After viewing all the nail pics on their Instagram I was so juiced to get my nails styled by them ,and even more excited that they are BLACK OWNED. I emphasize because you don't see that too often at all foreal, anyway my sister and my daughter and I all had us a great time getting our nails and toes done , for me its been years ,and for my daughter it was her first time she of course played it very mature and got her rainbow design with a cat face on top , I got my tropical regular set and my sis got her blush pink set up with a butterfly on top, everything was everything until my 1 year old son got tired of being in there and he was upset he couldn't play in the foot baths so he had his usual screaming fit , I'm just very grateful they did not kick us out , they all were very kind and patient. Breastfeeding babies during a manicure is never easy I found my nail spot and I'm coming back , without my baby boy of course. He gone have to stay home with Dad next time. Only regret, I forgot to ask if they do foot massages.. a mom always needs that from time to time

Hands down my favorite place to get my nails done. Everyone is very welcoming the shop is always clean. The sets I ask for and sets I receive exceed my expectations every single time. Ices is absolutely amazing. If you are looking for a nail shop to frequent I would absolutely recommend 10,000 times

I was looking for a black owned nail salon and came across Everything Ruthless. Sasha and Malia are great. It's nice to see women working well with each other. I would definitely recommend this nail salon. And the prices are great as well!!!

Peaches did a fabulous job

It's been almost 8 years since I've had my nails and feet professionally cared for. I reached out…read moreto Smudge Nail Bar via Instagram to see if the salon accepted walk-ins, and to my surprise, they do!!! Usually, I would have made an appointment, but this was a spur-of-the-moment decision on my end. Roberta, the owner, was able to accommodate me, and I'm so glad she did. Smudge Nail Bar is a woman- and Black-owned, non-toxic, eco-friendly salon here in Sacramento that specializes in the care of natural nails. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Oni, the receptionist, who was very pleasant and checked me in for my services. I chose the Bougie Bit*h Gel Mani & Pedi. I was also offered water and rosé. I declined the rosé since I was driving--and I never leave home without my water! The space is so clean, inviting, and beautiful. I loved everything about it, from the live plants to the decor. Tiffany, my nail tech, greeted me and explained that she'd be taking care of both my manicure and pedicure. She also confirmed the services I'd requested and had already prepared my pedicure station. The water temperature was perfect! She recommended a polish brand I'd never heard of before, Chaun Legend, and I'm now in love, lol. My pedicure turned out great. I was given options for my scrub and lotion, and I chose lavender. The hot stones were also a plus! I especially appreciated how much education I received throughout my service because, naturally, I asked lots of questions. The manicure process was completely new to me because I'd never had a dry manicure before. Tiffany explained the process and also let me know that if I ever wanted nail art or wanted to extend my natural nails using gel or Gel-X, those were options. I absolutely love how my manicure turned out. Chatting with the other patrons and staff was the icing on the cake. The checkout process was smooth, and I really appreciated receiving aftercare instructions. Oh--and I got a hug from Roberta, the owner. I love hugs! Hugs heal! So glad we finally made it out of the group chat! If you live in Sacramento or you're visiting the area, give Smudge Nail Bar a call and check them out. You won't regret it! #sacnails #manicure #pedicure #blackownedbusiness #beauty

I also really like how clean and sanity it is. I love the individual brass bowls with liners. You also see someone cleaning up as people are finished. It feels very hygienic and safe. I've had several pedicures by different nail techs and each time it has been amazing. I really like that they cut the nails just how you want. I like them short and at other salons they often don't cut them short enough. The scrubs and amazing. I always walk out feeling so much better than I did when I walked in. I had never gotten builder gel before. I had actually never done anything but regular gel. I love builder gel. It looks and feels great. Leemah is my go to. She's wonderful - easy to talk to and so so talented. My cuticles feel and look great. I was worried about how thick builder gel would look, but Leemah always makes them look natural. (Well better bc of the cute designs!) I recommend Smudge Nail Bar to all of my friends. Make sure you get the mango lotion. It smells so good.

We were in Sacramento for the day shopping for snowboarding gear and making a trip to the Apple…read moreStore, and since we had some extra time, I searched for a nail salon that could squeeze me in for a regular manicure and pedicure. I'm so glad I found Blush Nail & Beauty Bar! First of all, this place is BEAUTIFUL. The salon is spacious, bright, clean and relaxing, and the pedicure chairs are gorgeous and incredibly comfortable. The music was also SO GOOD! They were playing what sounded like 2000s R&B, and it honestly added so much to the whole relaxing atmosphere. I also really appreciated that they had a good selection of regular nail polish. I don't get gel, and not once did anyone question my choice or try to pressure me into upgrading to gel. That alone was refreshing. The original color I picked was very sheer, and I asked if they could put white underneath it. They explained that doing that could make it look streaky and recommended choosing another color instead. I didn't end up with the exact color I originally wanted, but I appreciated them explaining why rather than doing something they didn't think would turn out well. I still really like the soft color I ended up with. I chose their least expensive manicure and pedicure package, and I was honestly surprised by how much was included. The pedicure was wonderful -- probably the best foot massage I've ever had. It was so relaxing I was practically falling asleep! It even included paraffin wax. My manicure technician was wonderful too. She gave a great massage and was very gentle and patient with my cuticles. I can get nervous when my cuticles are pushed back and trimmed, and I felt completely comfortable here. Everyone I interacted with was pleasant, patient and welcoming. They also offer complimentary mimosas, wine and beer. I chose an ice water, and even that was delicious and refreshing. Overall, this was such a nice unexpected find during our Sacramento day. Beautiful salon, comfortable chairs, amazing music, great massages, friendly staff, regular polish without the gel pressure, and a genuinely relaxing experience. I would absolutely come here again the next time I'm in Sacramento

I scheduled a visit a few days in advance for three people and four services and paid an $80 deposit ($20 per service) via Venmo. One person canceled that morning, but I was able to switch to a different service for myself that same day vs. losing my deposit. The two pedicures were fine. They were basic pedicures, and aside from the water initially being extremely hot, I was happy with the results. Because of the deposit, there was also no wait time. The head spa, however, was a completely different experience. This was my first head spa, so I was excited and expected it to be relaxing. Unfortunately, it was anything but. The massage was brief, and despite the menu stating that oils would be used, none were applied. During the double cleanse, the technician used her fingernails rather than her fingertips, which became painful. There was also an excessive amount of cleanser, and rinsing it out was difficult. The water temperature was extremely inconsistent--going from hot to ice cold--and water got into my ear. Instead of feeling relaxed, I was uncomfortable throughout the service. Afterward, my hair was not completely dry. When I asked for serum, I was told it had already been applied, and I had to explain that I wanted my hair fully dried and soft. Another staff member eventually finished drying it, and the end result was much better. The two services totaled $138, or $158 with a 15% tip. I shared all of this feedback with the front desk before leaving. They were receptive and said they would provide additional training. I was also told that the technician was new to the salon and has some communication issues. I appreciate that they listened to my concerns, but based on my head-spa experience, I would not return for that service. *********************************************************** FINAL THOUGHTS Making a reservation requires a deposit, but it does give you priority if there's a wait. PRO TIP: I visited on a Saturday around noon, and it wasn't busy at all. If you're coming in solo, you can probably skip the reservation and deposit. I've had two pedicures here, and the service was totally fine. No issues at all. I also clearly saw the technicians using Barbicide to disinfect their metal tools, although I didn't pay attention to where they pulled the drill bits from. Overall, the salon is CLEAN, which I really appreciate. Personally, I wouldn't get a head spa treatment here again. I was told they're having plumbing issues because the building is old and that their plumber hasn't been able to resolve the problem. However, based on my experience, I feel some of the issues were related to the technician and not just the plumbing. That said, I'd love to hear from others who have had a head spa here. How was your experience with the water temperature? Did you have a better experience with a different technician? I'd genuinely be curious to know!

I feel like kids would absolutely have a blast with this service. I chose orange scent for the scrub and mask and they have 5 flavors to choose from. I don't know if I can go back to regular water after this because the jelly seriously made a difference for me while one foot was in the spa and the other was getting worked on. Came in the morning on a Monday and service was immediate. Even if I were to have to wait I would just go to the nearby stores like Michael's or Nike clearance store. Since I was a walk-in and wanted to get my nails done, I agreed to add gel as well. The only positive thing I can say is that the manicure tools came in a sealed, sterilized package. Unfortunately, the rest of my experience was very disappointing. The towel on the table was clearly not clean or fresh. I expected a clean towel for every customer, not one that appeared to have already been used for someone else. I had removed my acrylic nails a few months ago and had not had a manicure in a long time, so my cuticles were hard. Instead of using a cuticle softener or allowing my hands to soak long enough to soften them, she forcefully pulled at my cuticles. It was painful and very uncomfortable. Her customer service was very poor. She handled my hands very roughly, almost tossing my fingers from one side to the other. Throughout the appointment, I remained polite, but she made no effort to be friendly or provide good customer service. The worst part happened at the end. My hands were covered with nail dust, but instead of properly cleaning them or wiping them with a warm towel like other salons usually do, she applied lotion directly over the dust. I could clearly feel the particles being rubbed into my hands, which was very unpleasant. She did not even ask me to remove my watch and continued moving my lotion-covered hands back and forth over my watch. At the end, I paid in cash. While counting the money, she said, "Let me see," as if she was checking whether I had paid correctly. Because I was unhappy with the service, I decided not to leave a tip. She then loudly repeated, "No tip? No tip?" in front of everyone there. I found this behavior extremely unprofessional and embarrassing. Overall, this was a very unpleasant experience. Because of the rough treatment, poor service, lack of professionalism, and inappropriate comments about tipping, I cannot recommend this nail technician.
