improper installation, we were only asking for the removal and reinstallation before and after the roof replacement. The way a company treats it's customers after the sale is far more important than the pie-in-the-sky promises they make before the sale. I'm sorry I gave them my business and now that we are looking for additional solar panels once our roof is completed, Everything Solar will not be a consideration. Buyers beware. read more

WORSE COMPANY I'VE EVER DONE BUSINESS WITH!!! Brad Launs, owner of Everything Solar, comes across as a really nice, honest man, but he's far from that! He tried to sell us a solar system after reviewing our electric bill. I didn't see the benefit or the savings so I said no. Brad kept calling my husband so 8 months later he came back to our house again. This time the system was smaller and cheaper. I asked him right away if the system would be big enough to sustain our house, his answer was, yes, more than enough. The lies are so many, I can't write them all down. We got the system in, it is NOT enough to sustain our house, so now not only do we have a huge electric bill because before we were on a budget plan, but we also have a loan payment for the solar panels for 232.00. We were told our electric bill would be an average of 10 dollars a month, he even showed us his own bill, that's a BIG LIE!! We were told we'd get a rebate from the federal government and that would keep our payment the same amount for the remainder of the loan, that was a big lie. The government can take up to 3 years to send the full rebate, which will cause our loan payment to go up and interest rate to go up as well. Our electric company came out and changed our meter to a business meter to help us out with the costs, that's more than Brad has done to try to help with the situation. We've been back and forth with Brad for 4 months to resolve the problem, he won't do anything about it, he won't return our calls or texts. He tried to bribe us with 6000.00 to keep the panels but we refused. We want the panels off our roof as they're not producing half of the energy we need and we're paying more now than before. He was ready to remove the solar panels but refused to fix our 2 month old brand new roof. We told him he had to fix the roof so he declined to do either one. The stress this has and continues to cause our family is tremendous! Our last resort now is to contact the Attorney General, Better Business Bureau and get a lawyer. Stay away from this guy and his company once he gets his money, he could careless and he's done with you. read more

I have been looking and waiting for years. Just had new roof put on and this was the time. I talked to Brad (owner) for years too trying to decide. He was/is great. Due to roof delay in installation, new German more efficient panels came out. Brad was up on everything and installed the best for me. 10.3 KW system went on with no problems. I like the way he connects the rails to the roof/rafters with a boot around the connector to seal better. Others just screwed in to the roof. Since he has been in business for over 3 decades, he knew exactly what he was talking about and able to explain it to you (not the typical sales person who knows the pitch but not the product). I have solar hot water (a must), solar attic fans, and Brad is re-installing new solar pool panels. You don't want to go with the cheapest (although Brand is very reasonable), and watch out for the "prestigious" names like Tesla. Again, those are commissioned sales people (which you pay a markup to) and not "the main person". Most solar electric installers can't even claim 5 years but Everything Solar can claim over 30 years even through the great recession. Go for a cash deal and you will get a big discount. They can finance, but get a home equity loan to pay cash....you get the big discount and the home equity loan is tax deductible for most. I have NO problem in giving Brad and Everything Solar the top 5 rating. read more
