I acknowledge that your local game store is going to pull all sorts of demographics. As a parent, I didn't know what to expect bringing my 5-year-old into the local game shop. But this is definitely going to be a local store that we'll be going to a lot more, even if the prices are a little higher for them to make margins. This is the kind of game store I want in keep in our community! I'll admit I was a little apprehensive to engage with the staff at first due to my inexperience in this kind of envitonmemt, but my kid immediately gravitated toward the Pokemon cards behind the glass counter and we were asked if there was anything we needed help with. We have been looking all over for affordable, genuine cards to little avail. Unfortunately, the cards at this shop were all way outside our range (he's just trying to get started out): $45+ booster boxes or $5+ individual cards. We were obviously not going to be able to make a purchase today (looking for something like one $5 booster pack) but the team member was very helpful taking the time to explain the kids trading card market, suggest other places to look, offer advice on finding affordable cards, and let my kid take his time to pour over the cards behind the counter. On the way out, he generously shared a simple gift that meant so much for my kid. I don't know if he'll read this but thank you so much for making my kid's day - he was over the moon to have some Pokemon cards of his own to share with his friends at school. This is the kind of local game store that is a treasure to have in the community. I definitely will be bringing my kids around in the future to support it some more! Thanks again! read more

After having Sunday brunch nearby I was looking for video game stores to stop at on my way back to Wisconsin. Everything Games was close by and open, so I drove over to check them out. The store is impressive. They have an awesome selection of retro video games, board games, LEGO, miniatures for Warhammer, anime related plush, sports cards, and card games like Magic, Pokemon, and Yu-Gi-Oh. There's even a good size gaming area where I saw people playing in a card game tournament. As good as the inventory was, their customer service was even better. A specific video game I wanted was priced $10 more than the current market value, so I brought that to their attention. Rather than getting mad and arguing with me about their prices, the employee pulled up the same website I was using for a reference and confirmed what I was seeing. He then adjusted the price without hesitation. Now that's customer service. I would glad to go out of my way to come back to Everything Games next time I'm in the Chicago area. read more

I brought in $2500 worth of common games (no sports unless a few cartridges) and some boxed NES stuff I was offered $350 ive been in the parking lot trying to process that I wasn't expecting a crazy number but that offer is borderline disrespectful On top of that the items they have in store were inflated by 20%-40% Staff was nice but i dont think that matters if they're offering less than 15% of market value STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!!! read more

One of the best spots in the Chicagoland area for classic video games! I had bought a Pac-Man Game Boy cartridge from Everything Games, but after a couple months, it didn't work. I brought it back, and the team went above and beyond trying to fix it. When it turned out it couldn't be repaired, they offered a fair trade for a working Game Boy Advance game instead. They also gave me a great deal on Donkey Kong and even helped me find a case to store my games. They really took the time to make it right, and their customer service was excellent. A must-visit for retro gaming fans! read more

Abysmal selection, shady 40% cash policy, unclear rationale as to why my pristine cards need to be taken to the back for price checking when you have a laptop right in front of you. They make GameStop look like saints. Unless you play Tcgs and cannot travel more than 10 miles from Buffalo Grove, stay away and your wallet will thank you. read more

Very friendly workers there, atmosphere is incredible. I've been going to this place several times already. They have locals here for numerous card games like YuGiOh, Pokémon, and One Piece. They also have an abundance of video games, board games, Warhammer figurines, and of course the card packs and boxes. Whether you'd like to try to play a card game or just simply buying, this place is a must stop. read more

Service was cool and attended well. They got a huge selection. From Gundam to games to TCG. Well worth the visit.

Huge storefront with room to grow so that's a plus. I hope they find more niche's to sell in. They had some cool video game things like a Mortal Kombat arcade controller and X Arcade with trackball for a good price though I stopped myself from buying both somehow. Kewl place, not bad. Something to do. read more

!TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Sold me two used PS4 controllers, said I could return within seven days if one did not work. Turns out one did NOT work, I went the next day and the Owner REFUSED to refund. This place sells card games like Magic, they have NO Business in the gaming industry. Everything they have is USED. Karma like this will make this so called business go BANKRUPT!!! This guy better not contact me back asking me to call them; that's PURE BS!!! The son is OK, father is a total LOSER! read more

Really enjoyed shopping here, even though most things are overpriced and the owner is rude, though Cody was a nice dude to deal with. I've purchased quite a lot of older games here over the last few months, often walking away with $200+ of goods. Now I'm being accused of something I'm not even clear about because I've had to return 4 items of 50+ because they did not work correctly. Apparently I'm not "allowed" to shop here now, so proceed with caution. You may have legitimate trouble with some items they decide to sell, but don't have too many or they'll refuse you, too. read more

Location needs to update their physical address. They're not across from the Wendy's, they're next to the Mariano's (still the same strip mall). Also the Google q&a and their website are inaccurate - they currently aren't accepting Magic the Gathering trading cards. Complete let down which could have been avoided with accurate information. read more

A odd place a sort of shot gun spread of cards and games, prices are relatively high on most things, staff is not very knowledgeable. I can't really recommend this for one person over the other. I guess if you are just looking for place to meet friends or play tournaments it's good for magic but beyond that I wouldn't recommend it. read more

DO NOT EVER go to this guy, especially if you're trying to sell anything. I know you can't expect to get anywhere near the actual value when you sell to a shop like this but this guy is a joke. I've done my research and I know what I could get for my Pokemon collection if I take the time to sell them one by one by myself. But I really don't want to do that so I figured I'd see what this shop would give me. The guy looked over the cards, told me I had an impressive collection, and offered me $900. Wasn't what I was expecting so I said no and left. I then sold the most valuable card I had on Ebay. Messaged the guy at this shop and told him that one card was gone, what would the value of my collection be? He said $800 but he'd have to take a look at them again. Sold the card for $305 on ebay so losing $100 on the full collection isn't bad. So I drove the 20 minutes back to the shop just 2 weeks after I was there the first time. Same exact collection, missing the one card I told him was gone. He spent a half hour looking over the full collection again and then asked if I was sure there was only one card gone. Yes, I'm sure. He offered me only $300 this time. One card gone, and he told me he'd only take $100 off, so he got me to come back in and then he took 600 off! I was obviously not happy at all and he decided to tell me "well maybe you should have taken the $900 last time". I definitely didn't appreciate his comment. When I pushed for how the hell he came down $600 he told me well maybe he messed up last time. I don't believe he ever had any intention of giving me anything close to the $800 he said he would. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! read more

great place they have everything friendly staff that is helpful. go there you will like it

So we drove 38 minutes to get to this place after calling to see if they had a specific miniature for dungeons and dragons given the response of " I don't know come look" and " we have hundreds" I was intrigued so me and my wife went and to our surprise it was bare bones maybe 30 different miniatures for dungeons and dragons. One of the employees was nice and helpful the other that I saw that I assume answered the phone was at the computer "working " I'm sure. I wouldn't recommend giving a business money if they are unwilling to provide knowledge or effort to you.this store did not get any of my money and likely never will. The store also didn't have any prices on there product either read more

My kids and I discovered this store right before the holidays and could not be happier. Cody and the Everything Games crew are warm, welcoming, and foster a friendly environment that welcomes all types of collectors, new and experienced alike. I would absolutely recommend this place for anyone! read more

The guy working was not very helpful nor informative. No customers in the store but yet he was in a rush to get me out. Do not come here for Pokemon cards. I've collected for over 20yrs and coming to this place was a waste of my time. He looked more interested in watching Star Trek Generations playing in the back. Thanks for making a first time customer, a last time customer. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!!! If I could give zero olI would! The owner's son, Cody, is a total jerk and does not care at all about the customers. My little 10 year old decided to use his allowance money here instead of Target to buy his pokemon cards in an effort to support small businesses. When he got home, he opened the set of cards and there were only 5 packs though it promised 7 on the box. He was so upset and felt he got scammed, so my husband and I encouraged him to call the store and let the salesperson know. The salesperson gave the phone to Cody, the owners son. My son explained his dismay and the owner said there was nothing he could do about it. He was very short with my son and my son hung up because he was taken off guard. My husband called back and very respectfully asked if there was something he could do to take care of the situation. Cody blamed it on the manufacturer, told us to call them and basically wrote us off. My husband said, in a respectable tone(mind you he was on speaker and my 10 and 11 year old were listening) if this were my business, I'd tell the customer to come in and I'd give them a pack or two to make up for the shortage, because we all know customer satisfaction helps a business thrive. He even went on to use Abt electronics as an example, because they are incredible at handling customers and were once a very small business. The owner told my husband in a very stern and harshl voice that he would have helped us out, but because he's telling him how to run his business, he won't. He slammed down the phone and that was it! My 10 and 11 year old were shocked and they got a HUGE lesson from us on how to run a business successfully and to always put the customer first. My guess is that they are not doing well... I mean, come on, you can't give a kid a pack of pokemon cards to make him feel a little better? Please!!! Don't go here. Might be a place to get cards, but if something goes wrong, you're out of luck. Never had this issue at GameStop Target We will be taking our business elsewhere. read more

My son and I had gone 2 times before and it was a good visit and we were helped and were happy with the service. But the 3 time we encountered the owner! We had a psp battery to return it was defective and would not read in the device. The Owner Did not believe me and had to check. He could not take to cover of the other psp so he asked his employee to do it. And it did not work so he had to refund the money he acted like he did not want to part the $20.00 dollars. He was very condensing, and I had asked him his name and he threated to call the cops if I did not leave. I would never shop at this store! The owner does not know any customer service skills and has very little personal skills! If you Dare to go AVOID the OWNER!! He is A tall pair shaped man and has on a Everything Games collared shirt! read more

Stopped in here recently on Friday night with a friend that was looking for Pokémon cards. Owner was very distant and not very helpful. It felt like we were getting rushed to make the purchase and get out. There was a casual MTG tourney going on, but there was still 30 minutes left on the clock. I understand that an event is important, but gaining a potential new customer should be a priority (in my opinion). Most likely won't be going here again. read more

The owner was really nice. I went strictly for video games and they had a decent selection of games. the prices were very fair i thought and there were some deals slightly below market value. its nice to know i have a local store for retro video games now read more

It's an independent game shop that sells board games, trading cards (like Yugioh, Magic, and Pokemon), and other gaming accessories. They also buy cards, but I'm not sure how that works. The owner is really friendly and makes lots of suggestions if you're not sure what you want to buy from the overwhelmingly large selection. I've never seen some of the games they sell, but they do look very fun! I went with a friend on different occasions to browse their selection and left very satisfied. I bought a lovely Dungeons and Dragon map pack and my friend got a Star Trek game. Both are very useful and entertaining for hours. They're very friendly towards gamers and fandom communities (My Little Pony, Star Wars, Star Trek, etc) and have weekly events. For those who want to see a game in action before buying, I suggest checking out Board Game Night (on Wednesdays). Otherwise, they have your standard MTG, Pokemon, YGO card tournaments and game days. And if you're into RPG, they host a Pathfinder Society on Sundays. I noticed they also sell drinks and snacks in case you're there for an extended amount of time playing games. read more

My husband and I went there to buy pokemon cards. We about 30 or so packs. My husband I have never been there before and were worried that the could be a scam. But we were very happy. After opening all the packs we got all the foils and 2 ultra rare full art foils we suppose to get as if we bought a sealed box. Would shop again! read more

These guys are great! Owner is a super nice and welcoming guy! As someone new to the hobby (Warhammer 40k) it is always important to me that the staff is helpful and welcoming. Their pricing for all games workshop stuff is very good. Nice discount. They also carry a wide range of board games, dice, books, and other gaming supplies. Whenever I'm in the area I always like to stop in even if I don't need anything! read more
