It was my first real intro to this world, and honestly, it launched me into the practices that are now just... my life. So yes, Vision Quest and I go way back. Then, like any long-term relationship, the shine wore off. I started hearing whispers in school about them not clearing the space, and once I noticed it myself, the vibe felt a little off. Combine that with discovering other shops that had better prices and fresh energy? Yeah, I strayed. Cut to tonight: my go-to WooWoo dealer (aka my favorite candle spot) was CLOSED. Dire situation. My altar was looking at me like, "You really gonna let me go dark?" So, I dragged myself over to Vision Quest. And you know what? The whole vibe felt different... lighter, fresher, like someone saged the place within an inch of its life. I actually caught myself thinking, "Wait, why did I stop coming here again?" Candles acquired. Yes, they were a whopping 50¢ instead of my usual 30¢ (so, call me thrifty), and the wax felt like it came from a slightly less fancy bee or paraffin farm. But in an emergency? Totally did the job. And so, Vision Quest is like that ex you bump into years later and think, "Huh... maybe they got their act together." I may not be back every week, but I'm definitely glad it's still around when the WooWoo emergencies hit.

This place is a treasure trove of metaphysical goodness, crystals, insence, candles, oracle cards, books, soaps, lotions, oils, sprays, you name it, they've got it (and if they don't, I trust they'll know where to send you). Their apothecary line is one of my favorites, I'm obsessed with the "Bug Off" spray during the season, and their "Cleanse & Protect," "Love," and "Luck" sprays and oils are staples in my spiritual toolkit. Fantasia Crystals is family-run, and the energy here reflects that every interaction I've had has been warm, kind, and helpful. Niyoola and I discuss how we have seen black businesses in this row, come and thrive and some that don't make it which breaks my heart! I really wish that more humans would support small businesses and help them to grow because most of them have great products! These black businesses are professional and there is no odd behavior ourside of these premises, which makes you feel safe going into them. Respectful community for sure!!! In this case, I personally don't feel as if, this row of black owned businesses are advertised enough! There's also room to add more businesses on this row! Hey Barbershops. Laundromats with a bar inside of it, popcorn and candy shops, ice cream shop, beauty shops, wedding stores, tuxedo stores, shoe stores, nail shops.... there's room! We went here during it's first Fridays events of black owned businesses and had a great time checking out the many vendors on the street as well as, inside of their brick and mortar. The woman working there was very kind and let me wander without any pressure (major bonus). I thought I knew my stones, but they had a few I'd never seen before and was definitely intrigued. Today was not the day for new crystal friendships... but I may be back if they're still there. Limited incense selection, solid colored candle options, plenty of stones at reasonable prices. The southeast Asian style clothing is cute, but also of mass produced quality with snagged and flimsy fabric. The merchandise is cute, but simply not worth the price when it will break before you even get it home. The customer service is completely nonexistent. The only thing this store has going for it is the clean display. Nothing about this place remotely represents the hippie movement of the 70s. Everything is based on Southeast Asian stereotypes, or marketed toward New Age fads. I love a good tarot deck, but I can shop for that in a metaphysical store.
