Patty is absolutely amazing and I loved working with her! I'm getting married in October in Carmel and was looking for a wedding planner to help me find wedding vendors, review contracts, and find a location for our rehearsal dinner and welcome party. Every Last Detail was the first company I called. I'm normally the type of person who calls around to explore options and find the best price, but Patty was so personable and made what felt like a daunting task seem fun so I booked her right away. I don't even know where to begin with this woman...Words cannot express how helpful Patty was throughout the year we took planning my dream wedding. She was referred to be by a good friend of mine who also hired her to plan a perfect wedding. I can't imagine having such a perfectly smooth wedding without Patty! In my past I worked a few weddings and knew just how much coordination goes into the day of planning and knew I needed someone to help, so that we could fully enjoy our day and not have any additional work put on ourselves or our guests! Shortly after booking our venue we hired Patty who was a preferred vendor of Carmel Valley Ranch. Patty is a seasoned veteran, has endless connections, and enjoyable to be around. We were able to book a hybrid package that included Patty making recommendations for vendors based off a questionnaire we filled out and then would make introductions for us. If Patty is still offering this service I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND it as it got us quick introductions with vendors within our budget who had successfully worked with Patty in the past. It also made it much easier when we got to one month prior before our wedding as Patty already knew who all of our vendors were. This review is long overdue. Quite frankly I thought I already did it. And that's just the thing about weddings, so much is happening and parts of the big day are like a blur. I went into my wedding planning as a kind of a control freak only wanting help the day of. Boy I have learned the true value a great wedding planning like Patty can offer. My husband and I got married on October 7 2016 in Monterey, and when people ask how our wedding day went, my response is always the same: It went off without a hitch, thanks to our wedding planner!" Getting Patty as our wedding planner was one of the best things that we did for our wedding. Four months before our wedding, we requested Patty's day of wedding services. We had completed most of the arrangements for the wedding, but there were still a few more things that we had to put together. My husband and I had moved from the Bay Area a year ago, but needed help finding vendors and doing all of the behind the scenes stuff. Patty did such a great job with finding vendors for me to choose from, negotiating with them, and letting me know her honest opinion of who to work with. I felt completely confident in her suggestions and guidance. That confidence was validated when all of her coordinated vendors were flawless the day of the wedding. Patty e-mailed checklists throughout the year to make sure I was on track with what needed to be done. The details that went into these check lists were so helpful and really eliminated any margin for error. The month before the wedding Patty created a detailed timeline that melted the stress right off of my shoulders. Everything possible was accounted for. Passing this timeline along to everyone helped deter people from asking, "what time is this at?" This is just one example of Patty's thoroughness and there are plenty more of them as well. The day of the wedding, I was lucky enough to have Patty and her team set everything up, run the show, and break everything down. THIS IS A BRIDE'S DREAM! After the wedding everything was packed back up and waiting in my room since we departed the next day. I fancy myself a generally articulate person, and as I write this, I struggle to find words that do Patty Speirs and her company Every Last Detail justice. I truly cannot imagine a more consummate professional who excels at their line of work the way she does. We planned a wedding in beautiful Monterey from Hawaii, right in the aftermath of a huge move. I was initially so overwhelmed and daunted by making our dream wedding happen once we fell in love with our venue (the Monterey Plaza Hotel). Coordinating logistical things for a California wedding from an island in the middle of the ocean involving family on the East Coast is not easy. We knew we needed a professional, but I couldn't imagine when we contacted Patty the level of detail, attention, thoughtfulness, and unmatched competence she would bring. Everything suddenly became doable and manageable, and Patty speedily got to work with helping us fill in the gaps, nail down our vendors, and anticipated everything we never thought about. Wow, what to say about Patty? After a whirlwind year of wedding planning with a baby, I feel like she's become an old friend. First: Patty knows the wedding industry. She knows all the best vendors: be them florists, photographers, bands, bakers, or officiants. You name it-- she knows someone, and she's got all the sweetest hookups (clients benefit from her vendor discounts). My (now) husband and I were planning our Carmel Highlands wedding from San Diego, and we knew zilch about wedding planning. On top of it all, we welcomed a baby girl in the middle of it, and would have been completely overwhelmed were it not for ELD. Patty really brought our dream wedding to life. We had a beautiful ceremony with a jazz band and DJ to boot. The reception was gorgeous-- it was all perfect, and much of the credit goes to Patty. Second: Patty is super, super organized and on top of things. She keeps a binder full of all of your vendor contracts, receipts, dues, checklists, etc. I cannot stress enough how important it is to hire someone who is hyper organized (maybe even a wee bit anal haha) to plan your wedding. I tend to be a bit more lackadaisical about these things, and without - literally - "every last detail" planned to the T, a wedding can turn disastrous. Patty kept us on top of things as the wedding day approached. Third: Patty truly shined on our wedding day. To be able to ENJOY your wedding day, the bride and groom shouldn't be running around behind the scenes, organizing, and tending to all the little details. They should be IN the experience. You really need a top notch planner to take care of the behind the scenes magic for you. You deserve that on your wedding day. Patty was just that-- running back and forth to our room, grabbing accessories or returning wedding gifts or helping me into my dress while simultaneously orchestrating the whole wedding. We hired Patty to be our wedding planner after meeting with a few, though her price beat the others, the real reason we hired her was we knew she could be our voice to take care of whatever we needed, we could tell she would fight to make our wedding the wedding we wanted. We worked with her for about 18 months to the date we got married. Unfortunately Covid killed a lot of our planning including our original venue no longer being able to accommodate us. My wife and I are both in healthcare care and knew this might happen and were really about to give up and postpone everything. With all the work and planning that went into everything, we were crushed. Patty did not give up. Though we ended up changing our wedding to an elopement wedding and just postponing our big ceremony and reception for friends and family once things calm down, Patty made things happen. She found us a venue in Monterey that would accommodate us on our originally planned date, made sure we had accommodations for the 4 nights we wanted to be there and even made sure we had a reservation for a nice restaurant for after our ceremony. It wasn't the original plan, but Patty was able to adapt and make our wedding day happen. She is awesome and we will be bringing her to Hawaii when we have our ceremony and reception for our friends and family. She was even our witness for our elopement. There are not enough good things to say about Patty and her team at ELD! My husband and I were married in early November of 2015 at Holman Ranch in Carmel Valley, CA. We chose the start to finish package and boy was it worth every penny! We started the planning process with her from Seattle over the phone, and from the very first conversation Patty made us feel secure, in control, and totally supported. We were worried that being out of state would prevent us from having the wedding we wanted, but Patty pulled it all together for us. Our fall/autumn themed wedding came to fruition purely through Patty's guidance. She asked us to send her pictures of our ideas from pinterest and the like, and she connected us with all the fabulous vendors. She gave us choices for vendors who she worked with and trusted, then we would pick who meshed best with our personalities and vision. This gave us a huge sense of control but also helped to do away with the worry about not knowing which vendors were worth working with. Every vendor that Patty connected us with was top notch, and she always respected our opinions and budget. She ALWAYS took the time to respond to our numerous questions via email and phone calls. As time got closer to the wedding date, she kept us on schedule and made sure all the tasks were completed for decor, vendors' contracts etc. We got to worry about the fun things while she took care of all the behind the scenes details, including reading the fine print and understanding all the vendor contracts. We ended up with a beautiful wedding that was EXACTLY what we had pictured in our heads. Patty made our family and friends feel comfortable and welcome, and her judgment was absolutely spot on. My husband and I had a blast at our wedding because we knew that Patty and her team had everything in hand. I can't recommend her enough to prospective brides and grooms. Patty is AMAZING! I started planning my wedding while in South America... my husband and I interviewed a couple of wedding planners, and Patty stood out very quickly for her positive energy, organization, and attention to detail. Although we hired Patty for "month of", she was available with all the crucial questions and did an awesome job reading over all the contracts we got. We did our reception on the base at the Naval Postgraduate School and Patty was a PRO with dealing with all the logistics that came along with that! One thing that really stood out to me, besides Patty's wonderful personality and professionalism, is how on the day of our wedding, the tables in the reception hall weren't arranged exactly how I liked them... I recently got married at Berwick Park in Pacific Grove with the reception at the old whaling station in Monterey and can't imagine how my day would've gone off with out the help of Patty and ELD. Patty is extremely organized and pays incredibly close attention to detail. Before the wedding she did everything from contacting all the vendors, making a timeline and recommend great vendors (no kick-backs, just trusted industry advice). She organized the rehearsal and even had nametags for everyone which was a nice touch and on the day of she was able to incorporate all my DIY personalized touches to make my day special on top of take care of everything behind the scenes from chasing off a second bride who was confused as to which park she was getting married, to using a pooper scooper at the ceremony location to rid it of the goose droppings, getting an extremely tardy maid of honor in her dress, to straightening the aisle runner and cleaning up and putting all our personalized touches in my hotel room during the reception and talking to the police after a noise complaint! I just had my wedding this past Saturday 06/02/12. We booked Patty from ELD for the day of wedding coordination and it was one of the best decisions we made during the wedding planning process. My Fiance and I started to plan our wedding in the carmel area on our own- trying to save as much money as we could. We had a few details hammered out and then realized that we were never going to be able to pull this off on our own. We were getting married at Carmel River State Beach with our reception at Il Fornaio. We quickly realized that no one would be running the show- and that certainly wasn't going to make for a stress free and fun day. I immediately began searching for day of wedding coordination services and e-mail a few prospects, Patty being one of them. Out of the four I contacted, she was the only one that got back to me the next morning. On the phone she was to easy to talk to, and it was clear she had a ton of experience planning weddings in the monterey bay area. She also had very reasonable rates- and after getting all the information from her, we booked her right away. For the day of services, we started officially working with her a month before our wedding. However, she did e-mail me great vendors suggestions when I was finalizing the details. Patty compiled all of my contacts and then created the best time line for the day. Not a stone unturned! We met with Patty a month before our wedding and ran through all of our details. She is so much fun and very professional. From that point till our big day, she helped us with little details. Patty was very easy to get a hold of and was awesome at returning e-mails and phone calls. Patty also helped us on our rehearsal which was great since we weren't entirely sure what to do! On the day of our wedding we were so relaxed because we knew Patty of Every Last Detail would have it covered. Between Patty and her assistant Urma, they took care of everything. She set up my decorations at our reception, ensured my vendors arrived on time, she cleaned up the sand on the beach and was our personal bouncer to make sure no beach goers took our spot! Patty is awesome! We hired Patty as our day-of event coordinator for our wedding in October 2012. I am a type A personality and had all of the venders/DIY projects figured out, but needed someone to make my vision a reality, and Patty and Every Last Detail made sure that our day went smoothly. From the beginning I felt like she gave me as much attention as a bride whose whole wedding she was planning. I didn't feel like she gave me the shaft at all for only having her do the day-of instead of planning the entire event; she spent over an hour on the phone with me on our first call and gave me all sorts of helpful tips before I even hired her! At the time we lived in San Jose and were planning our wedding at Holman Ranch in Carmel Valley, so getting to the area to meet was hard, but she accommodated our schedules, and even met with us 3 times on site to do a walk through. Who knew there were so many little details involved in planning a wedding! Patty was extremely helpful in making sure the little details weren't overlooked throughout the wedding planning process. While we were many miles apart, that didn't deter Patty from providing a helping hand each step of the way. Prior to attending vendor appointments, Patty would make sure I had a detailed email as to what I should expect and cover with each vendor whether it was related to flowers, photos, hair and makeup, cake selection or dj's. I never walked into a vendor appointment feeling unprepared. This was extremely helpful in selecting the most valuable vendors and weeding out the vendors who up-charged for every additional service beyond their basic packages offered. Patty was extremely responsive and would put together To-Do Lists every couple months to ensure everything was falling into place as it should. At times I felt overwhelmed during the planning process, however, reviewing the To-Do Lists every couple months made me feel confident everything was coming together and details weren't being overlooked. Patty would offer valuable suggestions along the way as well as to what she has seen be successful and not so successful over the many years of wedding planning. Patty coordinated the rehearsal and wedding day ceremony. Her take charge attitude resulted in a quick and rather painless rehearsal (in 112 degree heat) and a wonderful and smooth flowing wedding day ceremony. Her presence the day of the wedding was invaluable! From lacing up my dress to bustling the dress before the reception, making sure everyone in the wedding party was in place and ready when they needed to be, interacting with the vendors and overseeing their work, keeping track of the flow of the reception to ensure each task was on time, making sure the marriage license was completed correctly by our officiant and MOH/BM, placing my flip flops under the head table before the reception started which was a godsend as she anticipated my feet would be killing me by that time of night! The list goes on and on. You will not be disappointed with the outstanding service and knowledge Patty will bring to all aspects of your wedding and planning process.
