I've been to Everyman Theatre twice now (last year for Dial M for Murder and this past weekend for POTUS). Both shows were great. I love that they have a resident ensemble of actors and that their performances are so local (the sets are made locally, the cast is local). And the theater itself is great - small-ish, intimate, short lines for the bar, enough bathrooms for the size theater, and so on! I don't love its location - not many bar or restaurant options for dinner before or drinks after a performance. But there is street parking or garages nearby (I typically Lyft to the theater). Definitely a great, very local theater to support in Baltimore. We're lucky to have it. Check it out!

This was my first time at the Everyman Theatre. I usually patron a nearby theater that has Broadway Across America shows, but I find it uncomfortable in terms of seating and stairs, etc. This theatre was very comfortable! It was easily accessible on Fayette Street with several parking garage and street parking options, had a quaint lobby with a bar, and ample seating in the theatre itself which was climate controlled and had plenty of leg room. It's a more intimate space so every seat in there had a good view of the stage. I saw The Book Club Play which was very good. Lots of laughs. The resident actors were fantastic and the set design was impressive (and built onsite). The lobby bar was fully stocked and offered several The Book Club Play themed cocktails. I will definitely start coming here for theater. Such a great introduction!

Went to see Dial M for Murder here last night and loved it! Very nice theatre and layout. Just like the other reviews said it's an intimate theatre and every seat seems to have a great view! The seats are comfortable and spacious, especially for larger and/or tall attendees. Restrooms are clean. Staff here are great! The play itself kept me on my toes! The acting was amazing too! There is a convenient parking garage across the street as well as some street parking. Truly blown away that we plan to continue to support and patron this Baltimore gem!

Really cool experience for my first time here! Got tickets for the Dial M For Murder show happening right now and it was beyond what I was expecting. The theatre itself is so nice I don't think there's such a thing as a bad seat in that room. Would recommend this place to anyone!

I attended after an invite from a peer. I am currently teaching a class on "grief and loss" and gave extra credit to students who attended. The play was GREAT! I truly enjoyed it. My review is for the theatre. My wife and I purchased beverages and nuts as a snack during the show. I was approached by a rude usher asking me not to eat. I responded that I had just purchased the nuts from the theatre. She persisted. I did not want to become a distraction so I simply put the snack away. Here's my feedback. DO NOT SELL FOOD IF CANNOT BE EATEN DURING THE SHOW!!! I won't be back and plan to share my dissatisfaction with others.

    Do see it!

I visited this past weekend (thanks Yelp Elite manager!) and am thrilled I did so. The place reminds me of NYC's Second Stage Theatre. The space is industrial (think concrete), which IMO is perfect bc is makes the stage set prominent. Seating: the stadium seating means that every seat is a good one. I sat in the lower half of the upper section and will choose the same next visit. Also, the plays here seem very smart (The Importance of Being Earnest; Lynn Nottage's Sweat which won-and deserves-a Pulitzer.... ). I look forward to visiting again. Parking: there is the Atrium across the road or a couple cheaper ones (save $2) around the block.

We were thrilled to get tickets from Sun Insider to Everyman Theater to see "Murder on the Orient Express." All Aboard! This was a striking whodunnit that with a lot of twists and turns. The play was adapted by Ken Ludwig, who was picked by the Agatha Christie estate to write this first stage adaptation of the British writer's famous page-turner. Here is the set up - a crime is committed and someone on the train has done it. What makes it interesting is that everyone on board has an alibi, but also has a reason to kill. Luckily, there is an expert investigator on board to solve the crime. We were amazed as we felt like we were on the train. The set designs were just that incredible. They somehow managed to create the space to represent the interiors and exteriors of train compartments, hallways, and lounge cars, in addition to a café in Istanbul. The lighting and sound only added to the suspense of the story. To see everyone fashionably dressed in 1930's couture was really interesting as well. You had to be quick to catch the humor that was interspersed through the performance. We were delighted to have had the opportunity to see this wonderful performance.

We've also been able to attend their David Lynch celebration Wonderful and Strange: A David Lynch Appreciation Festival which was one of the most interesting and lovingly crafted events related to Lynch or any director that I have ever experienced. Bottle Episodes was another great monthly event they ran which featured their awesome group of performers acting out television shows, I only hope one day they'll return as seeing shows like Unsolved Mysteries and GI Joe get acted out this way was extremely fun. The theater isn't huge but does have a clean bathroom and excellent setup for visual effects via projection. There is a lot of passion that goes into the playwriting, acting and musical performances at the Mercury Theater and it's a venue that helps define art in Baltimore.

The theater is beautiful - very comfortable and intimate - not a bad seat in the house. They have a couple of bars and some seating areas, which made for an enjoyable intermission. My only (very small) complaint about the theater is that it was hard to find the bathrooms, and we waited a while, because the one women's room we found was a single stall bathroom. I think there was a larger women's room somewhere, but we didn't find it! The play was interesting - I'd never seen a theater adaptation of a Jane Austen novel, and the adaptation was interesting and some of the actors were really great. We had a great time. I was surprised to see and learn that not all of the Company's performances are of Shakespeare - later this season, they have August Wilson's Fences (part of the Baltimore August Wilson Celebration), Shakespeare's The Tempest, A Christmas Carol, and Shakespeare's The Tale of Cymbeline (performed outdoors in Ellicott City). I'll happily return for another performance!
