    Patty Speirs is an absolute DYNAMO. She planned our March 2024 wedding and I can't imagine it being as magical and as perfect as it was without her. From inception to the big day, Patty was prompt, efficient, assertive and an absolute pleasure to work with. If I had 10 Patty's on my staff at work, this place would be spinning like a top! Patty's fee was covered multiple times over in what she saved my husband and I in our personal time and vendor savings through her connections. Every vendor she recommended was exceptional. Every detail/special request I made was met. Patty also had great recommendations on lighting, music, flowers and décor - the small things I hadn't considered that make a big impact. Patty updated me on planning status regularly and even sent vendor payment reminders before the due date. She set up and attended all our vendor calls. She made timelines and handled all vendor communication. The most impressive was her kind personality. She rallied all the family for photos, tied up a shawl for my little flower girl and herded my four nephews in the wedding party. She went above and beyond - even my family loved her. Every Last Detail is AMAZING. I'd highly recommend Patty and her team. Thanks again Patty! We love you!

    Patty and her team at ELD deserve the HUGEST thank you for helping coordinate our wedding day and the run up to it to make sure everything went offer better than we could have imagined! From helping us select and book outstanding vendors to managing timelines and orchestrating the entire day, it was clear that she had our and our guests' best interests in mind at every step. As a couple we were constantly telling each other that we would not have a wedding if it weren't for Patty & team. We could not have done it without her!     When I first got engaged, my friends and family members regaled horror stories about how difficult it was to plan their own weddings. As a busy woman with a full-time career, I knew I couldn't handle figuring out my wedding on my own, and I needed a professional. I'm happy to say that, after choosing Patty at Every Last Detail, wedding planning was actually a fun, joyous experience! Pre-Patty, my then-fiancé and I were overwhelmed by the hundreds of micro-decisions and details we were facing about our destination wedding choice at Carmel Valley Ranch--what's a good price for a florist? Where do we find a live band? How can we ensure COVID doesn't utterly dismantle our wedding?! But after we had our initial call with Patty for her Full Wedding package, we felt immediately at ease. For starters, I was a bride who didn't really have a 'vision' for my wedding. No pinterest boards, no 'dream wedding,' nothing of that sort. I told Patty that I just wanted a beautiful wedding that will make my guests happy, and she was able to pull out of me some basic ideas about what I cared most about and offer me a small, focused selection of vendors based on what was most important to me. She made every meeting with herself and the vendors meaningful and exciting, and while Patty kept me informed of the behind-the-scenes work, I never had to worry about the little details. I was looking more and more forward to the big day. Speaking of the big day, my wedding was absolutely magical. Patty and Carol were flawless! Dozens of my guests came up to me raving about how this was the best wedding they've ever attended. If you're looking for a wedding planner in the Carmel/Monterey region, there is no one better than Patty. She is a seasoned veteran in the wedding planning business, and you will be in safe hands. P.S. We also came under budget for our gorgeous wedding. Can't get better than that!

    We hired Patty at ELD to plan our wedding in 2023. We are not from Monterey, so Patty's knowledge of reputable vendors and great options for value/cost in the local area was priceless. Every vendor she suggested was fabulous, and I appreciated the range of options she provided. She's also very enthusiastic about incorporating your ideas and does not try to force you into a "cookie cutter" event, which I appreciated. Our event turned out wonderfully, despite some weather hiccups, and the experience was much better because we had hired Patty. I was initially hesitant about hiring a planner, but in the end our wedding experience was much more enjoyable having the ELD team in charge.

    Patty and Carol are 2 amazing humans! They have an amazing personalities, they are VERY professional, and they make sure your big day is the best day of your life :) We live in Hawaii, and while we have planners here they always took forever to respond or just didn't seem like they really care too much. More of like "its my job" kinda people. So I contacted Patty and she got back to me in a timely manner, we spoke on the phone and went over the details and what I wanted in a planner. She agreed she was able to do everything I needed and more! She was in Hawaii on Vacation and met with me anyway to go over somethings!! Fast forward to the wedding- Patty and Carol both did an AMAZING job! They made sure everything was the way we wanted, and that things went in the order we requested and more! There's so much random little details that you don't realize you need! And Patty helps with that, and make sure you get everything you need before the big day! They even had to deal with my crazy dramatic family and I'm sure some friends too! Lol you know how some family members think it's their wedding all of a sudden and it has to be done the way they want it?!     I don't even know where to begin with this woman...Words cannot express how helpful Patty was throughout the year we took planning my dream wedding. She was referred to be by a good friend of mine who also hired her to plan a perfect wedding. First and foremost I want you all to know that I'm a complete control freak and have a certain way of doing everything up to my standards. I met with Patty on a few occasions and she basically made me feel like she could handle it all and I was not to worry or stress about a thing. I described my vision to her and she got to it. She contacted all the vendors and requested quotes. She found me options and never pushed me once in a certain direction but definitely found me the best of the best! She created timelines for us, vendor info, listed balances that were due and when. Sh just went above and beyond for us. There was never a question in my mind as to whether this could all be pulled off or not. This isn't just her job, but it's her passion and it clearly shows. The wedding day was so chaotic and with a million people but each detail and request I had, was taken care of and the day went perfectly. I couldn't be happier with my beautiful celebration and how smoothly it ran. She arranged a limo to take us back to the resort at the end of the night and went out of her way to load each and every item I owned, including our gifts, cards and any decor we owned, into my car, then drove it over to drop off at our resort. I could spend all day going into EVERY LAST DETAIL of what she did for us but overall, but that's her job :) WE couldn't be happier to have hired her and would do it again in a heartbeat! It's obvious we love throwing parties and will definitely use Patty each and every time!!!!

    This review is long overdue. Quite frankly I thought I already did it. And that's just the thing about weddings, so much is happening and parts of the big day are like a blur. I went into my wedding planning as a kind of a control freak only wanting help the day of. Boy I have learned the true value a great wedding planning like Patty can offer. In retrospect I should've trusted her with my vision and I hired her to do it all. This was my first big event. I quickly realized trying to plan it on my own became like a second job. It made what started off fun stressful at times. Luckily Patty's day of wedding package actually begins about 1-2 months earlier. This was at her recommendation and it made complete sense. How can you really develop a trusted relationship with anyone that quickly and get them all the info they need to manage effectively with limited time? I interviewed 2 other planners before Patty and what I realized I needed was someone who had the experience, knew local vendors, and had a strong backbone to keep everyone (including guests) in check during my big event. The primary reasons I choose Patty. Her sidekick Carol is super sweet. I remember right before coming out for my First Look, Carol and Patty told me to take off my heels. I was kind of like ok, why. They bent down and started putting Vaseline around my toes to ensure I didn't end up with blisters for my upcoming night that would be sure to include lots of dancing. It's those kind of little details that made a big difference on how my night went. You want a planner that is thinking about every last detail for sure. You only get one wedding (hopefully- lol), so why not make it the most stress free best event ever with the help of an experienced savvy team like Patty and Carol to make that possible. Highly recommended. You don't want the wedding planner that is a "yes ma'am" kind of person. You want someone that is going to tell you the truth and offer solutions to problems. Not someone who is only going to tell you what you want to hear. Patty will give you just that.

    As a wedding planner and coordinator myself, I had very high expectations of my coordinator. Patty exceeded my expectations in every way. It was amazing having her on my wedding planning team. She made my entire wedding experience better than I had expected. Thanks to Patty, my husband and I had the most beautiful, relaxing, and easy-flowing wedding! Even though we hired her for just day-of coordination, she went above and beyond her duties, and met with us about five times total prior to the big day. We did a DIY wedding, Shabby Chic themed (thanks Pinterest), and we couldn't have been more happy with the way that Kathy carried out our vision. We received so many rave reviews about our wedding. Kathy made sure that all of the vendors were kept informed about the day-of activities and ensured that they arrived and set-up properly. Kathy and her staff set everything else up, from the chairs, to the tables, to the decorations. She then kept everything on track for the day to make sure we concluded we had plenty of time for dancing at the end. Oh, and they best part? Her prices were, hands down, the best value for the services we found (and we contacted at least half a dozen places). If you're planning a wedding, and you want it to be stress free, we absolutely recommend Kathy.

My wife has been friends with Mariah since middle school, and she knew she wanted Mariah to be involved in our wedding planning when we chose to get married in Carmel. Originally we hired Mariah as our month-of coordinator, but it quickly became apparent that we needed her expert help navigating everything about a year out. She really does think of everything! Given that she grew up in Big Sur she has tremendous knowledge of the local vendors, venues and just all around logistics of the central coast. I share this detail not only to highlight how this will streamline your planning process but to assure you that your celebration will organically be infused with the down-to-earth, warm quality that draws so many of us to Big Sur--a feeling that can easily get lost in the pursuit of a Pinterest-perfect event. When I struggled to find local hair and makeup artists who had the experience and tools to accommodate me as a Black bride, Mariah didn't hesitate to connect me with contacts from her network so I could find a perfect match (Rhonda Johnson Bridal Makeup and Hair). When I was struggling to find a gluten-free cutting cake for our reception, she sent me the information for several local, family-owned gluten-free businesses (Nece's GF). When we were curious about working with a calligrapher, she connected us with her family friend Anna Bouchard. When we were exploring local options for a farewell brunch following the wedding, she personally introduced us to the owners of Alta Bakery and Cafe in Monterey. And the list goes on! She made sure that Mike, the owner of Big Sur Bakery, could meet with us during one of our scheduled in-person consults to discuss any questions or concerns we had ahead of our event. We got to learn more about the history of the restaurant or share what it meant to our relationship. She ordered us a copy of the restaurant's published cookbook to use as our guestbook; it is such a unique artifact that is both beautiful and functional (every time we open the book to use new recipes, we are greeted with all of the sweet notes from our loved ones). I know it's typical for people to warn couples that something WILL go wrong on their wedding day to manage their expectations, but we truly cannot think of a single thing that didn't go to plan during our celebration, thanks to the stellar coordinating done by Mariah. Our day was stress-free, joy-filled, and EASY. Beyond that, it was incredibly aesthetically gorgeous because all of the vendors were able to show up and bring their absolute best service due to all the coordination with Mariah behind the scenes. It was really important to us that we could trust that our vendors would create a vision of Big Sur that captured all of the elements things we love most about the environment without us having to be prescriptive or overly particular about how everything came together. The result completely exceeded our expectations and felt so authentic to us as a couple. Other notes: I live with both type 1 diabetes and celiac disease and Mariah went above and beyond to make sure that our food/drink menu could offer me options I'd be excited about. She built a wedding day timeline that explicitly called out structured meal times, which helped ensure that I ate three square meals and had stable blood sugars all day (she was always aware of where my purse with my diabetes supplies was throughout our event). Her coordination is inclusive, proactive, and kind-hearted. Like most 2020 wedding couples, we navigated multiple postponements, tying the knot a full two years past the initial date we scheduled with Mariah. She was incredibly communicative and transparent with us throughout this time and she operated with so much integrity, always honoring our original contract and giving us flexible options to customize her service hours, as we wanted to add additional consulting hours to our day-of-coordination package in the last few months leading up to the wedding. She was always responsive and articulated clear action items and points for follow-up each time we checked in. We never had to worry about loose ends or missing details since Mariah was so proactive and communicative about each step of the coordination process. She really did go above and beyond to make our day absolutely perfect.

Planning a wedding during a pandemic is next level. Luckily, I had Emily from a sparkling event by my side every step of the way. Emily was literally a God send. From the minute I got engaged (before the pandemic) to planning all the details, Emily was there answering all my questions and handling tough things like discrepancies with vendors and making sure things got done in a timely manner. She was my go to when I was having a breakdown as so many crazy things happened during the planning process that I was going to write a memoir. But when the day came, and I looked all around me, it was worth it. I got to marry my husband knowing that all the blood sweat and tears Emily and I had endured was priceless and I am forever grateful for her support and her let's get it done attitude. Having a destination event, required that I have a local and experienced person working with me. Mandi was perfect, as she had insight into the bride's preferences, yet worked with me as the host. She managed the venue staff, the photographer, florist, and decorating details. I was able to ship supplies directly to her and she handled all the details. The winery garden dinner for 45 was flawless! Most impressive was the personal service and quick replies during the planning and organizing. She's a kind and generous person who happens to be an amazing professional event planner!

She is ABSOLUTE MAGIC!!!!! I live in los angeles so don't have the ability to know the vendors in Big Sur and she handled EVERYTHING!!!! Her recommendations were top notch and everyone gave us the wedding of our dreams! Truly we were all blown away and all of our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to! I will upload more photos as I get them! I don't have photos yet of the reception but it was everything!!! The food, the dj, the flowers, the drinks, the ceremony...all of it. I hate to leave a negative review as I knew Diane was dealing with some personal stuff, however, this is not the person you want ghosting you for months leading up to the event or cutting ties with you a week before the event. Also, I heard from an assistant of hers who said she would be taking over (we never knew Diane had an assistant) however when we emailed this assistant back, they never responded. We tried reaching out to Diane several times and eventually took matters in our own hands and organized our day assuming Diane would be nowhere to be found. Then 1 week before our wedding when everything was set, she began emailing our vendors (photographer, flowers, videographer, officiant, hair and makeup) and communicating a completely different timeline and old information that was wrong!?! She had not read our emails we copied her on for months and caused so much unnecessary headaches the week before our wedding bc we had to go back to each vendor and explain that Diane's information was old and dated and to stick with the timeline we had communicated. This is. Not what you want to be doing last minute. In the end, we all agreed to part ways. Our wedding turned out exactly as we wanted minus the Loss of the $750 for Paion that she suggested and minus the headaches and drama leading up to the event. I can say that she gave us a list of vendors which we paid for, however we did hours of our own research to find hair and makeup & photographer and deserts. The only vendors we used from her were our catering company, Catering Monterey- phenomenal btw - officiant, Soaring Starkey- HIGHLY RECOMMEND, and Big Sur flowers, they were pretty good and made a gorgeous bouquet but had some issues delivering the flowers to us the morning of and left them at Glen oaks reception instead of the house which was frustrating bc we were on a timeline and the reception is not close to the house. The worst part about this experience is that not only did things get so contested and we agreed to part ways 1 week before the event, she also listened to my vision and then booked us for Paion Estates which after talking to my photographer, Lynn Lewis (HIGHLY RECOMMEND) we realized that my vision would not happen at Paion. So we lost our $750 deposit for that location in order to take the wedding photos on the Rocky cliffs (north of glenoaks) which is all I explained I wanted from the beginning and showed very detailed images of my vision. Lynn Lewis, our photographer ended up putting together the day of timeline and making all our dreams for our elopement come true. her services include vendor referrals and timeline management. I'd you're having a small wedding, skip the coordinator all together and just go with Lynn. Lynn was the photographer we found on our own. Diane was a nice person and in the beginning I thought this would be great, but as time passed it was clear she's had other things going on and was not 100% committed or at least she wasn't with Olivia and myself.

Her thoroughness with even the smallest details saved me so much money, which was especially important since I was planning a destination wedding from Florida to Big Sur.
